Pardon the grandbaby trying to eat my camera - but soooooo cool to come across!! I understand their heads don’t really go allll the way around but freaky neat to see!!

Lived her 17 years and this is the third time seeing an owl. There was no missing their massive shadow overhead as they flew into the tree. Made my entire year.

This is one of my fave owl photos that I have taken of these adorable Great Horned Owlets. Hope you enjoy as much as I do.

Caught him hunting sparrows at midnight, he lives right above them in the palm tree

Two GHOs in San Diego that I saw last week

I know the only reliable way to tell is based on size. These are the only pictures I have of the pair next to each other, so I'm wondering if anyone can tell which is the male and which is the female? I think the red one is female and the gray one is male, but I'm not completely sure

Middle TN Raptor Center hosted a free event at Wild Birds Unlimited. It was amazing. I’d never been so close to an owl. It was intimidating with some of them. I also learned a lot of cool new things!
Great horned owls love to eat skunks but a skunk spray directly to the face can kill them!
1. Eastern screech owl
2. Great horned owl
3. Barred owl
At the event they also had a red tailed hawk and a kestrel.

met the handler and GHO at a fundraising brunch and was delighted how well these ambassador animals are
handled, recognizing when they were stressed, moving them to quiet areas when needed and the ever meaningful education that the ambassador animals are not pets and are not raised to show off but are those animals unfortunately too compromised to be released 🥰

Meet All Things Wild Rehab’s ambassador GHO - in case anyone loves owls as much as I do 😜
