Been talking to a guy I met on pretty much all the dating apps. Now I have some stupid crush on him because of his stupid charming personality and I'm so mad that I want to buy him something.
Been looking for Puerto Rican artists/folk artists to research so I can get him something for his home but I get bombarded with AI or music or weird post-colonial nonsense instead of folk art or Taino art and culture. Any recommendations or names come to mind? Looking for recommendations for Puerto Rican painters, folk artists, or Taino inspired stuff that focus on his culture and roots.

Diet of the non-native spectacled caiman (Caiman crocodilus) in Puerto Rico
In the 1960’s, it was introduced in Puerto Rico principally associated with the legal caiman pet trade during these times (Thomas and Joglar 1996). A combination of deliberate and accidental release from caiman pet owners is likely to be the cause of introduction to the natural environment. Thomas and Joglar (1996) documented the presence of Caiman crocodilus in the northern coastal plains of the island with the Tortuguero Lagoon Natural Reserve (TLNR) as its source of proliferation.
Stranger in a Lost Paradise: Caiman crocodilus, Puerto Rico’s Own Aliengator

In the early 1970’s Caiman crocodilus was successfully introduced in spring-fed Lake Tortuguero, the geographic center of the northern limestone aquifer and wetland belt that supplies at least a quarter of the island’s drinking water. This is also the principal metropolitan region, featuring major conglomerates of pharmaceutical, electronic and allied chemical industries. Its water resources have been diagnosed as critically contaminated by toxic wastes. The region boasts high incidences of cancers, ontogenetic abnormalities and endocrine disorders.
Caiman crocodilus
https://nas.er.usgs.gov/queries/factsheet.aspx?SpeciesID=222
Means of Introduction: When trade in baby Alligator mississippiensis, American alligators, became illegal, the pet industry imported thousands of young C. crocodilus as a substitute, from the 1950s through the early 1980s, with numerous pet escapes and intentional releases as a consequence (King and Krakauer, 1966; Webb, 1970; Bury and Luckenbach, 1978; Ellis, 1980; Wilson and Porras, 1983; Grenard, 1991; Bartlett, 1994; McCann et al., 1996; Rivero, 1998).
Most nonindigenous occurrences of C. crocodilus are from these releases. Additional, common caiman were added to Dade County, Florida, following the destruction of their holding facilities by Hurricane Andrew in 1992 (Belleville, 1994). Rivero (1998) provides two other hypotheses for the means of introduction of common caiman in Puerto Rico: 1) The animals were intentionally stocked by illegal narcotics traffickers to protect their site of operation, and 2) they were intentionally stocked by an individual attempting to "enrich" the island's fauna. These hypotheses are not as likely as the introduction of exotic pets (Rivero, 1998).
Crocodylus acutus
https://nas.er.usgs.gov/queries/FactSheet.aspx?speciesID=223
Means of Introduction: This crocodile was illegally transported to Virginia then released into the swamp (Mitchell, 1994). Pet release in Puerto Rico. Although the island of Puerto Rico is outside the normal native range for this species, an adult could theoretically have swum to Puerto Rico; however, because the individual collected was a juvenile, it is believed to be the result of a pet release. This same area also hosts a population of spectacled caiman (C. crocodylus) that resulted from pet releases (Lever, 2003; Kraus, 2009).
Tertiary crocodylians from Puerto Rico: Evidence for Late Tertiary endemic crocodylians in the West Indies?
https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0016699506001045
Fragmentary fossils from northwestern Puerto Rico document the existence of crocodyliforms during the Late Oligocene and Early Miocene. The remains are insufficient to establish new named species, but they are inconsistent with any other crocodylian known from the western hemisphere during the Cenozoic, including extant Alligator and Crocodylus. They are thus consistent with the hypothesis that Crocodylus is a comparatively recent immigrant into the West Indies and suggest that, as with Australasia and Africa, the Antilles hosted an endemic clade of crocodylians during the Tertiary, later replaced by Crocodylus.
First Report of a Quaternary Crocodylian from a Cave Deposit in Northern Puerto Rico
https://agris.fao.org/search/es/records/65dfcf2463b8185d9caf147e
The first occurrence of crocodylians from the Quaternary of mainland Puerto Rico is reported from a cave in northern Puerto Rico: this record expands the distribution of crocodylians eastward in the Caribbean region during this period. The occurrence of crocodylians in the Quaternary of Puerto Rico adds another taxon to the current list of extinct fauna of the island. The collection location of four mammalian species, four reptiles, and two amphibians, is also shown on the first published map of this site, called Cueva Salida (Exit Cave). The fossil assemblage supports both previous interpretation of more xeric conditions in the area and a probable Quaternary age for this deposit.
