Passed Through Charleston WV from Michigan
Good morning, Everyone, I heard and seen online about this wild and wonderful state, from being one of the top conservative states(Union state at one time) to Charleston being a red city(slightly votes more red). Since I was going to North Carolina, I decided to stop in WV. I always wanted to come. As Northern and walking social justice activist from Michigan, I decided to spend most of the day in the city. Did I have decent time more than I thought I went to the city's mall(malls in America are dead) first and met this cool West Virginian who played college football in Michigan, coincidentally. Shout out to him for taking a picture with me. Also, a shout to the British man from England who is the curator at WV Music Hall of Fame, he schooled me about famous musicians from WV. I than went to Auntie Pearls Honey Pot (met a WV adult from the holler he ask me for directions and that was random) recommended from the man in the picture. Great family run place. I decided than do one last thing and go to MacCorkle Ave and do my walking. Boy was that experience to say the least being an Asian in a mostly White state and the South. Shout to the 3-4 friendly people greeting from the cars. That ended my day. I can see the hardships the natives face in the state past and present. It also interesting how some Democrats like Robert Byrd and Joe Munckin were part of the party.
