Todd Blanche is essentially suggesting that the administration is exploring scenarios to challenge the certification of the 2026 midterm elections if Democrats win big. The message is clear: If Democrats win, the election is rigged and will not certify results. If Republicans win, the election is fair. That’s not how democracy works. You don’t get to decide whether an election is legitimate based on whether your party wins or loses.

- Russian Bots tried to skew our polls in 2016; 2020 and 2024. Most of their meddling favored Donald Trump. (FBI; DOJ; Brennen Center for Justice; NPR).
- It is common practice for these Bots, to inflate lead margins, for a particular party or candidate. The objective is to push a narrative, that a lead is insurmountable, & that victory is guaranteed. It is intended to create a false sense of complacency, & influence voter turnout.
- Russian operatives have already stepped-up interference in our November midterms, to favor Republicans (NPR 10/24/26).
- The Russians tried the same tricks in Hungary, to favor of Victor Orban, earlier this year. Almost 81% of the electorate showed up, to vote & Victor Orban lost, in a landslide. This was despite all the Russian interference & open support from Putin; Donald Trump; JD Vance (who actually campaigned for Orban), & some in the US Republican party.
- Only 48.1% of voters showed up in our 2018 midterms. It was still the highest voter turnout, for a midterm, since 1918. The Democrats flipped 40 House seats – 30 in States that Trump won.
