I’ve never had an Apple Watch before, but I’m thinking about picking one up to track fitness and stay on top of notifications without pulling out my phone all the time. There are so many options and I don’t want to overspend.
any suggestions on which one gives good value for a beginner? Thanks in advance
Edit: I went with #ad Apple Watch SE 3 GPS + Cellular 44mm Smartwatch and just got it set up. It’s been really smooth so far and covers everything I needed for fitness tracking and notifications without feeling overkill.

My wife has the Series 3 for a long time and wants to upgrade to a newer one for a Christmas present. Which series would you recommend that has nice qol features and won’t be too expensive? I don’t see a need to get the brand new one, which she agrees in order to save some money. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

I’ve had my series 8 for a few years and it’s still working well, so I’m debating whether it’s worth upgrading to the newest series 12.
For those who upgrade from a series 8 (or a similar generation), do you feel like the improvements are noticeable in terms of health tracking? What features or changes made the upgrade worthwhile? Or do you think I should just keep my series 8 for another year or two?
Would love to hear your experiences!

been using a really old fitness tracker and finally thinking of switching to an apple watch, mostly for notifications, workouts, and just general daily use. i don’t need anything super advanced but i also don’t want to end up with something that feels outdated too quickly.
for people who’ve compared them, what’s the best apple watch for the price right now? is it smarter to go for an older model or just get a newer one and not worry about it for a few years? thanks
Update: went with Apple Watch SE 3 [GPS + Cellular 44mm] Smartwatch and decided it was the best balance for price and features right now. It felt like the most practical upgrade without overcomplicating things.

Okay, here's the situation (apologies to DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince):
I bought my first Apple Watch, a Series 7 GPS model, in November 2021, for $479.
It isn't paired with a calling plan. I use it for monitoring activity and sleep, telling time (an overlooked application), tracking workouts, and finding my iPhone when, inevitably, I misplace it. Wish the watch could find my wallet too. I use the Compass when I'm out, occasionally the ECG, and I check Mail and Messages if my phone isn't nearby. I'm sure there are lots of other uses I'd benefit from, but that's all I have in my repertoire.
The watch doesn't hold a charge the way it used to, and the battery setting on the watch says it's "significantly reduced." I have to recharge about every 22 hours.
I went to the nearest Apple store, and the guy told me I can replace the battery for $99.
Or I can trade in the Series 7 (he wasn't able to tell me the trade-in value) towards a new watch.
Or -- and I didn't understand what he was telling me here -- I can sign up for some $29/month plan that would allow me to upgrade or replace the watch at a significant savings. Anyone know what he was referring to?
What would be the smart move here, given the prices and the limited ways in which I use my watch? Has anyone done a recent old-watch trade-in?

Should I get an Apple Watch. If so which one? 799 seems like a lot for a smart watch. I could get a decent mechanical watch for much less.

I don’t need fancy bells and whistles. I just want a smart watch to be able to leave my phone in my office at work and still be able to receive texts. I also am excited to have it count steps. I want to keep it budget friendly since i don’t need anything fancy, but want to be sure i am getting one that will last and gets good enough reception. I have never purchased a smart watch so i feel lost lol. thanks in advance!!

I just want a reliable watch with good battery life that accurately tracks my heart rate sleep patterns and functions seamlessly with my iPhone. I want something durable that I won’t bump against a wall and have a nasty scratch on it.
I don’t think the newest watch is necessary I have an iPhone 16 pro.

So I was happy with my S7 until last year when i swim in a pool with way to much chlorine, it damaged the seals, water got in and killed my watch, for the next 2 days it would just become hot in the charger and didn't turn on. When i arrived home from my vacations i fully took it appart, there was water still inside, i used 99% IPA to clean it and remove the corrosion and the watch turned on, but the original battery was ruined after that.
I did replace the battery then with a cheap one from internet and it got swollen fast like in the first 2-3 weeks so i bought a new iFix it battery thinking it was just the quality of the cheap one; same history it swollen within a couple of weeks. So i used the watch like that for almost a year but the battery got worse and worse to the point i had to charge it 3 times a day, not that much of a big deal since i charge it before bed, at my desk at work and a little before gym but still not happy about it.
So i was waiting for the S12 to replace it finally this year, but when the S12 was released i really hated the bigger bezels even if the display is actually bigger than mine lol i get its an optical illusion but i just love the look of the S7 thiner black bezels.
So im in a new dilema, i bough on aliexpress a new cheap battery just to give it a final try to see if i can could go 1 year more with the S7, this time i got smarter and used the diagnostics log to see if the new battery was any good, i could the perfectly when the watch detected the new battery, the service message disappeared from settings, the health jumped from 73% to 100% and the new battery actually reported in the logs 105% capacity. Its been 10 days since i replaced the battery and the logs from yesterday still report a perfect health for the new battery (as far as i understand them) with 104% health.
But the thing is that despite all the info saying the battery is functioning perfectly and despite that i did feel a noticeable change in battery duration, i still feel it dosent last as long as it did before the water damage. I even tried unpairing and pairing as new watch, with no third party apps installed but still i feel it drains fast.
Im looking to see if anyone out there has the S7 and how their battery graph look for a normal discharge with the latest update, for comparison i attached a screenshot before the battery replacement and one from today, you can see a noticeable change but i feel it still drains fast.

Should I wait until September/until after the new line gets released? The old lines usually sell cheaper right? But I heard it might not be the case this year (for the phones) since the materials are more expensive.
I still plan on getting the SE3, it’s just me wondering if it’ll be cheaper if I wait a little bit longer.
thanks

I am a doctor and just looking for something to glance at texts quick so I don’t miss any high priority messages when with patients.
Don’t care much about any other app, other than just seeing my texts.
What watch should I go with? The SE3 is on sale on Amazon right now for $279.
Can get SE2 refurbished for 229 or find any others on marketplace (7, 8, 9).
What would you recommend for me?

I want to start tracking my sleep: that's my main target. Other health-related features are nice to have, I might be interested in heart rate (resting or not), HRV, blood oxygen, etc. Not super critical for me, compared to sleep. Smartwatch features (like displaying texts, answering calls) are NOT important (I will probably get used to them and use them more, but at this point I'm not prioritizing them at all).
I have an iPhone SE 2020 (which I may or may not upgrade, since it's still working well for me).
What would you recommend? Is the Apple Watch SE (3?) good enough? Is it missing some things you would consider important?

I’m currently using a Garmin 970 and really like the battery life, recovery data, and training metrics.
I’m considering switching to Apple Watch mainly because the safety features are becoming more important to me, especially fall detection &emergency alerts.
I’m deciding between the normal model and Ultra .
My main concern with the normal is whether it’ll feel like too much of a downgrade from the Garmin in battery life, GPS, durability, and overall sportswatch feel.
The Ultra seems like the more natural replacement, but it also looks huge and I’m not sure I actually need it. I mostly do workouts, tennis, some running, and general health tracking.

My friend is offering me a deal on their Apple Watch Series 4. I’m not sure if I should get it or just go for a newer model.
It looks in decent condition, but I’m a bit worried about the battery life and how long Apple will keep supporting it with updates.
For those still using the Series 4 — how’s your experience in 2025? Is it still worth picking up if I’m mainly going to use it for fitness tracking, notifications, and daily use?
Appreciate any advice 🙏

Hi everyone,
I’m planning to buy an Apple Watch, but I’m confused — should I wait for the Apple Watch Series 11, or is it better to just get the Series 10 now? Will there be any significant upgrades in Series 11 that are worth waiting for?
Also, I’m torn between the GPS-only and the cellular version. Which one is better when it comes to receiving calls, emails, and WhatsApp message notifications (especially when the phone isn’t nearby)?
My main uses will be:
Would love to hear your suggestions and experiences. Thanks!

I am starting to look for a smart watch to pair with my IPhone. Would an Apple Watch be able to hold up in a job that requires light dishwashing daily. The watch would be immersed in a water/dish soap solution and a water/sanitizer solution

I live in Korea and will be visiting the U.S. in August for two weeks. I'm looking to buy my first Apple Watch and will mainly use it to track health and fitness. I could buy one in Korea when the 12 comes out but I rather buy it in the U.S. Will the 12 be worth the wait and should I just buy it in Korea or should I buy an 11 for $100 off during my short visit home?

I’m currently using an Apple Watch Series 7, and the battery health has dropped below 80%. I’m definitely noticing it in daily use, as I have to charge it more often than I’d like.
My first thought was to replace the battery, but that would cost around €100. At that point, I’m struggling to justify spending that much money on a 5-year-old watch when that money could instead go toward a newer model.
Another factor is that watchOS 27 will no longer support the Series 7, which has me thinking even more about upgrading.
The problem is that I can’t decide whether I should buy a Series 11 now or wait for the Series 12. My Series 7 is still usable, but the battery is becoming increasingly annoying, and I’m not sure whether the expected improvements in the Series 12 are worth waiting for.
I’ve also considered moving away from the Apple Watch and getting a Garmin instead. The longer battery life is definitely appealing, but I’m not sure how well Garmin watches integrate with an iPhone compared to an Apple Watch. Depending on the model, the price isn’t necessarily much lower either.
So if you were in my position, what would you do?
I’d be especially interested in hearing from people who have made a similar decision recently.

Ok here’s the dilemma: should I buy the series 11 now (on sale $100 off) or wait it out for the series 12? Would there be such a big update that waiting would be worth it?
I want an Apple Watch mostly to track sleeping, steps, calories and basically fitness and stuff and have a good baseline to get more fit and healthy.
I understand like oh just get the SE 3 if that’s all you want the Apple Watch for but the sale for the series 11 is something I’m willing to splurge for as I do want a long battery life. But now I am willing to pay for the series 12 if it’s such a crazy update yk.

Help! First time buyer and can’t decide on model and also between GPS and cellular. I’d like to listen to Spotify on my walks / jogs but not a dealbreaker. Really torn about what to buy!

Hello, I think I am fussing over it more than I should but I am always like that unfortunately 😅.
I want to get the Series 11 but I can't decide which color.
I am a woman with a small wrist but I want the larger version anyway because my eyesight is bad and I need a bigger screen to see everything well. I have ruled out the black one for a few personal reasons but other than that I am clueless 😕.
I have been to the apple store but forgot to try every color on and it's not a quick drive so I don't want to go again.
All other shops don't allow you to wear it properly and they all only have the space grey version to look at so I can't compare them all on me.
I don't want it to look bulkier than it will already be on my wrist and I feel like the silver might stand out much. It's good for band versatility but doesn't work so well with dark colors because of high contrast.
Space grey looks good alone but I find it harder to find bands that fit that are not dark or cold colors. I still want to keep a bit of a feminine elegant look but not overly girly if you get what I mean. And I want to wear lighter color bands as well.
Rosegold seems to me is very niche with bands and almost a bit too girly I feel like.
In conclusion, I tend to stand between silver and space grey most times but I am wondering if the space grey will look too masculine on me with bands, color and size and that silver will make the watch look even bigger and I also think it looks a bit more like plastic in silver color.
I know it's just a watch at the end of the day 🙈 but it's a substantial investment for me so I don't want to feel like I didn't think about it enough beforehand.
Here are pics next to my skin tone with the space grey watch. I am not sure if it fits.
