Lomo LC-A Loose screw
Greetings! I recently purchased my first Lomo LC-A camera. When it arrived, it would not advance the film. The cog for forwarding was completely stuck (tested without loaded film). I opened the bottom cover, where I discovered a loose, small silver flathead screw jammed in the related mechanism. After removing it, everything seems to work. It advances, the shutter works, and both LEDs in the viewfinder work.
I'm having trouble figuring out where this screw came from. So far, I have removed the top and bottom covers, as well as the front lens cover, to look for an empty screw hole. I compared these areas with multiple teardown images and videos. After looking through them, I cannot find a screw that correctly matches this one.
The other flatheads are either larger and/or fully flat on top, with sharp edges. It's difficult to tell from my picture, but this screw has a slight dome to its head, with thin edges.
The camera is in very good condition, showing little to no signs of wear. To get the top cover off, I had to lift the fake leather on the front. As the glue holding the leather down seems to be the factory original, I don't believe the lens and shutter assembly has ever been removed since production, although it's hard to say for sure.
I believe this camera is from around the year 2000, as the serial number starts with XA13.
I figure some of you may have tinkered with many of these cameras, and I hope you can give me some pointers.
The next step for me would be a full teardown. I'm fairly experienced with various repairs on a hobby level, but this would be only the second camera I have ever worked on. As the camera seems to operate just fine, I feel that I would risk damaging something in the process.
