Do the Wizards want to make it impossible to legally watch their team in their own market?

I’m a Hawks fan, but the Wizards have become my second team for obvious reasons. I’m currently in the DMV visiting family and I can’t use league pass for the wizards and my family has cable but they don’t have monumental sports network because it’s a 40 dollar monthly upcharge on the cable bill then the online subscription is an outlandish 20 bucks a month. I hate piracy because I don’t wanna risk slowing my computer down with viruses (not for ethical reasons). I’m probably the 100th person to complain about this but I decided to complain anyway! Why isn’t it easier to watch the local team? What sense does that make??

ALEX SARR IS COMING OFF FOOT SURGERY

• Upvotes

Everybody needs to calm down. I was at the game tonight. The loss sucked and the rebounding was horrible, but can we all chill out on saying sarr can't be a starting center? The dude made massive strides last season, moved most of his scoring into the paint, and started rebounding. He's also put on some muscle since he came into the league.

Let the guy get back into basketball shape before you make a judgement on him. We have a somewhat promising start to a season and immediately turn on our young guys after one bad loss?

[Robbins] Justin Champagnie, Washington’s rebounding wizard, is proving himself

CHICAGO — If height was the only trait that matters in basketball, Justin Champagnie would not be as important to the Washington Wizards as he’s been early this season. He stands a shade under 6 feet 6 in bare feet, a less-than-ideal size for someone who specializes in rebounding.

Desire, smarts and toughness matter, too, and Champagnie possesses all of those characteristics in abundance.

Champagnie proved his mettle yet again late in Saturday night’s third quarter against the Chicago Bulls. After a Bulls player missed a 3-pointer from the top of the arc, the loose basketball deflected off Washington’s Trae Young and Chicago’s Matas Buzelis and careened toward Champagnie and Chicago’s Jalen Smith.

Smith is a 6-foot-9 center, and his wingspan is nearly five inches longer than Champagnie’s.

The physical advantage belonged to Smith. The ball belonged to Champagnie.

Wizards @ Bulls 10/26/26 Team Net Points

Another game, another game review supported by ESPN’s advanced analytics department. Remember stats aren’t the end all be all. Just a reminder about net points:

“It quantifies every rebound, shot, turnover and free throw and assigns credit and blame to the players on the court. It divides credit and blame based on the difficulty of the players' contributions to the success or failure of the team.”

Here are today’s net points! I think today’s game was pretty legible. Justin Champaigne went down and we lost. No one was able to handle Moussa Diabate on the boards as he was able to secure a double-double off of OFFENSIVE boards. Simply put the Wizards are not functionally big. Despite boasting gaudy height and wingspans they play smaller than they are. Trae was today’s MVP which I agree with. He is the system. AD deserves his flowers today the offense was buoyed with Davis’ isos when he was off the floor. Bilal is not viable offensively. I know the goal is 3&d but to me the most important thing for me is that HAS to start making shots at the rim. I think Bub was better than his net point ratings—his threes were life changing. Brandon Miller fried us no need to break that down. I don’t understand why we didn’t blitz him because his handle is okay and he can’t make reads when trapped. Threw a couple wild ones off of pressure. I can go on and on about the game but we move. 78 games to go. Prayers up for AJ and JC.

I just hope AJ stays healthy after this and when he does come back; he just balls out and shows everyone why he deserved to be the #1 overall pick

Basically the title, it keeps showing the blue annoying ass screen with music. It’s 5 minutes into the first quarter.

It’s still October. We have November, December, January, February, March, And April (not including play-in and playoffs). Thats 6 months and 78 games left to play. We haven’t even seen Dybantsa yet. A LOT is going to change in the next few months alone

Deep inhale. Deep exhale

We built a roster of tall young guys but they are soft af.

• Upvotes

Especially Sarr. We gotta start trading them and get some rebounding and 3 point specialists.

We had 3 years of straight tanking and the young guys have had the floor all to themseleves. If they haven’t developed by now, It's not magically going to happen this season.

This kid is a mf star man. If he’s given the time and leeway to fully develop i can see him breaking Gil & Beal’s 60 point single game record

Hawks fan here. I’ll be going to catch the wizards vs hawks game at capital one arena. I should be landing in the afternoon, any recommendations for things to do or places to eat during the afternoon? Will I be able to park near the arena? Is traffic crazy? Thanks

How much do you expect AJ Dybantsa to lift the half court offense?

Wanted to make back to back posts because I just have some thoughts from what I've seen this week.

2-1 and a lot to be encouraged about. Lost to the good team, blew out the to disaster team, comeback against the bad one. That's about right if you just consider tiers going into the season.

I feel like the half court offense has been very up and down thus far. Some of it is of course just chemistry, but the shooting hasn't been great. Too many possessions where the ball sticks. When they play with pace they can score in the half court but they have been at their best offensively so far in transition and the offensive glass and beating teams up with size.

I feel you all could really use a guy in the half court who can consistently generate paint touches from the perimeter. Hence, the question above. How much do you think AJ returning will uplift the offense of this team?
