So im getting close to owning 50% of the entire Playstation 2 library, and i have just added a whole bunch more Japanese titles! I am also almost at 10% of the entire Japanese library too, but I've only sort of started that recently...

Here's the console: https://i.imgur.com/MiE1Mpb.jpeg

After testing the console thoroughly, on a reboot it seemingly crashed and froze on the splash screen.

IC BA5815FM fried and shorted to ground, blew fuse PS11.

Initially I replaced the fuse just to see, and sure enough, instantly blew.

This also caused a complete loss of video (failing boot due to failing handshake) and disc drive function.

That particular IC is for laser/sled tracking as well as disc drive operation. Also the power/reset button itself a bit.

Harvested from a japanese donor board, another PS11 fuse, put a calibrated laser in, and she's back up like new.

Hell Yeah!

Man, it almost seems like it was only yesterday when I bough 🥹

I was playing Onimusha Warlords on my PS2 earlier in the year and couldn’t believe how great it looked. It’s such a good game..

Then I got my Steam Machine and saw the first and second game were on sale in a pack.. I thought why not? I downloaded warlords and have been playing it for a few days… but I cannot get over how terrible it looks compared to the old version on my PS2/CRT

What other games have you guys played and experienced this? Just out of curiosity.

the Nintendo PlayStation2 is my favourite build

been slowly growing my ps2 collection for a little over a year and i'm pretty proud of what i've been able to collect so far. my goal is to get a curated library of games that i actually care about, and i've checked most of my boxes tbh. once i graduate and i get the job i've been training for, i should be able to complete my collection pretty quickly and move on to ps1 and gamecube

(feel free to ignore the blurays, ps3, and ps4 games)

First time ps2 owner here, i just bought one and a bunch of silent hill games which i was going to play through tonight. But it isint letting me, everytime i try to launch it, it keeps showing the loading screen before eventually switching to check device power, but the confusing part of it all is if i wait 3-5 minutes it shows me the games main menu for a couple seconds before going back to the “check device power” screen, does anyone know how to fix this?

I need help. I have a DESR-7000, everything is still fine, the DVR can boot normally and HDD still reading, but I can't figure how to boot to FMCB to play ps2 games, I inserted 8mb MC with FMCB for PSX installed, but only black screen, PSX can read that MC also. I tried lot of installer of FMCB for PSX but still black screen. Please, any ideas how to make it work? I also tried to use PS2BBL but it gave me black screen when open PS2BBL on my PS2 so that I cant install PS2BBL to PSX

One of the best games for the PS2. It's second for me first will always be Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 but this is still an amazing, classic game that's deserving of all the praise it gets! Truly a game that deserves a remaster!

Indiana Jones Staff of Kings

I remember getting this 10 years for 20€ ago and looking forward to play it.

I’ve had these in my collection for years 🤩

I bought a scph 18000 and I want to know what I should do about going from a 100 volt power supply to a 120 volt power supply. Or should I get a converter? What kind of converter do you guys recommend?

I remember the first time this happened to me...I put in my bully disc and was ready to play then it took me to this screen and I got so scared at the time I don't know why because as an adult it's not so bad anymore!

Tony Hawk's Underground & WWE SmackDown! Here Comes The Pain were released in North America 23 years ago

Howdy yall. Just picked up a fat PS2 recently and will be looking to try some games out on in that I missed from my childhood. I will pretty much play any genre. I am however one of those nerds who always looks for the "definitive" or "best" way to play a game. I have access to a PC and several consoles so I likely can get access to the "best" way to play any given game.

With a large amount of the library having ports, remasters and remakes, I'm curious, what are some of yalls picks for the games best experienced on an actually PS2 with a CRT?

Hey all, I just got a PS2 and I’m really looking forward to experiencing it AND the PS1’s library but I’m just curious what some of the actual must plays are? Sonys been pretty good with remastering and remaking their old games but I know these aren’t all perfect but a lot of them are a LOT cheaper than their original versions (looking at you silent hill 2). Im just curious which games are the best and also worth playing over the remakes and vice versa. Let me know what you think!

Do you know why there are no used copies of *Rule of Rose* available? On auction sites, I only see new games still in their plastic wrap. Are they genuine?
