Heavy, around 5 to 10 pounds each, seemingly machined out of solid steel, no markings or moving parts. Received in a package despite not ordering them or anything like them, cannot find any information about the shipper listed on the box.

What is this strange gate? Access route to power lines through forest. Galvanized, fairly robust, horizontal hinges..

I'm not sure what the point of the horizontal bars are...

I guess it would make it harder to ram the gate,

Open ! A table with a slightly recessed top with a depressed surface near one end. Found at a thrift store, the table is about 25” tall, 3’ long and 18” wide.

The table appears to be made of painted beechwood while the surface is stained wood. The depressed area makes me think the table is made for sorting or is intended for some sort of game.

Open ! Old House Storage Slots between kitchen and dining room

Thumbnail

My friend just moved into a house that had a storage cabinet in between the dining room and kitchen. At first I thought it might be for table leafs but there are too many slots. And the upper slots are much taller than the lower slots. They are about 2 to 2.5 feet deep with a solid wall in the rear. The bottoms are recessed as if designed to keep whatever is stored centered in the slots. I also wondered if it could have been for shutters since there is an even number. What do you think ?

What’s the function of the flip down “seat” in the back? Seems very specialized. Found at an antique shop, no maker’s mark.

It’s about 13.5 inches wide and four inches tall, but isn’t flat on the bottom. It seems like it can fit a lot in it but have no clue if it’s to be used for something like fruit?

2000/90's hair accessory, decoration

Can't name this hair accessory. They came in small, cheap packages. They were long strips/straps of rolled, metallic plastic, similar to a slap/snap bracelet, you would roll it open, place it on a small section of hair, and release. It rolled back over your hair and looked like a metallic bead. But it's NOT a bead or a cuff. It's just a rolled long strips of plastic.

My friend had it in 2004. Here it's seen on the hair of Enid (Thora Birch) in the movie Ghost World from 2001.

I was away for a week on vacation and when I came back home there is is patch of white substance splattered on my floor. My house has been completely empty while I have been gone. It’s slightly tacky to the touch and washes away with water, I tried smelling it and it seems to be odourless. I’m completely clueless as to what it could be!

Open ! It consists of an elongated section (~6 inch) that appears to be made of rigid, transparent plastic, with a ribbed end. A metal cross sits on top of it with flat guard separates the two parts, somewhat like the crossguard of a sword.

Open ! Hardened resin-like small pieces found in bed

Thumbnail

I keep finding these hardened resin-like pieces in my bed randomly. I feel like the size varies every time I find one. I do have an indoor cat, and I originally thought it might be an extremely weird ball of his ear wax, but it’s just so strange. I highly doubt it has anything to do with bugs, but I suspect it might have something to do with my cat since it’s only started while I’ve had him. However, I’ve had him a year & this has been happening for a couple months. Pls help I’m so concerned
