Moderator applications
Hi folks,
After a few years of managing this place on my own, I have come to the conclusion that I cannot commit all the time required to keep things running as smoothly as I would like due to work and life commitments, which is not fair on the community as more and more mod mails and messages are going unanswered.
Due to this, I’ve decided to open up applications to accept 2 or 3 new mods. I’m happy for it to not be a very formal application process and just have people message me privately or put in the comments of this post why they would like to be a mod.
Mod experience is helpful, but not required, the most important thing is that you’re passionate about this community.
I’m not going anywhere either, I will still oversee this place, but I am happy to take a step back to let the new mods do their thing, and I will only step in if things are going very wrong. I will however always encourage the new mods to reach out to me if they have any questions.
I think that’s about it, I’m looking to seeing your responses and hopefully bringing a couple new people onto the team!
Cheers.

Is it worth visiting Inverness in late November / early December?
Hi, as the title suggests, I want to know if Inverness is worth visiting around 26-30 November? Would it be too dreary? Would it snow by then? Would we have missed the autumn foliage?

Private ultrasound tech
Is there anywhere in Inverness to get a private early pregnancy ultrasound? I found somewhere in Elgin but was looking for a little closer if possible

In need of a professional LinkedIn photoshoot in Inverness
I’m looking to get a professional photo shoot for my LinkedIn profile, but I’m not entirely sure what works best, so I’d appreciate a photographer who could offer some guidance.
I need an individual portrait rather than a full business or corporate photoshoot. Ideally, I’d like something professional but not overly pricey, in other words: one good quality and professional looking profile picture.
I’d be grateful for any recommendations. Thank you!

Football 5s/6s/7s
Coming up to Inverness for work next week for around 5 weeks. Looking to keep playing football.
I’m from Falkirk and we’ve got a Facebook group down here for organising games. Anything similar for Inverness?
I’ve posted in the Facebook page “Inverness Football” but had no replies in a few days

Where's the best place in town for an all-day full Scots breakfast?

Best pub for a solo visit?
I’ll be in your lovely town weekend after next all on my lonesome and had a good goo online for pubs and bars to visit. I’m wondering which you’d recommend for someone on their own? Happy to remain on my own or chat with people around as long as there’s good vibes!
Edit: thanks for all of the recommendations, I will check them out! If anyone wants to join the more the merrier!

Lost hat
Hi all! I am visiting Inverness for a few days and seem to have lost my nice wool hat. It is a dark green Buff Marino wool hat, last seen after I parked on Hill st. I will be in town until Monday if anyone happens to find it.
Thank you!

Any local companies replace failed double-glazing?
Does anyone know where I can find someone in the Inverness area who repairs or replaces failed double-glazed units? I'm not looking for entirely new windows, just replacement glass. "FIX from CR Smith", who specialise in such work, are based in Dunfermline and won't come here.

Loch Ness Lullabies radio show
Apologies if this isn't allowed and I won't be at all offended if you delete it, I'm blatantly chancing my arm!
I have a show on Mixcloud every Sunday at 6pm called Loch Ness Lullabies, it's completely free to listen to, has no ads and includes two hours of very chilled out music. I'm still feeling my way with the format but it's already built up a nice community of listeners. I'd love to get more locals involved and hope to be including some interviews and other bits of interest from around the Loch.

Tradies - Birch Plywood
Long shot but anyone got any recommendations for where they get 18mm birch ply in Inverness?
Just ran out of what I accrued from Woodstock before it closed and all the usual places don’t stock it - TP,Jewsons,MGM etc
Given the delivery charges almost tempted to get it cnc’d if I have to get it from central belt.
Cheers

House of Bruar
My child always says when the TV adverts come on
"Good place to poop"
And I have to admit, she is not wrong.
I love taking a posh shit here.
Anyone else?

Volunteers still needed
Highland Realms Comic Con has a few more openings for half-day volunteers, whose efforts earn a t-shirt and admission to the con for the other half of the day.

Long walk
Hi, im planning to walk form Inverness to Nairn. Kinda thought I'd do it just so I could tell myself I'd done it. Has anyone on here done it and what route is best?
