Why BTC is going down
I’ve been in this industry for a long time now. Every cycle, I inevitably get people asking me if it’s a good time to buy. The funny thing (and I’m sure many of you will relate to this) is that they always ask when BTC is going up
Then, the moment BTC goes down even 2%, the same people ask if the bear market will create new lows.
The takeaway for me has been traders vs investors.
Traders buy and look for short term entry and exit. They want some quick cash.
Investors look for long term valuation growth. They want the industry to succeed.
Neither is wrong on its own but they both give a clear explanation of WHY people ask this question.
When a trader asks this question, they’re asking it to know if they should buy or sell based on the money they want to make.
When an investor asks this question, they’re asking it to know if their conviction will be validated or invalidated.
Have you noticed the same?

I think Foundation servers got hacked, don’t click the links in their email from today
Just got this email from foundation claiming my hardware wallet is compromised. But it’s obvious this is a phishing attempt.
All of my info is in the email that I used to order the device from foundation. Name, address, email, phone

Contributing to Society in a Meaningful Way in 2027
Hi everyone. I am writing this out of a sense of anxiety due to the advancement of AI in contemporary society. Like many of you who have been in the space for some years, I just want to stack sats and live a good life. However, that's becoming harder every week and every month of every year now, because AI is causing opportunities to earn money to dissipate on a large scale, making it tough to DCA and stack sats.
My question to those of you who are successful is this: what are some good ways to meaningfully contribute to society in the next year, which do not have a new education or extreme/difficult training as a prerequisite, despite the advancement of AI?
I'm seriously considering changing careers because I think AI will soon eat up the job market for my current profession. I just want job security and a decent salary, along with things I need to fulfill my basic needs of survival.
Where should I go from here? I don't want to be a failure, I don't want to stay poor forever. I don't earn much even now but things are just getting worse all the time.
Advice? Like, genuine and helpful advice, please?
Things I am into are all dominated by AI; I'm into art, music, gaming, electronics/coding, professional and college sports... None of which I can see a way to get into professionally.
In my country Firefighters/Emergency Medical Technicians get a really good salary but for personal reasons, I cannot handle such extremely high stress jobs. What are my best options if you consider me just the average Joe?

Is Mining Centralization A Threat for Bitcoin?

Why mining pool concentration is a real concern but not an existential threat to Bitcoin's hard money properties.

We made the bitcoin-dev mailing list readable: 15 years, 24,699 messages, one page per thread, free
Every rule change in Bitcoin got argued over on one mailing list. The list’s archive moved three times, its old links now land on a page that blocks most fetchers, and reading a 116-message thread there means clicking through 116 pages of monospace.
So we built a readable mirror. One page per thread, quoted text folded, every message linked to its original. Topic timelines, a page for every BIP the list discussed, a page for everyone who posted ten times or more, and the numbers by year. Updated daily.
Nothing is rewritten or summarized. The words are the authors’, as sent.

Where do I start?
I dont know a thing about Bitcoin, and from what I've tried to read its very confusing to me. I've been interested in dipping my feet into Bitcoin but no idea where to even start. Im currently 49m, been working same job since 2018. I currently have 401k and global shares. Don't know if any of that matters or not. But wheres the best place to learn about Bitcoin and where do I buy and invest in Bitcoin ? I've asked some older family members but they aren't into it. Thank you all for any help and knowledge!

What is the best Reliable source for studying Bitcoin?
I've noticed that in many places, what people teach about it, is scams, lies, or at best, just repeated jargon. And I'd like to know if there's any reliable source to gain knowledge without the risk of falling for scams. (Sorry for bad English)

Bitcoin Art Magazine is becoming Timechain Art Magazine. The Genesis Edition remains as it was published. Edition One, forthcoming, is the first under the new name.
Timechain is the world’s first Bitcoin art magazine. We live at the intersection of art and sound money, documenting and celebrating a global creative movement that has grown alongside Bitcoin itself. We amplify Bitcoin artists and their work, spanning painting, printmaking, sculpture, and beyond, drawing on Bitcoin’s core properties of proof-of-work, decentralization, sovereignty, scarcity, and immutability. Our mission is to propel Bitcoin adoption through art and culture, archiving this cultural renaissance as it unfolds and preserving the artwork that will shape how future generations understand these moments in history.
Why Bitcoin Needs Capitalists (Whether You Like It Or Not)
On my podcast ‘Bitcoin for Millennials’ I discuss why Bitcoin capitalists are dragging Bitcoin across the adoption chasm, what Rogers' adoption curve teaches us about how every technology reaches the mainstream, why the 2022 blowups were never Bitcoin failing, why with no lender of last resort reckless players blow up against Bitcoin, and why paper is a real danger.

Built a social crypto site with charts, news and more. Would love some honest feedback
Hey all,
Sick of using 5 different apps and websites to talk about crypto while looking at charts and messaging your friends to jump on Bitcoin?
I've been working on a site called Nodora (https://nodora.fun) for a while now, and it's finally at the point where I need real people using it.
Basically I got sick of jumping between 3 or 4 different places for crypto stuff, so I tried to put it all in one spot.
There's charts, a social side where you can post and follow people, and a launchpad where if you've made your own coin you can list it and actually get it in front of people.
It's still early so I'm sure there's stuff that's broken or confusing.
That's kind of the point of this post 😆.
I'd really like to know:
What sucks or doesn't make sense
Whether you'd actually use the social part over X or Telegram
If you've launched a coin, what would make you list it here
Anyone who signs up now while I'm testing gets an achievement for being early, and some extra bonus stuff. Just my way of saying thanks for helping out early.
Happy to take harsh feedback, I'd rather hear it now than later. I'll try reply to everyone.
Cheers.
Also if posting this here is totally against the rules I understand!

Looking for interoperable Miniscript policy – Nunchuk accepts it, Sparrow & Liana reject it
Hi everyone,
I’m trying to create a Miniscript vault with the following behaviour:
• First 6 months after receiving a UTXO → completely locked (no one can spend)
• After 6 months → only a 2-of-3 can spend
• After 1 year → either the original 2-of-3 or a second 2-of-3 (recovery set) can spend
• Relative timelocks so that self-transfers reset both clocks
I currently have this policy working in Nunchuk:
or_i(
and_v(v:multi(2, key_0_0, key_1_0, key_2_0), older(25920)),
and_v(v:multi(2, key_3_0, key_4_0, key_5_0), older(52560))
)
Problem:
Both Sparrow and Liana reject this policy.
I don’t want to be locked into a single wallet (Nunchuk only).
I don’t want to rely on only one piece of software.
Wallets can disappear from app stores, stop being maintained, or become hard to find years from now. Because of that, I want a Miniscript policy that can be recovered and spent from multiple independent tools .
ANY THOUGHTS??
Thanks in advance for any advice.

How do you think Coinbase earnings will impact BTC?
Strong earnings numbers in volume and custody from Coinbase could drive BTC higher by confirming institutional inflows, while weak data might create short-term downside pressure due to lower liquidity. However, this direct impact on Bitcoin typically lasts just hours or days before macro factors and ETF flows take over again unlike $COIN stock, which will see much higher volatility. Do you guys agree?

I’m 25 and I’ll be taking a 130k euro, mortgage loan (against my apartment) to buy and hold BTC. Any thoughts?
Edit 26.10.26
Sincerely thank you all for the critique and advice. This is my first serious reddit post and I'm amazed of how many different perspectives I got and how that can change ones thinking.
Pre story- In 2023 I advised my parents to Invest in Bitcoin, they made 5k -> 15k in a year. Then they gifted me the sum to invest. Through 2024-2025 I gambled/traded them away in crypto chasing bigger returns and trying to justify my time without a job. From then till now I have a stable and well paying job and have created a small foundation in my life (discipline and independence).
A brief of my situation now: I got a pretty good life- a great job, gf from 7 years, close with parents, a couple of friends and time and freedom to pursue what interests me (apartment, car, garage). The only thing missing is a true career/competence in a field (which for a man is important).
Brief of the loan: 130k. 3% interest, 30 years; After 1st year you could repay without costs; taxes are really low and legislation is pro crypto.
The overall Pros of the plan: in purely rational terms whatever you make above 3% a year is profit, you're leveraging an asset to buy an even harder asset, I've already be burned and think I know how to hodl now, you will have to take a loan for something at sometime in life, why not on Bitcoin?
Overall Cons: not worth the strain on your life, gambling your future, gambling your only safe haven, bad risk reward, DCA-ing the monthly fee would earn comparable returns in 30y.
There is so much more to life than Bitcoin- purpose, emotion, contentment, happiness, progress- not just number go up.
However, I'm too much ahead in the loan process and tomorrow I'll be signing the contract and from November I'll have the funds.
Based on everything I read I plan to: allocate the amount in parts carefully, don't rush and buy as I would DCA, see if my conviction about life and the plan is after 1 year and decide if to continue.
Again, thank you all for the help and support, you opened my eyes :)
