Dear Milwaukee
I am a born-and-raised Nebraskan who recently visited your fine city for four days with my fiancé, who lived there for 30 years.
I. Am. In. Love.
From the way your buses operate, to that absolutely funky Brady Street intersection on the East Side (which my fiancé quizzed me on, and which I think I kinda understand now 😂), to the beautiful Milwaukee River, the stunning views, and the proximity to Lake Michigan, I am in love with all of it.
This trip was a trial run. I wanted to see whether I could picture myself living there with my fiancé.
And yeah. I can. ❤️
There’s something about your city that just clicked for me. I came to visit, but I’m going home already thinking about the next chapter. I think it’s time to start getting the ball rolling on bringing ourselves and our three cats up there and making Milwaukee our home.
I don’t know exactly when it’ll happen, or how long it’ll take to get everything in place. But I know one thing for certain:
I can’t wait to come back.
Whether it’s for another visit or because we’re finally home for good, I’ll be counting down the days until we meet again.
Until then, Milwaukee, take care of yourself.
And, of course…
GO BREWERS! ⚾💙💛
