Ms 182
Hey everyone
I'm new to chainsaw and I know nothing about it. I'm thinking of buying Ms 182 which suits me for my orchard work which requires a less powerful saw. But I'm confused between this and Husqvarna 135 mark II.
Thanks
She has teeth
Fell for one of the classic blunders, assuming I had proper footing. Ms441c bit me when I took a spill on some sandstone cutting a 2'diameter pine. Worst part is when you brace for the fall and got to decide to catch yourself or drop the saw. I did neither. I dropped the saw teeth first on my left calf. Lesson 2. It's not summer and I'm going to get fitted with some work overalls. Be careful out there. When I braced for my fall, the hand on the saw accidentally revved the engine and I pooped my pants thinking I'm about to amputate my favorite leg. Call me humbled

iMow 422 Error M4011

Stihl KM blower driveshaft part number
Hi guys, just picked up a Stihl kombi motor with many attachments for cheap. I found out that the blower attachment doesn’t have a driveshaft like the others have. Do you know what part number it is? I searched online and couldn’t find it. Thanks

Scrap bin 461
Pulled this saw out of the dump a few months back and have been tinkering with it in my spare time, needed a tune up, fuel line, impulse line and a clutch and have been using it all weekend to buck up some willow and fir and the thing has just been absolutely ripping.
Steel Cable On FS91
There are no stupid questions…right?
I have a large section (5+ acres) of mixed bush that I’m looking to clean up before winter.
I have a brush blade, but I find with the thicker grass sections it isn’t as effective. There’s also lots of hidden small rocks that can quickly dull the blade.
I understand that the general sentiment is against steel cable line as it easily damages surfaces and structures. I will be nowhere near anything sensitive however, and cabling that isn’t as weak as the plastics I’ve tried would really be what I’m looking for.
Does anyone else run something similar? If I don’t care about minor surface scratches, what else should I be worried about using steel cable?
Stihl MS 261
I was about ready to process some firewood when I saw the washer looking thing come after a pull. Didn't know what it was so shut it down. After looking, it lines up with the sprocket that the chain attaches to. So I'm figuring that's where it goes. Why did it pop out?
But... Maybe the bigger question, but also maybe the answer, Is the "Knob Thingy" in the middle of the sprocket supposed to be dead center? In the 2nd picture, you can see its not.

Mtronic Question
Is a brief throttle hanging after wide open in the cut normal? Saw might have 6-10 tanks through it. Tried the reset and still getting it. Maybe it’s my ocd but never noticed it on any of my others. Right at the end as I pull out of the log.

Ms 180 choke issue
In the first picture you can see how the trigger and throttle will move easily but the metal kill switch is on . In the second picture I got one back but the black piece stops throttle - what the hell am I doing wrong ?

Rz760ik
Purchased one of the 760s this year damn thing runs great for sure. Was wondering on blades what is everyone using? Looking for a set of mulch blades I have yet to actually go pull one blade off to check the center hole but everything I see shows a 1” with 3.5” rise.
What throws me off and I have verified the length. It was a 60 inch deck in each blade is 21 inches long. Maybe my math isn’t mathing out. And I have read some blade timing. I’m more worried if that belt slips a little bit it’s going to collide those blades together.
And again, I have not actually jacked it up and looked underneath too much
Just to see what anyone has to say

Neue Tophandle mit Akku - Erfahrungen Stihl MSA 190 T?
Moin zusammen,

I have a big house with a lot of garden, fruit trees, etc., and was thinking iof buying a Chainsaw. Previously had the oldest versions of MS 170 but it never felt like enough. The chainsaw died and i wanna turn battery. Is it a good choice or should i get a smaller model?

Does this Stihl MS 661 Piston look good? Has great compression and runs great, but I just was doing a check-up on the saw and was wondering. It looks good to me.

Best 14” saw
Hey guys – relatively unconventional question. I own a large heavy hardwood timber property with lots of ongoing maintenance. I have a big Stihl for the large work, but I'm looking for a compact, professional-grade saw to run a 14" bar. I'd prefer to stay with Stihl but am open to other brands.
When I'm cutting, I run it long and hard all day, so it needs to start hot every time. I'm often far from the shop (and town), so reliability trumps almost everything else.
I wish I'd grabbed a 241 before they disappeared, but here I am. Currently weighing:
- MS 261 C-M (heavier than the 241, worth it?)
- Importing a 241 C-M from Europe (anyone done this, and how's dealer support?)
Specific questions:
- Real-world hot-start reliability on M-Tronic vs. carbureted saws?
- 14" vs 16" on a 261 for hardwood limbing and bucking?
- Chain pitch/type you'd run in hardwood (.325 vs 3/8 LP, full vs semi-chisel)?
- any word on the MS 300C coming to the US?
- what do you carry in the field for repairs when you're far from help?
Happy to configure something custom too. Appreciate any input.

MS 300CM
Has anyone in the USA have this saw yet or have used one?
Want to get a new saw and trying to decide to get a 261 or wait for the 300.
