A theme that has been on my mind lately is materialism. Greed is something that comes so naturally to us in this day and age, which is ironic since we're a society so used to instant gratification.

The easier our access to material objects becomes, the greedier we seem to get as a society. So in this piece, I wanted to put these ideas into a composition. We see our character holding on tightly to both the dove and the pomegranate while wearing a fine silk dress. The fruit has stained her dress and the blue feathers of the dove.

It doesn't matter that holding on to these things is ruining them - as long as her greed is satisfied.

Had to get some help transporting this large painting to an art exhibition I'll be having during the month of December and for context this piece is 1.5m by 2m. I honestly don't know how it all came together but safe to say that I managed and I'm definitely reconsidering painting large works after l've gotten this thing across counties 🥲
Shipping is easier cause I just take the painting off the frame and ship it rolled but I hope the work manages to find the perfect wall and that it gets a home that will appreciate it as much as I do.
Side note: this piece took 5 months to complete 😅

For the planet that Mo Love and Ohio Honey are fighting on here I used the color palette of Dragon Ball's planet Namek.

New Adwo 2063

This is a piece commissioned as a YouTube thumbnail for the full-cast audio series Malaika, about a woman who is fated to cause the end of the world but would really rather not. The scene here (from the second episode) depicts the heroine as she is approached with a business proposition from an extraordinarily shady philanthropist.
