discussion Not sure what to do with myself now that I’ve finished
Finished both HZD and FW and I feel so empty now that I’ve finished them. I spent several hours a day playing and I was genuinely so excited to discover the next parts of the story, learn new things about the world, and immerse myself in everything. My friend who introduced them to me told me that they would ruin just about every other game for me because of how good they are, and I didn’t believe her until I was done. I’ve been trying to play some other games (Cyberpunk 2077, The Sinking City, and Kena: Bridge of Spirits) and nothing is clicking. I don’t find any of them as user-friendly as the Horizon games, and I can’t get into the story at all. I’m trying to find other things to do to occupy my time but it still feels like there’s a massive void. I’ve had “book hangovers” before where I finish an amazing book or series and it feels like nothing compares for a while and I just can’t get into any other book that I try, and this feels the same. The world of Horizon is just such a special place, and so are the characters. I’m sure there will be other games out there I’ll love, but for now I’m just missing getting to play the Horizon games for the first time.

HZD Discussion Combat under...
What I really want for the next game its underwater combat.
We start just by swinging on the surface to swing in caves and in the sea for a little while.
I want equipment to fight underwater and slay machines, or even override them to get and edge in combat.
Armor that lets you move fast in water, harpoons that explode of freeze the enemy, underwater lures to start a fight.

discussion Why don't the Carja...
Why don't the Carja worship both Sun and Moon?
The Carja faith is all about duality, Sun and Shadow, Life and Death, Beginning and Ending. Yet when it comes the greatest duality in the world as far as the Carja know, they only worship one half. The Sun is the greatest light and the Moon is part of the greatest shadow and they only worship the light.

OC/Fanart Horizon fanart paiting - Charger riding
Hi everyone!
I just wanted to share with you this little sketchy painting I did as a collaboration with a videogame page during Inktober 2026. For day 9 the word was "Ram", so we decided to feature Aloy riding a Charger 😄
Hope you may like it!
Have a nice October y'all!

discussion I don't know who thought this was a good system...
Restricting specific arrow types to different bows and having the bows available to you be completely random so that you don't have access to the ammo that a bunch of the machines are weak to unless you happen to come across a bow that uses it. The one system I hoped they'd changed from Zero Dawn and they kept it.

discussion Forbidden West is the most hand hold-y game I have ever played.
Now, I'm not one of those "yellow paint = bad game" people. Stuff like that doesn't bother me. But Aloy constantly reminds you every single step of the way what to do next when you're doing a quest. "I should head east past this mine." "Looks like that's the last of those bristle backs, I should get back to that guy." "I should use my pullcaster here." The devs must have thought we were complete idiots. I've never experienced a game where the player character talks you through every step of quest like this.

HZD Discussion Nora been more powerful
Could the Nora, if they hadn't rejected the knowledge Araman found, have become as powerful as the Carja?
The Embrace offers protections strategically as only one way in makes it very easy to defend since the way the enemy is coming from is the only weak point and can easily be blocked off. For farming, they once again have the entire Embrace plus everything up to Devils Grief to use (or the Nora equivalent which I forgot what it is they do but I do remember it's not actually farming, at least not by our definition).
We don't exactly when the concept of All-Mother as the Nora currently know it came around but it would had to have been after Araman left the Sacred Lands, so I guess people of his time could explain this new knowledge as the mountain giving them one last gift before they left. If they get further down the line, it could be explained that when All-Mother defeated the Metal Devil, she bestowed a gift upon the people who remained loyal to her to help them survive which lays way for the Carjas arrogance to come in since both tribes are surprisingly arrogant and stuck in their ways about their respective deity.
I suppose in the version, the Nora would still be against using or going anywhere near the old world (which is weird as they use machines in the games and their religious history has them being old world as well even though their against using anything from what came before), but given the fact the Nora only take what they need, they wouldn't be running short anytime soon

HFW Discussion Aloy's writing seems so inconsistent
Oh boy i'm going to get downvoted for this.
But why is her personality so different throughout the games and DLCs?
In Zero Dawn she's so open to anyone that threats her as a human being. She helps people. People help her back. She even calls to arms the Nora and most people she met to defend Meridian.
Here comes Forbidden West. She's all of a sudden this closed-off person who works 'alone' despite the world ending and having two tribes behind her back to help? She's now relatively unempathetic, especially towards Beta. Sure she grows as a character and overcomes those bad qualities by the end, but she remains more or less closed off.
But then we have the Burning Shores. She's now, all of a sudden, an open person who calls out how "We make a good team" with Seyka and giggles like a teenager when responded to and is really empathetic when Seyka's spirit is down. Okay, sure, Aloy is 19 years old, but she showed none of that in Forbidden West, and the time passed shouldn't have changed her that drastically.
I mean, she looks the same, the voice is the same, and her history is the same, but for me it felt like I'm watching 3 different people.
I still love the Horizon games. I really hope Hunter's Gathering doesn't prevent Horizon 3 from being made. The franchise still has so much potential, but man, the writing seems so inconsistent in some areas.
HFW Discussion Forbidden West Ps plus
So zero dawn they released the complete edition with the dlc but it's only base for forbidden west? Or am I missing something here

discussion Horizon has been predicted the Future
I am replaying Horizon Zero Dawn remastered and to think almost 10 years have pasted since it first released. I have to say Horizon have predict so many stuff that when I was playing i would never think that would actually happen. I mostly speaking for the Development of AI and the Autonomous Drone Armies that are currently being developed. Aslo companies in Horizon are so powerful that are actually fighting wars with themselves will this haven't happened yet but I think we are heading to that direction. Aslo billioners wanting to live forever and go to space but only for themselves.

discussion Horizon 3:What if we could build our own machine companions and fight alongside other hunters?
Horizon already has one of the most unique machine ecosystems in gaming. I think the next step could be turning that ecosystem into a deeper RPG experience built around machine companions, customization, and team-based combat.
- Collect, customize, and raise your own machines
Instead of machines being mostly enemies or temporary mounts, what if we could override and collect machines as long-term AI companions?
Players could customize individual machines with modular parts, almost like building with LEGO:
Weapons: Physical, energy, precision, or spread attacks, with rare variants obtained from special missions.
Armor: Different defensive parts for survivability or specialized combat roles.
Power systems: Upgradeable batteries and energy capacity, potentially using components taken from enemy machines.
Mobility: Different propulsion systems that trade speed, momentum, and stealth.
AI cores: Different behaviors, combat personalities, and tactical specializations.
These upgrades would create meaningful differences between machines, rather than simply increasing their stats. Players could develop their own preferred machines over time, both mechanically and visually, including custom paint schemes.
- Different hunters paired with different machines
What if major side quests and missions allowed us to play alongside other hunters, each paired with a machine that complements their fighting style?
For example, Erend could team up with a raptor-like machine. The machine could charge into enemies, break armor, or stagger them, allowing Erend to follow up with powerful hammer attacks against exposed weak points.
Other hunters could have different weapons, skills, and machine synergies. Players could choose which machine to bring, creating different tactical combinations rather than relying on a single companion throughout the entire game.
The main story could still focus on Aloy and her own machine companion, preserving the central narrative. Meanwhile, major side quests could explore other hunters and their unique partnerships with machines.
- Post-game replayable campaigns and specialized parts
After completing the main story, what if we could replay major side-story campaigns using different hunters and machine companions?
These replayable missions could feature challenging enemy encounters, different tactical objectives, and valuable specialized machine parts that are difficult to obtain elsewhere.
For example, a particular campaign might reward rare energy weapons, specialized armor, advanced propulsion systems, or unique AI cores. Players could experiment with different hunter-machine combinations to overcome challenges and farm parts for highly specialized builds.
This would give players a reason to keep playing after the main story, while making machine customization and team composition meaningful parts of the endgame.
- A deeper companion system
I'd also love to see machines develop more distinct personalities and behaviors over time, making them feel like long-term companions rather than interchangeable equipment.
A system for sharing, renting, or borrowing other players' machines could add another layer of variety, similar to the pawn system in Dragon's Dogma. Players could build their own machine teams and experience different combinations without necessarily requiring traditional multiplayer.
The bigger idea
Horizon already has the foundation: machine variety, component-based combat, overriding, hunting, and a world full of different tribes and hunters.
Combining these elements with RPG progression, modular machine building, companion AI, and replayable endgame campaigns could make hunting machines about more than defeating them. It could become about building a team, developing its capabilities, and finding new ways to fight together.
Would you like to see this direction in Horizon 3? What kinds of machine customization, hunter partnerships, or endgame missions would you want most?

HZD Discussion Question about reading and writting.
Ok, maybe it's a stupid question, but...
Did Aloy, Erend, Varl and the team know to write ?
Because it's obvious they can read, since they have a focus.
But i was questionning, because the Nora only tells their story by speaking, they don't write or read. Since Varl is a Nora, i wondered.

HFW Discussion How do any sky clan members still have their toes? Discussion.
Is there a reason why the sky clan doesn’t cover their feet? Even Aloy’s armour just has a little wrap at the bottom of her foot in the middle. They live in the snow! Even desert clan armour covers the bottoms of their feet sometimes!
Are they just used to the cold? Plot armour? How to any of them have toes?😭

HZD Discussion About to start Forbidden West.
I just finished playing HZD on PS4 for the first time. Wow, amazing game, cool lore. Would you recommend playing Forbidden West? A lot of ppl are disappointed by the sequel.
Is that different in terms of weapon/battle handling, mechanics/dynamics and overall the playthrough? Any tips you could give?
Thanks in advance.

HZD Discussion Mods for Remastered
Hello everyone!
I’m a lover of Horizon Zero Dawn, and also a lover of mods. I love adding mods to my games, especially aesthetic mods, as in mods that offer a variety of outfits, hairstyles and so on.
Though, I saw that on Nexus HZD Remastered also very little mods, mostly ones for graphics, and most of the mods that I’d like are for the non remastered version. Does anyone know if the non remastered ones are good to use also for the remastered? Where else can I find new outifts and hairstyles for the remastered, since Nexus has literally none for it
