I’m a friendly, high EQ guy who is looking to expand his social circle. I’m well travelled, highly educated, kind, empathic, authentic, pleasantly quirky and open to meet people of any gender or orientation or from any walk of life. No big red flags that anyone has made me aware of haha. I’m an arts academic and am known as a practitioner in my field. We’ve recently got Warhammer in and starting an escalation league with super low stakes rules and even lender armies for the initial leg.
We also do a lot of Magic the Gathering in super casual no timed events. We are always on hand to ask questions, learn to play or seek advice.

Basically made the game store I wish I had when I was new to the hobbies. Queer woman owned and run.

I'm a 26 year old guy, born in Turkey but raised in London, and I've been living in Brisbane for a while now. This is my second big move in life, and honestly, I've found it harder than I expected to meet people and make proper friends here.

Back in London I never really struggled with making friends, but between moving countries, work, and just the general stress of life, I've realised I haven't really built the social circle I wanted here. So I thought I'd put myself out there a bit!

A bit about me: I used to work in film production, which is something I still love, but I've got a new goal now of becoming a firefighter in the next couple of years. I'm pretty into sports and fitness. I used to box in London, and these days I run and train at home because gym memberships are ridiculously expensive haha. Always up for trying new activities though. (I also like cars and have a miata!)

I'm also into video games, board games, having a good drink, and just having a laugh and talking absolute rubbish with people. I love hearing about other people's lives, what they're into, and how they ended up where they are. I can happily go from a serious conversation about life to arguing over a board game or playing games until stupid o'clock.

I'm not necessarily looking for people who share every single interest I have, just good people who are up for hanging out, grabbing a beer or coffee, going for a run, having a game night, or exploring more of Brisbane together.

I think moving somewhere new has made me realise how much I took having friends nearby for granted. It's a bit strange going from being someone who was always surrounded by people to having to start from scratch again, but I suppose that's part of the experience.

Hi everyone, i keep having this post taken down from more obviously relevant subs for some reason so i might as well give this sub a shot.

I'm a journalism student currently producing a short video journalism piece exploring how changes to Brisbane and South East Queensland's public transport network, particularly bus route changes introduced in 2025, have affected people living with disabilities or accessibility challenges.

I'm hoping to hear directly from people who have experienced changes to bus routes, stops or connections that have made travelling more difficult or easier, longer journeys, additional transfers or reduced access to accessible stops, difficulties accessing work, education, healthcare or essential services, accessibility barriers affecting people with physical disabilities, mobility limitations or chronic health conditions.

I'm particularly hoping to connect with people who would be comfortable sharing their experiences on camera.

Ideally, I'd love to capture people's everyday experiences using public transport in a natural, informal way. This could involve accompanying someone on part of their usual journey, travelling around the city together, or simply documenting the practical challenges (or improvements) they encounter along the way.

This is purely a video journalism assessment piece, not a piece intended for public publication or broadcast.

Participation would be entirely voluntary, and I'm happy to discuss the filming process, accessibility requirements and any privacy concerns beforehand. There's no need to disclose personal or medical information publicly.

The assessment deadline is Friday 30 October so I'm hoping to connect with people available over the next few days.

A little about me:

I’m a cosy, cottagecore crochet artist and casual gamer, who loves baking and singing (and crying to) Noah Kahan songs loudly in her car.

I love a good gig and watching theatre / musicals. My last concerts were Amber Run and Mumford and Sons back in April. Do not talk to me about Noah not playing in Brisbane, I’m still sensitive about it. 🤣

I’ve recently seen Anastasia and Pride and Prejudice (Sort Of) at QPAC. I also watched the pro-shot of Hadestown in the cinemas and my god, Epic 3??? Brilliant. Amazing. Perfect.

I’m big on cosy games like Animal Crossing, Pokemon and Zelda, but I’m currently in the middle of BG3 with friends, which I’m really enjoying! I’ve also played DnD before and loved it.

I am very much not a horror game player, and yet, I found myself watching Resident Evil. I deeply related to Bryan. 😂

You can find me in museums, art galleries, random bookstores, cafes or at a crafty event. I was at the Brisbane Craft Movie Night on 20 Oct at Palace Barracks if anyone else was there! Pride and Prejudice on the big screen is an instant yes.

What to expect if we become friends (is this a warning? Maybe 😂):

yapping with vendors about her current fixation (it’s Witch Hat Atelier).

I had a few good friends at Uni from day one. But, then had to return home for 2 semesters as I had a family emergency. Issue is now all my friends are done with their degrees and scattered all over. Long story short - for some reason it’s impossible to make friends at Uni (I assume because everyone has their established circles by now). It’s just exhausting at this stage to try and make friends at Uni around a part time job and studying.
