Player Discussion Rams backfield: RB Blake Corum: 17 carries, 93 yards, TD. RB Kyren Williams: 16 carries, 99 yards, TD

1.4k Upvotes

Corum out carried Kyren in a 35 to 21 win.

Kyren is still the RB1 to start, but this is a real split now. Corum is a must roster and is bordering on belonging in weekly starter/FLEX territory.

Player Discussion Klint Kubiak on the possibility of starting Raiders QB Fernando Mendoza in Week 8 against the Jets: "I think at this point, we’re thinking about everything. How to fix our problems, how to fix our issues in the red zone, in the third quarter. Personnel, scheme, we’ve got to talk about all of it."

Player Discussion Week 8 Waiver Wire Adds From The Staff at Optimus Fantasy

Thumbnail optimusfantasy.com
14 Upvotes

We're at or past the halfway point of the season in most fantasy leagues. If you're feeling the pressure of finding players to plug into your lineup, you'll want to take a look at the players and defenses our writers have researched for you this week. Today I present to the sub, Optimus Fantasy's Week 8 waiver wire adds!

At the top of the article you'll find a list of bye week breakdowns in a mall map-esque graphic letting you know exactly where you are in the fantasy season. Per our wonderful graphic, the Houston Texans, New Orleans Saints, New York Giants, and San Francisco 49ers are on byes in Week 8.

Three of these four teams on bye weeks will look to sort out their WR rooms, while the New York Giants will get another week to build up JJ McCarthy who might be breaking out in his second stint under the Harbaugh family.

If you've clicked into the article and looked at the graphic you'll notice six teams are on bye in Week 11. Make sure you have your Week 11 lineup figured out if you've been relying on multiple players from the Falcons, Browns, Packers, Rams, Patriots, and Seahawks.

The staff at Optimus breaks up and writes our waiver recommendations by position. Below are the individuals who contributed to this week's waiver article and their Bluesky accounts to stay up on all of their work.

QBs & RBs: u/BrewPython27 (Bluesky)

WRs: u/WhiteHeatFF (Bluesky)

TEs: u/SmokeyHellNFL (Bluesky)

DSTs & Ks: u/NatePolvogt (Bluesky)

I want to give a shout out to our wonderful editor, u/CincoDeManger, for making us sound much more intelligent than we are. Carly also runs the Optimus Fantasy News account that you frequently see popping up on the sub, aggregating officially reported news faster than any other real person. You can follow Carly on Bluesky, too. She's famous — Mina Kimes reposts her work.

As always, create the community you would like to be a part of. Please be civil in the comments. Our team is looking forward to chatting with ya'll!

Week 7 Game by Game Recap: The Good, The Bad and The Ugly

Thumbnail theweekinfantasy.com
34 Upvotes

SEAHAWKS 20 – CHIEFS 3

Seattle

GOOD – The return of Zach Charbonnet is imminent, so Emanuel Wilson had one last night at the Royal Ball before he turns into a fantasy pumpkin reaching 100 rushing yards.

BAD – Sam Darnold has eight interceptions in five games making him not even playable in Super Flex leagues. At least he locks into JSN every snap.

UGLY – No other wide receiver could get over 20 receiving yards.

Kansas City

GOOD – There was not much good here for the Chiefs. This might have been the worst performance by a previous 5-0 team.

BAD – Mahomes is struggling out there and this makes back-to-back games with zero touchdowns and an interception. Things won’t look much better next week in Denver.

UGLY – The Ken Walker revenge game could not have gone worse, 14 carries for 36 yards while chipping in 4 receptions for 21 yards.

RAMS 35 – RAIDERS 21

Los Angeles

GOOD – All of the fantasy studs came out to play with Matthew Stafford throwing 3 TDs. Puka was on the receiving end of one of those and both Kyren Williams and Blake Corum scored while both nearly reaching 100 rushing yards.

BAD – Trying to figure out the Rams tight ends is a fool’s errand. Davis Allen was the lottery winner this week, scoring twice on a whopping 12 routes which were behind the routes run by Higbee and Parkinson. Maybe you can convince your league to start a Team Tight End.

UGLY – It wasn’t all too surprising but those in deep leagues hoping Konata Mumpfield would have stepped up in Davante Adams’ absence can go ahead and send him back to the waiver wire.

Las Vegas

GOOD – We might have ourselves a new king of garbage time as Tre Tucker has proven to be unstoppable against prevent defenses breaking the 100-yard mark and catching a touchdown.

BAD – Michael Mayer seems to play well on even number weeks and not so well on odd number weeks. Week 7 was a bust. Fire him up in Week 8 against the Jets.

UGLY – This game got out of hand early, so the run game was nothing to speak of although Jeanty saved his day in the receiving game.

LIONS 20 – PACKERS 17

Detroit

GOOD – After a painfully slow start to the season, Jameson Williams now has two touchdowns in back-to-back games.

BAD – Dan Campbell electing to go for it on 4th down from his own 24-yard line late in the game continues to baffle me and I still can’t believe they won this game.

UGLY – It’s likely not directly related but it is highly curious that a week after Sam LaPorta went public with his displeasure toward his contract, he was targeted a season-low two times, catching one for 18 yards.

Green Bay

GOOD – Josh Jacobs returned to the field and immediately led the team in rushing with an unimpressive 36 yards, but where Jacobs looked great was in the receiving game with 55 yards and a touchdown. He even came very close to having a second touchdown.

BAD – Christian Watson watched last week as Matthew Golden dominated and this week with Golden struggling, Watson still couldn’t get more than 8 targets topping out at 57 yards.

UGLY – Matthew Golden had been on a four-game streak of either a touchdown or 100 yards receiving but left plenty of yards on the field on his way to a forgettable 39 receiving yards.

BRONCOS 30 – CARDINALS 16

Denver
GOOD – Bo Nix had his best game of the year, but it really was just two big plays. His 62-yard run and a 52-yard toss to RJ Harvey.

BAD – Yes, RJ Harvey and JK Dobbins scored but their fantasy value is likely on life support as Jonah Coleman returned and looked very solid. A three-man running back rotation helps nobody in our game.

UGLY – Remember Week 1 when Evan Engram saw 5 targets and caught a touchdown? I don’t either.

Arizona

GOOD – Trey McBride recorded a season-high 13 targets, a season-high 10 catches and turned them into a season-high 111 yards. He added a touchdown as a cherry on top to his day.

BAD – Michael Wilson’s 55 receiving yards were his most in three weeks.

UGLY – Tyler Allgeier has been outplayed by journeyman Bam Knight in back-to-back weeks and it’s fair to wonder if he will even have a role once Love returns.

GIANTS 27 – TEXANS 21

New York

GOOD – Malik Nabers is a man on fire, and it doesn’t matter who is throwing him the ball these days. That’s four straight 100-yard games heading into the bye week. Absolutely dominating.

BAD – A week after being left in the doghouse, Cam Skattebo, sitting on your bench, responded with 124 yards and a TD.

UGLY – Isaiah Likely was on a hot streak the past three weeks and it all came to a soul-crushing end this week with 12 yards receiving.

Houston

GOOD – CJ Stroud threw two touchdown passes but they didn’t go to anyone you care about.

BAD – Woody Marks has looked better than David Montgomery all season, but Marks seems to be wasting a golden opportunity to put distance between himself and the injured veteran.

UGLY – Nico Collins. Yikes. He did catch two passes but somehow they totaled 6 yards.

BENGALS 35 – RAVENS 13

Cincinnati

GOOD – Joe Burrow was dialed in for this division clash and now has eight touchdowns in the past two games.

BAD – Samaje Perine headed into the bye week with a 16-touch effort and a potential chance to take over the backfield but only saw the ball four times in this game however he did cash in his goal line carry.

UGLY – Chase Brown managers watched as Perine got the lone goal line carry which makes the season uglier.

Baltimore

GOOD – After two weeks of decent, not terrible games, Zay Flowers exploded in this one going for 137 yards and a touchdown.

BAD – The last two weeks for Derrick Henry have been forgettable but hopefully the expected return of Lamar Jackson opens some running lanes.

UGLY - Why are you still rostering Mark Andrews? Stop it.

BUCCANEERS 43 – PANTHERS 13

Tampa Bay

GOOD – Bucky Irving ran wild in this one demolishing the Panther’s run defense on his way to a 100-yard day and 2 TDs.

BAD – Baker Mayfield didn’t have to do much of anything in this game which was good for him moving forward health-wise but bad for your fantasy team this week.

UGLY – With Egbuka ruled out of this game you were maybe thinking Chris Godwin could do something. Anything. He did not. It’s time to move on.

Carolina

GOOD – Darren Waller had that one nice play.

BAD – Bryce Young was on cruise control this season, but this game was a huge speed bump. Burn the film and move on.

UGLY – For those TE streamers who took a chance on Tommy Tremble after his two-touchdown performance last week, it looks like you will still be streaming.

VIKINGS 16 – COLTS 10

Minnesota

GOOD – TJ Hockenson nabbed his first touchdown since Week 1

BAD – In this offense, Justin Jefferson is now looking like a touchdown or bust option. This week he led the receivers with 44 receiving yards but that’s it.

UGLY – I really hope you sold Aaron Jones when you could.

Indianapolis

GOOD – Jonathan Taylor somehow, some way nearly got 100 yards on this Minnesota defense. He’s that good.

BAD – Maybe the Colts should consider the wildcat offense with Taylor and McGowan.

UGLY – The time is coming to punt this season. OH MY GOD, ITS A FIRE…sale.

BROWNS 27 – TITANS 24

Cleveland

GOOD – Quinshon Judkins returned from a one-week layoff and dominated on the ground with two touchdowns while KC Concepcion dominated through the air with over 100 yards. Harold Fannin came back from the dead and recorded 91 receiving yards including a 36 yarder that clinched the game.

BAD – Denzel Boston was left out of the fun but will look to get back on track next week.

UGLY – Not today.

Tennessee

GOOD – Tony Pollard gave the Titans and his fantasy owners a golden opportunity to sell high after his remarkable three touchdown day. Start working those phones now!

BAD – It’s to be expected at this point but Cam Ward failed to throw a touchdown while throwing an interception.

UGLY - That’s five straight games with an interception for Cam Ward.

FALCONS 29 – 49ERS 20

Atlanta

GOOD – Michael Penix now has three touchdown passes in back-to-back weeks.

BAD – If I told you the Falcons would score 29 points and upset the 49ers you would assume Bijan Robinson had a big fantasy day. You would be wrong.

UGLY – Jahan Doston was starting to flirt with WR3 relevance but crashed and burned this week with only one catch.

San Francisco

GOOD – George Kittle keeps his high floor chugging along with 8 catches and 88 yards on Sunday.

BAD – In spite of all the injuries around him this season, Brock Purdy has still found a way to put up solid fantasy numbers, but this week was just too much.

UGLY – The injury gods are now bringing their ire to the doorsteps of Christian McCaffrey owners. It’s nothing serious as of now but something to monitor.

DOLPHINS 28 – JETS 25

Miami

GOOD – Malik Willis looked serviceable last week against the Dolphins and took it to another level against the hapless Jets’ defense this week accounting for 3 TDs. Caleb Douglas nabbed both touchdown passes, Ollie Gordon broke the 100-yard mark and Greg Dulcich looked unstoppable.

BAD – Unfortunately for the Dolphins they don’t play the Jets again until Week 12.

UGLY – Not today.

New York

GOOD – Omar Cooper went over 100 yards receiving and scored again this week establishing himself as not only the WR2 for the Jets but perhaps, the WR1B.

BAD – Garrett Wilson was an afterthought ending his day with 2 catches for 26 yards and having some choice words for Geno Smith and the coaches on the sideline.

UGLY – Kenyon Sadiq watched Mason Foster dominate the tight end targets and score two touchdowns.

STEELERS 16 – SAINTS 10

Pittsburgh

GOOD – Jaylen Warren rebounded from last week’s poor game to run for over 100 yards against the Saints fending off Rico Dowdle for another week.

BAD – It wasn’t all good for Warren owners as Rico Dowdle looked very solid as well recording 86 total yards of his own.

UGLY – After two huge weeks, Germie Bernard hit a major roadblock on his way to just 3 catches for 27 yards.

New Orleans

GOOD - Devaughn Vele snapped out of his two-game funk with a touchdown grab.

BAD – If Devaughn Vele leads off the good category you know there is plenty of bad.

UGLY – Tyler Shough led the Saints in rushing with 7 yards, edging out Kendre Miller’s 6 yards and Alvin Kamara’s 5 yards. I’m not even mad, that’s amazing.

Another Monday, another dump.

Every Monday, JJ Zachariason posts interesting nuggets for each team.

Here's one nugget for each team from Week 7. The full list goes out to our email list each week, and you can view all of Week 7 here: https://mailchi.mp/lateround/data-dump-week-7-2026

As always, feel free to list your favorite (or triggering) nugget in the comments, even if it's from the email.

Vikings: Jordan Addison has scored more than 10 PPR points in one game this year. That was against Tampa Bay in Week 3, a game where Justin Jefferson was injured.

Colts: Daniel Jones ranks last in the league with a 13.8% completion percentage on attempts that travel 20 or more air yards.

Dolphins: Ollie Gordon's rush and snap shares since becoming the RB1 in Week 4

Panthers: According to Late-Round Fantasy Football's adjusted points allowed numbers, the Panthers have faced two bottom-12 quarterback matchups this year (CLE, TB). In those games, Bryce Young scored 13.6 and 5.4 points. In his others, he's scored 31.4, 21.4, 21.5, and 19.8.

Buccaneers: The Buccaneers had an 18% pass rate in Week 7. That was the second-lowest pass rate in a game since at least 2016.

Bengals: Joe Burrow started his season with 14.2 and 16.2 standard points. Since then, over his last four, he's scored at least 22.6 in each contest. He's had four TDs in back-to-back games.

Ravens: Derrick Henry scored 5.0 PPR points in Week 6, and then he posted 5.9 in Week 7. Prior to this two-game stretch, he had gone 17 straight games with at least 10+ PPR points. He hasn't had a two-game stretch this bad since 2023.

Nico Collins: 23 (77% route share)

Dalton Schultz: 20 (67%)

Jaylin Noel: 15 (50%)

Xavier Hutchinson: 13 (46%)

Kayshon Boutte: 11 (37%)

Marvin Harrison Jr.: 8 (25%)

JK Dobbins: 12 snaps, 6 rushes, 1 route

RJ Harvey: 14 snaps, 3 rushes, 8 routes

Jonah Coleman: 28 snaps, 9 rushes, 6 routes

Cardinals: Michael Wilson has underperformed versus his expected PPR total in every single game this season. Jacoby Brissett is the biggest underperformer at quarterback across the year.

Packers: In Josh Jacobs' debut, he saw 54% of Green Bay's offensive snaps, a 58% rush share, and a 43.5% route share. He saw 20.5 expected PPR points, comfortably a top-10 number at running back this week.

Lions: Jameson Williams saw a 29% target share against the Packers. That was a season high, and it was the first time he'd been above a 20% target share since Week 1.

Raiders: Ashton Jeanty has converted just 1 of 9 goal-line rushes so far this year, but he ranks second among 47 running backs with 50 or more routes in yards per route run.

Rams: When the Rams have led by 7 or more points this year, Kyren Williams has out-snapped Blake Corum 75 to 52 (58% vs. 40%). When they've either trailed or been ahead by 6 or fewer points, that snap difference is 248 to 91 (71% vs. 26%).

Seahawks: Sam Darnold scored 17.7 standard fantasy points back in Week 3 against the Commanders. Since then, he's scored 13.3, 8.3, 11.0, and 14.0 standard points.

Chiefs: Patrick Mahomes hasn't hit 20 fantasy points in a game since Week 2. He's averaged 12.4 standard points per game over his last four. Only Bo Nix has a lower air yards per attempt rate out of the 32 quarterbacks with 100+ attempts this season.

Jaylen Waddle against the Arizona Cardinals: 4 catches, 48 yards, 0 TD

I was really hoping his lack of early-season production was due to Denver's brutal early schedule and that this week he would start to turn things around, but I guess not. He's been one of the bigger disappointments of the first half of the season and it's looking increasingly unlikely that he's going to turn it around.

Week 7 Fantasy Takeaways: Brock Purdy’s Slump, Skattebo Explodes on Your Bench

Thumbnail fantasybuff.substack.com
20 Upvotes

Week 7 was a cruel one. Cam Skattebo went from zero touches to 124 yards and a score the week most of you finally benched him. Brock Purdy kept sliding without Mike Evans, two more backfields officially turned into committees, and Jordan Mason may have just become the most important add of the week. Some of you are celebrating, some of you are staring at your bench in disbelief. Let’s get into it.

Fresh off of IR and commanding the lion's share of the backfield work, Coleman is likely to see even more opportunities going forward, according to Payton. Rookie looked good out there today.

Mod Post [Mod Note] About Monday Player Discussion/Reaction Posts

Our readers have asked us to police sites spamming us with redundant clutter for karma and clicks.

Between the JJ Zachariason weekly data dump and PFF's comprehensive charts from yesterday, it feels like every little factoid you think is worth discussing is already posted somewhere and you can discuss them in either—and that all similar posts addressing individual players and teams can be deleted as clutter under Rules 3 and 4.

If you think this wrong, and you want individual posts with titles like "Tony Pollard had 25 rushes for 129 yards and three touchdowns in the Titans’ Week 7 loss to the Browns, adding three catches for 26 yards" or "Christian Kirk not targeted in debut," let us know. We are listening.

Do his performances in the absence of Price and Charbonnet warrant a solid spot for him in the backfield? What do you guys think?

He outscored my Swift, J Warren, Marks and Corum.
