Announcement Introducing Claude Opus 5.5, the first model in our new Claude 5.5 family

Opus 5.5 performs at the level of Claude Fable 5.1 for most tasks, and costs 40% less to run than Opus 5.

Opus 5.5 is our first release since we called for pacing the frontier. External evaluators, including Frontier Design and METR, tested it before release. On our most comprehensive alignment test, it’s the strongest-performing model we’ve tested to date.

It outperforms both Opus 5 and Fable 5.1 on nearly every benchmark we report, leading on agentic coding and real-world knowledge work.

It’s also more efficient. Opus 5.5 uses fewer tokens per task at a lower price per token, and generates output more than 30% faster than Opus 5.

Opus 5.5 communicates more naturally, addressing some of the most common feedback we heard on Opus 5. It puts the most important information up front and follows the writing rules you give it.

Claude Opus 5.5 is available everywhere today. We're also raising five-hour limits on Pro, Max, and Team plans, so there’s more room to explore what it can do.

Complaint Are we being fr rn ??

Got hit with this bs randomly, I'm an adult btw.

They won't get MY ASS to submit a gov id.

Edit: ok I get it that I talk like a kid because I'm 19, but y'all are missing the fucking point. It's still a dick move to suspend my account just because "they thought I was a kid". I SHOULD NOT be asked to submit my face or my gov id just to use an LLM. Fuck corpos, and if you support this shit, then fuck you too.

Edit 2: the amount of people defending this bullshit is diabolical. Either y'all are anthropic bots, or genuinely don't understand what this really means.

Mega corps DO NOT GIVE A FUCK about child safety. All they care about is money, and profiling us normal folk to control us. They want to COMPLETELY STRIP AWAY our privacy. Me talking like a "child" is NONE OF THEIR CONCERN, i SHOULD NOT have to submit my id to them. Y'all are hung up on the wrong shit.

Account banned for making a tool for my game? seriously, all i was doing was asking it to make a template generator for godot. and i hadnt used it in 2 days. I went to log in and said i was on hold. i appealed it and within an hour it was total ban on account with no reason. Is there another way to appeal or am I out of luck? It was a 200$ account. Crazy part is it was supposed to renew in 2 days. It really sucks cuz GPT is not as good, but I have no other options. Any help with my situation?

Other An engineer claimed a teammate-led project as their own and now has an Anthropic offer

• Upvotes

An engineer has a teammate they genuinely can't stand. In their view, he's a credit-stealer, condescending, and has made their life harder for a couple of years. When redoing their resume for the job hunt, the engineer listed a project as their own when the honest version is that he led it and they were a significant contributor. Not a total fabrication—they did real work on it and could talk through every technical decision—but the framing put them in the driver's seat.

That project was a centerpiece of the interview loop. The engineer spoke about it fluently because they understood it, and now has an Anthropic offer. On one hand, they feel this teammate stole credit from them and others for years, so some petty part of them feels like they took back a little of what karma owed them. On the other, they feel kind of weird about it. And now they can't sleep.

Resources Flexible vs Moralistic Claude/Anthropic

I’m sure many of you have already noticed that the later versions of Anthropic’s models—Sonnet, Opus, and Fable—are highly moralistic. They refuse to do anything they can’t independently verify. That becomes a problem when writing sales messages or copy, where you might want to slightly exaggerate or bend the truth (without outright lying). These newer models won’t touch that kind of request; they insist on full verification and apply their own moral standards. If you want a more flexible version of Claude, drop down to Opus 4.6—it will do pretty much anything you ask without needing to be convinced.

Good to know! ⬆️

Announcement Built an open-source live token optimizer for Claude Code, codex, opencode usage

I’m a senior SWE and use AI coding tools heavily, so I built optimAIzr after getting tired of wasting tokens without noticing. (Also it does much more than this)

The tool works entirely locally, no read of prompts.

Git: https://github.com/blendbunjaku/optimaizr

Would love feedback from other devs using AI heavily.

Complaint Accounts suspended after upgrading from 5x to 20x without a full refund

Post image
47 Upvotes

Our team (3) uses 4 Claude accounts, but lately, the token limits haven't been enough for our workload. Even though our workload hasn't changed, tokens seem to be burning much faster - we burnt two accounts in a single day - before they can run for 2-3 days. To keep working, we created a new account and followed our usual playbook to maximize usage: upgrading to the 5x plan first, and later jumping to the 20x plan to reset the limit.

The 5x upgrade worked fine for a few days, but just hours after upgrading to 20x, the account was suspended (though we did get a refund for the 20x purchase). Not give up, we made another account. It ran fine on the 5x plan for a few days until we hit the weekly limit. Once again, we upgraded to 20x, and the account was suspended five hours later for a "Policy Violation" - and this time without a refund. It seems like Anthropic has flagged this upgrade method as a policy violation? Or are they just trying to force us onto the expensive API?

At this point, I love Claude more than Anthropic. It's a shame, and I honestly hope OAI or another lab catches up to Opus 5.5 soon so we have better alternatives. If that happens, I'll likely cancel all of our accounts.

Improvements New recommendation: Agent orchestration

I expected this to arrive but not so soon!

So now with the latest models it appears that the session itself can do all the orchestration work instead of us deciding how to do the sub agents although, and some of the modes it obviously spins out the agents automatically but in this case it looks like it just doesn't mean the same session.

https://the-decoder.com/anthropic-says-one-ai-agent-beats-many-subagents-now-that-models-can-handle-complexity-alone/

Resources 5 most underrated Claude Connectors that I use in 2026

Everybody lists out connectors like Gmail or Calendar like people don't know they exist. There remain much better and more useful connectors than those. So here is the list of the most underrated connectors in 2026:

1) LetsFG- Very important because it is annoying to manually search for tens of hotels + their hundreds of reviews before booking a hotel. I type: "Find 3 hotels in Lisbon for 4 nights, only me and my wife, and show me the total with every fee plus the cancel date. Ignore any hotel with consistent noise or customer service complaint." With reviews checking, Claude can also expose any hidden fees customer complained about.

2) AllTrails- If you are into hiking, this is really cool. It searches a huge trail database (500,000+ trails) for you. Ask it something like: "Find 3 easy hikes within 1 hour of Lisbon that are good for a Sunday morning with a dog, under 2 hours each, and tell me which one has the most shade." It is way more efficient than going through reviews manually yourself and wasting hours.

3) Consensus- It searches real scientific papers (200M+) and answers some complex questions with actual proven data. You can ask something like: "Does creatine actually help memory? Look at the studies and tell me what most of them say and how strong the evidence is." It is the first thing I use before I believe any scientific facts on the internet.

4) PubMed- This one is strongly about medical papers. You can ask: "Find the 3 most recent studies on intermittent fasting and sleep and tell me in plain words what they actually found." For medical stuff use PubMed, but for general information from any papers, use Consensus.

5) Legal Data Hunter- This one is incredible if you want any information about the laws. Works very well for normal people as well as for lawyers or law students. It reads the official laws and court rulings of 160+ countries (EU law included), so Claude quotes the real source and doesn't guess. You can ask: "My flight in Spain was cancelled. Find the EU rules on compensation and tell me what I can claim." Please be aware that it is a research tool, but not a lawyer.

Enjoy :) If you have any other underrated connector, drop it below

Complaint Got backed off while doing some scoping work on an SBIR

I work for and on defense projects and am working on the early stages of an SBIR proposal.

I was doing some feasibility estimation on a non weapons project and got a refusal to continue.

Anyine encounter this type situation? I wasn't even trying to produce results, just scope out practicality of a method. Claude on its own decided to write a tool to simulate the situation without my asking.

Don't want to mis step and get my account banned. Got a lot of paperwork to do.

Other How do you prep for Anthropic’s culture round and tell good stories?

A candidate preparing for Anthropic interviews is especially concerned about the culture round. They don't need a question bank—they already have a DarkInterview membership. For readers applying to other companies too, application autofill can cut repeated typing.

Readers wanting examples can use Anthropic Interview Questions to rehearse motivation and AI-safety answers from real experience. How do you prepare for the culture round and tell good stories? Is it okay to make up stories?

Other Prepping for Anthropic SWE interviews got a candidate called “scum of the earth” by the girl they’re seeing

An SWE candidate has been seeing a girl for a couple of months. When the candidate mentioned prepping for Anthropic interviews, she completely flipped. Called them scum of the earth, said working on AI is destroying the world, and that anyone chasing those jobs is part of the problem. Readers applying across companies can reduce repeated form entry with LandOffer’s application autofill.

For readers also doing the interview prep, Anthropic Interview Questions has reported coding and system-design prompts to rehearse.

The candidate tried to explain their stance, but she wasn't having it. They don't know how to feel about this. They really like her, but think she's being so unreasonable.

Complaint Claude refuses judges and evals if they include a request for reasoning

Like the title says, in an attempt to (I assume) block distillation, Claude has been intermittently blocking my actual real judges and eval requests when they include a request for the reasoning behind the decision.

Example: “the following sentence show that the speaker is angry, yes or no? Provide reasoning

SENTENCE”

then ask for a structured output including the decision and the reasoning.

If Anthropic wants people to adopt their products in real world use cases, “just trust me bro” is not acceptable amount of verification to trust the outputs.

Has anyone else run into this issue or found a way around it?
