It doesn’t hurt or something. This is the place where the backplate is touching my arm. Should I be worried? I wear my Apple Watch Ultra 2 almost continuously.

I keep getting high heart rate spikes the morning after a night of drinking alcohol. It using spikes as I stand up from my bed, then goes back down within a couple of minutes. Does anyone have an idea what this is, I am waiting on a cardiology appointment. But past checks have all came back normal.

Support My Apple Watch said, “Good Morning, Amy.” My name isn’t Amy.

1.1k Upvotes

When I got up this morning my Apple Watch said, “Good morning, Amy.” My name isn’t Amy. When I asked my watch (via Siri) what my name was, it responded, and I quote, “You’re Howard. But since we’re friends, I get to call you ‘Amy.’”

I pulled up the ‘me’ card to look for the nickname field. Couldn’t find one. Pulled up my shared photo. It was captioned “Amy.”

I was finally able to get back to normal by saying, “Hey, Siri, change my nickname to Howard.”

Still: what just happened here?

SOLVED!! i use an app called iScreen for cute widgets on my lock screen and it actually is connected to my watch and allows you to add cute images to your shortcut page!! thanks for everyone’s interest!!

i am genuinely SO confused as to what this is, i got the watch about two weeks ago and haven’t used it every day, and haven’t done anything other than delete a few apps on it to clean up the main screen. every time i try to turn the “kitten” feature off it turns itself back on, and when i tried googling it, i got absolutely nothing. please help 😭

My sleeping hours are set from midnight to 7am every day. Shouldn’t that override these notifications?

This Ultra 3 is my first Apple Watch and only a week old, so I might be missing something here. Maybe I have Drill Instructor Mode enabled.

Support The band sizing compatibility is confusing so I made a chart to help

Now that we have new 42mm watches that don’t fit with old 42mm bands (and vice versa), I thought it was time to visualize what band sizes work with what models. Hopefully this can help someone confirm which size band to get!

I’m working in a data center next to a church. I am not religious nor have any jesus apps on my phone or watch. As I’m working, my wrist vibrates and this is the only thing that shows in the image.

I’ve had my Apple Watch for over a year but lately I’ve been having terrible sleep for a few months where I would wake up several times during the night but when I check my sleep data it shows I’ve barely slept at all, is this accurate?

Support Goodbye Old Friend

Post image

So I’ve had my first Gen Ultra for about a year and a half now and I’ve been super paranoid about getting wet. Like I never swim with it or even have a shower with it. Any water and I’ll take it off before. But after travelling for a long time my brain turned off and I went into the pool with it and now it won’t stop boot looping and sometimes has a line through it.

This seems defective seeing as how the only time I have ever gone swimming with it, it breaks. So my question is would the place I bought it from (not apple) be responsible for replacing it even though it’s past the warranty? If they won’t I’ll just buy a new one but since it died doing the very thing it’s advertised to do it seems like that’s something that should be fixed by them.

Update: The Authorised seller I bought it from has taken it in to consider a refund. Also, I'm not rage-baiting I was just trying to see other people's experiences so that I knew what to do. I've never had this happen before and I've owned 3 watches before this one and never had an issue.

Update 2: After a month of god awful customer service they gave me a brand new replacement Apple Watch Ultra.

How does this even happen??? I was laying down watching movies at the peaked times, plus it was on the charger. Aside from this happening I haven’t had any problems with this series 7 watch since I received it until today.

I did notice that it was taking a lot longer than usual to charge up, I usually charge it about an hour or two before falling asleep since I use it to track my sleep. How does one go about this?

I tried what I could find online besides disabling sleep tracking (which I need for my apnea), and everything I tried so far hasn’t gotten rid of it. It’s very distracting and makes me think I have sleep tracking actively on when awake. Is it supposed to be there all the time if you have a sleep schedule focus but not actively on?

edit: It was a glitch that was fixed with updating. I did not mean any harm. thank you to everyone for helping me it is fixed now. thank you again for the help.

Support Apple dropping the Apple Watch Series 8 after only 4 years while the iPhone 11 gets iOS 27 makes no sense

Am I the only one who thinks Apple is being ridiculous with watchOS compatibility?

The iPhone X got updates from iOS 11 to iOS 16. The iPhone 11 is apparently getting iOS 27, which means around 8 years of major updates.

Meanwhile, the Apple Watch Series 8, released in late 2022, is reportedly losing support after only 4 years. Even more surprising, watchOS 26 was running perfectly fine on older watches like the Series 5.

I understand that Apple Watches have less RAM and weaker chips than iPhones, but a Series 8 is still a relatively modern device. It’s hard to believe it suddenly can’t handle another version of watchOS.

It feels strange that Apple can support an iPhone for nearly a decade but drops a smartwatch after just four years.

What’s even more frustrating is that many of the headline WWDC26 features are already unavailable to older devices, so it’s not like Apple has to bring every new AI feature to older watches anyway.

Do you think Apple is justified here, or are they ending support too early for the Series 8 and older watches?
