Hey everyone and Happy New Year,
I wanted to take a moment to check in with the community and open up a general feedback thread.
I originally created this subreddit years ago and, like a lot of people, life pulled me away for a while. Over the past few weeks I’ve been spending more time here again, helping with moderation and getting reacquainted with how the community has evolved.
Before making any changes or decisions, I’d like to hear directly from you.
Some questions to get things started (but feel free to comment on anything):
This subreddit has always been about sharing appreciation for Breath of the Wild; exploration, creativity, screenshots, discoveries, and the calm vibe that made the game special. The goal is to make sure it stays a place people enjoy visiting, whether they’re new to the game or revisiting it years later.
Nothing is changing immediately! This thread is just about listening and getting a sense of where things stand.
Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts, and for being part of the community.
- tkshorty9

Playing Stray made me feel sick with 15-20 minute, but I feel just fine playing Pokemon Arceus and Mario Odyssey for hours. I’ve read that all those games has caused a very small few people motion sickness, so I’m hoping BOTW will be safe for me, because it doesn’t seem like it’s the type of game you enjoy playing in mini increment.
Luckily, I found out that I can borrow the game from my not-so-local library, so even if it doesn’t work out for me, I won’t end up spending money on a game I can’t play. Wish me luck!

I love fighting Lynels and I’ve got about 5-6 on my roster that I’ll regularly visit to kill them for their weapons (or for sport) between every blood moon. I’ve noticed as I progressed through the game they all eventually turned into White-maned Lynels, but it’s been quite some time now and none of them have turned Silver (besides the one in the colosseum which I think is always silver no matter what, I’m not sure?)
I also see people post here with Lynel weapons close to or above 100 dmg, but I’ve only ever picked up Savage Lynel Swords with 58dmg, Crushers at 78, Spears at 30, and only occasionally one will have a Durability buff.
Any idea what’s going on here? I’ve finished all divine beasts, completed every shrine, and feel like I’ve fought plenty of enemies over the course of the game for them to level to the strongest variants. I think the only silver enemy I ever see are bokoblins.

I only got 2 shock arrows and it’s doesn’t work on him.

It didn’t occur to me soon enough to shoot him when the boulders were above him and I just shot most all of my arrows instead. I used up all 3 Rito bows. Can I replace them somehow?

Hello everyone,
Bit of a niche question - I could have sworn on my playthrough years ago that I found a small cave blocked by a magnesis boulder or some bombable rocks somewhere near the canyon floor of dueling peaks (near the river between the peaks). There were some regular ore deposits inside of it. On my current playthrough, I cannot find what I'm thinking of. I am fairly certain that I hallucinated it at this point, but does anyone know what I'm referring to?
I'm not thinking of the rare deposit in the crevice of one of the peaks, nor am I thinking of the cave housing the treasure discussed at the nearby stable. Maybe it's not on the bottom of the canyon floor, it might be higher up on the cliff face?
If anyone can help me I would greatly appreciate it.

He might be my second favorite out of the four characters that help you out. I just really like his voice for some reason and he just seems like a chill guy to be around. All of the Gorons do even though they live near an active volcano.

So I just finished BOTW, and I loved the game, but I cant believe that I dont get to see a ganonless hyrule. In TOTK, does it start off with a healed hyrule that I can explore before ganon comes to wreck everything? Because if so, Im going to buy it right now.

Why isn't this making the shrine appear?
Thanks!

Hello,
I'm putting together a YouTube video focused on a complete Iceberg from Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom.
The objective is to cover all levels, from well-known elements to the most obscure details (cut content, data mining, glitches, easter eggs or lore elements).
If you know any anecdotes that would be cool to tackle in an iceberg, don't hesitate to share them in the comments (with the source if possible)!
Thank you in advance for your help!

Using a standard shield while parrying Guardian beams has yielded different damage amounts for each deflection on the same Guardian, and it's killing me trying to figure out why. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? I have had several perfect guard deflections that yield different damage amounts on the same Guardian. Why might this be?
I thought all perfect guard Guardian deflections were fixed damage amounts as long as they're perfect guards. They're definitely not.
