Appreciate the work put in by u/dumbmatter and u/Alexnoob on the game. I like playing with real and current NBA rosters, but I feel like most ratings have to be adjusted. I'm not really sure how to do it because I tried to make a custom roster before, but it skewed the player stats and didn't match their real life stats anymore.
Some notable and questionable current ratings are:
1. Jalen Suggs and Donovan Mitchell having the same, if not, similar ratings.
2. Franz Wagner somehow always ends up being a top 10 player
3. Austin Reaves and Jayson Tatum have really close ratings
4. Quentin Grimes, Jaren Jackson Jr. Lauri Markkanen all share the same rating, while Jalen Williams is worse
5. In general, some role players have the same ratings as all-stars in real life.

Some people enjoy the randomness of these ratings, but I'm looking for more realism. Does anyone have a roster with tweaked ratings?

I’m in the process of creating a website which will have a predictive model and things like a what if Luka plays on the 2012 grizzlies and the model would predict their wins and how far they might expect to go in the playoffs. Or you could drop a player from any era into today's NBA environment and it adjusts their stats based on modern pace, three point volume, and defensive rules. New league, got fired from Cleveland again but now I got a winning team

i think the players having home states and colleges adds more depth to the game, but it’s really only aesthetic as of now.

I’m thinking a couple very small changes that could add a little more depth to the game, kind of like how players like to play with relatives;

players could have a slight interest boost for playing with their college teammates (à la the irl knicks),

players could be more likely to sign with their hometown teams- players from the northeast could be more likely to sign with the Massacre, Mexican players could be more likely to sign with the Aztecs, etc

this one is a little out there and kind of pointless, but I’ve noticed that home state has nothing to do with where players go to college, when a lot of times irl guys like to stay close to home. maybe players with “loyal” tag could be more likely to play for a college in their home state? Kind of like how guys are more likely to play for their dad’s college team now?

These are the six rookies I see having the highest fantasy potential this season, along with my predictions for where they’ll go in drafts.

A.J. Dybantsa – Rounds 4–5
Darryn Peterson – Rounds 7–8
Cameron Boozer – Rounds 7–8
Darius Acuff Jr. – Rounds 6–7
Yaxel Lendeborg – Rounds 10–11
Aday Mara – Rounds 10–11

I’m especially interested in Lendeborg and Mara as potential late-round steals.
These are my early predictions for 16 teams 9-cat leagues, not necessarily where I’d draft each player.

Who do you think will outperform their draft position? Any rookies I’m overlooking?

We have a very competitive league with a lot of skilled managers. Everyone has their own team identity, franchise player, logo, and so on. We even have our own league media, and my team has made the finals multiple times and is the reigning champion.

We’re running a $200 auction draft, and players generally go for $5–10 above or below their typical market value because of how competitive the league is and how much everyone values their favorite players.

My franchise players are Anthony Edwards and Amen Thompson, but I’d probably have to spend around $65–75 on Ant-Man and $35–45 on Amen. I’m struggling to figure out how to build a successful roster with that much money tied up in Edwards alone.

As a Plan B, I’m also considering building around Tyrese Maxey and Amen Thompson instead.

Could you please suggest a 14-player, alternative-heavy roster build centered around Anthony Edwards? I want to build a team that can strongly compete in 5 categories out of 9, with a good chance of winning 6–3.

I really need some help figuring this out.
