For those of you who make a lot of socks, are you really drying them flat all the time?
If you can’t be bothered to dry flat, do you pay attention to the drying instructions on the labels for super wash yarns, or just go for it and assume they can be dried in the dryer (on low)?
I have enjoyed the socks I’ve made so far, and want to make more, but I haven’t found all that many sock yarns that allow for machine drying.

I am outrageously pleased 😁🍾
This is the Wise Hilda's Basic Ribbed Sock done on 2.5mm needles in size Small using Biscotte self-striping yarn (85% merino 15% nylon) in the colourway Bis Sock Groovy bought while on vacation in Montréal. 45g left from the 100g so maybe some shorties?

Hello. My goal for the day is to finish weaving in all the loose ends in these socks.
The pattern is Lopi Sweater Socks from
Summer Lee’s booked titled “The Sock Obsession.” I used four different colors as called for in the pattern but did modify the pattern a bit. The pattern called dor a rolled hem at the cuff but I omitted that. I had a limited amount of the pink yarn so I knit until the pink yarn ran out, used a contrasting color for the toes, then inserted an afterthought it heel at the end.
Various brands of yarn:
Palmer Yarns (pink)
Madeline Tosh (blue and beige)
Stunning String Studio (brown)

Made these socks from Charming Colorwork Socks by Charlotte Stone. Did the second size. I'm not very happy about how the colorwork turned out, some stitches just look too big, there is a bit of bunching going on in some places. If anyone has any tips I would be very thankful. I really like how colorwork socks look but need way more practice for them to look as good as what I see on this sub.

I’m making these vanilla socks with Patons Kroy self striping sock yarn (Mexicala stripes colorway - I don’t care for it but my gift recipient does) and look! I matched up the colors for the heel so precisely they will be twins, not just sisters. I don’t count rows for heel flap and gusset socks, I make the heel to measure, so this is usually really hard to do for me but it worked out so well.
Also yes the recipient has the longest instep I’ve ever seen 😂

Same yarn, same batch, different balls.
I generally knit two socks together but on their own set of dpn's. The sock on the left is exactly what the little sample on the label shows. The sock on the right has a much more defined diagonal, that got broader after turning the heel. The (short row) heels look the same in both socks.
This was supposed to be a pair, but because they're so different and the balls are 100g each, I'll probably make a second sock for each of these and try to plan the pooling this time.

My third pair of socks! I loved this Mossy Path sock pattern. The repeating motif was easy to memorise and simple to knit. It was a great introduction to cabling. I made them on 2.25mm Chiagoo DPNs. The wool is Sally Ridgway 4-ply Supreme Sock in Blue Denim. Next time I’ll make the leg section longer. It feels so great to have finished a project, and so great to wear them!

I really can not get my sock to fit nice and get it over my heel. My heel is 5 cm wider then my leg, usually I use a 56 stitch count, 60 does not fit (and can not find a pattern with cuff only 2 colour colourwork that goes to 64 and back)
Worked inside out already, my fingers can not handle shorties and went back multiple times. As soon as I go past 3 rows of colourwork it just gets stuck.
Any tips?

Learned a few things:
-DPNs are great but flexible DPNs are better
-managing floats is tricky at first but once you get the hang of it, you’re golden
-Fish Kiss Lips Heels are confusing at first but they’re really pretty
-I got the hang of English knitting as I figured out managing two strands of yarn. I normally knit continental.
Off to sock number 2!

For the first sock my colours were generally pretty nice and random but for the second sock there is obvious pooling starting. Same yarn (being pulled from the same direction), same stitch count, same needles. Does anyone know how this happens? Is there anything I can change or should just embrace that my socks will be sisters and not twins? Thanks!!

This is my first time knitting socks or knitting at all.(I knitted popcorn Yarn but that's not much)
I didn't know fixed circular needles help me alot. I tried before with normal needles and magic loop with circular needles but I didn't understand at all. I gave up knitting few years ago, and then I got fixed needles. I don't mind knitting fine yarn now. It's so fun to knitting socks🐷

The top green stitch marker I thought I had marked as the start of my toe but it feels as the decreases actually didn’t start until the green. Trying to make my second sock now and I’m conflicted how to match up.

A while ago I posted here about being afraid to start the heel on my first sock. Well, after all your kind words and advice I did it! Started over with new yarn, and finished my first pair of socks 🥳 First two pictures are my very first pair, 3th and 4th picture the first sock of my second pair I am working on now ☺️
Thank you all so very much for your help!! ❤️

First time working with this yarn, so gorgeous and squishy…I’ve ordered another to make a cowl with.
I think the colour way looks a little volcanic 🌋
ETA colour way is 11555

Hello, sock friends. I’m sorry if this kind of post isn’t allowed, I can take it down if necessary. I just needed to vent a little and this seemed like a place that would Get It.
I’ve always been visually-impaired, but I love knitting. I really love knitting socks. I had surgery for a retinal detachment in July, and since then, because I have an oil bubble in my eye, my vision is blurry. Thankfully, I’ve been able to work on some of my knitting projects, but I haven’t been able to manage socks again yet. I miss knitting socks. I’ve already decided that once my vision stabilizes after the bubble-removal surgery, socks are the first thing I’m casting on. That’s all. Thanks for listening. (I included a picture I took when I finished my first-ever socks, just for fun).

Starting another sock because it’s cozy sock season. These will be a gift for a friend/coworker

I recently had a foot injury at work and never wore this sock, which is the first thing I knit and now the only sock I can get on my foot. Now that I'm going to be stuck home for a while I'm going to finish the other one, it's been sitting for over a year. Pattern is Hermione's everyday socks by Erica Lueder

And my design Village Socks are one of them. They're all about warmth, simplicity, and a cozy, homey feel.
They are perfect for cool winter, autumn, and spring days.

These socks are a variant on Lauren Rad’s Dynamic Range socks: https://ravel.me/dynamic-range
I did the heel from Ducathi’s Samba socks: https://ravel.me/samba-socks-3
It’s a sole of the foot gusset, followed by Elizabeth Zimmerman’s Arch-Shaped Stocking: https://www.schoolhousepress.com/arch-shaped-stocking-spp2.html
The yarn is Zauberball Crazy

Pattern is Echoes From Karelia by Tiina Kuu. I’m in love with this sock so far. As soon as I saw the pattern I knew I needed to make a pair. All yarns are Cascade Heritage.
