Self-submission Ugolyok, the black hole
Meet Ugolyok. A 10-billion-year-old black hole, but only 5 years old by singularity standards. He is mute, has 40cm eyes, and is very picky about what he eats.

Self-submission Gargoyle by me
Today Iâm drawing a gargoyle, one of those stone creatures you might find perched on an old church or cathedral, silently watching the streets below.
Often carved with monstrous faces, gargoyles have long been associated with warding off evil and frightening away those that might threaten the people inside. They also have a more practical purpose. Technically, a gargoyle is a waterspout that carries rainwater away from a buildingâs walls. Without that function, the carving is called a âgrotesque.â Now you know.
In fantasy and horror, the gargoyle gets to leave its perch. In Tales From the Darkside: The Movie, they can even fall in love and have a family. In Disneyâs Gargoyles, they spend their nights battling criminals above the streets of Manhattan. And in the 1972 film Gargoyles, theyâre preparing to wage war against humanity. So, their career paths may vary.Â
Personally, I can appreciate a monster that protects your home from supernatural threats, while also helping to prevent potentially costly water damage. Itâs hard to find someone willing to do both.

Self-submission The Storm Warning
The weather advisory warned of zero visibility, but it wasn't just moisture keeping the sunlight out. If you look closely past the fourteenth floor, you can see it shifting its weight against the upper atmosphere, filtering the air through wet, soundless gasps. The city below has stopped blowing their car horns, realizing that any sudden noise causes the massive, suspended shapes to lean down a few hundred feet closer

Self-submission Wendigo by me
Today Iâm drawing a Wendigo, a creature associated with winter, starvation, and cannibalism in the traditions of several Algonquian-speaking indigenous societies. For this design, Iâm taking inspiration from its modern horror depiction, with antlers and a skeletal face.Â
Stories vary between traditions, but a recurring theme is a hunger that can never be satisfied. No matter how much it eats, the hunger remains. Another meal, another victim, and still no relief.Â
Itâs an image of greed taken to its extreme, forever taking more, even as thereâs less and less to take.
Which feels familiar in the modern day as we watch billionaires treating the planetâs resources like their own personal stockpile. More land, more money, more power. Already more than they could use in a hundred lifetimes, but somehow still not enough. If having more means everyone else has less, well, apparently thatâs everyone elseâs problem.Â
Iâm not saying theyâre Wendigos, but I donât think another tax break is going to satisfy the hunger. Â

Long arms, gaunt face, wearing a tie and hidden behind a mask, this is how this person lives in liminal places.
