Question anyone know where I can get a bunny in htx?

Hi I want a holland lop bunny but I have no idea where to look. I’ve looked at multiple shelters in my area and they either have very few bunnies that aren’t fit for me or bonded pairs :( if anyone needs to rehome their bunny here and they happen to be a holland lop or mini lop please reach out!

rehoming is always my first choice but if anyone knows anywhere else I could check out pls lmk

Health My 3 pound bunny ate 16mg of Zofran melt away.

In case this happens to anyone I want to share my story. It happened in a Sat and the Vet was going to be more than I could afford. Just spent $10,000 on our dog there. We got infant gas drops and Oxbow critical care. Took away all food except lots of good hay and fresh water. This happened 48 hours ago and the bunny had zero side effects. Never stopped eating, drinking or pooping. Did not have to use critical care or gas drops. Zero side effects. 48 hours of pure stress and he was completely fine.

Mourning Do bunnies always need another?

My girl is approximately 8 years old and arthritic. She just lost her husbun 3 days ago. She seems to be adjusting well (eating, pooping, interacting with me and the cats) I am trying to spend more time with her but I know that no amount of time with me would replace her having a bonded mate and so I feel guilty. I don’t want to rush into getting another, though, because they are so fragile and the way that I lost her husbun was so painful to witness. Could she be happy alone for the rest of her days, or is it cruel to leave her without a new husbun? Please I need advice 😭 it is so hard to know what to do

PLEASE NOTE: He did not actually eat the paper, I took it from his mouth afterwards with a lovely toothmark on one of the T’s. 🤣
He’s a sweetheart, he doesn’t mind these statements I promise, he’s very well loved and spoilt. He’s a very healthy weight according to the vet, do not fear! It’s all in good faith, we love him!

He only does it while on the couch, it's quite funny and he's not being scared by anything so I assume it's similar to cat zoomies?

Also, when is the correct time to neuter a bunny boy? Uzel will be 5 months next week, some sources say 4-6 months, but some say otherwise. He's not acting up or marking yet.

Health Ear medication Lop

My newly adopted bun has a right-ear infection; I’ve been told to use Baytril Otic every morning. He used to cooperate but now dodges when I lift his ear. I currently pet him, lift the ear, apply, then give a treat, but he’s resisting recently and will run off to play every time I lift his ear. Should I try a “bunny burrito”? Any tips for smoother application or to make it more pleasant for him in the future? He is neutered , if that changes anything!

Question Bunnies seem scared of me lately 😕

Post image

I've had them for almost 6 months, which isn't that long I know but they were warming up to me slowly, especially the boy. However lately they've been more skittish and apprehensive about getting a treat from me. I've had to rearrange their box a few times because I'm dealing with one of them peeing outside it, otherwise I don't think my home situation has changed much and I try to hand feed them treats and pellets multiple times a day.

Question Lettuce types bunnies can eat

So, my bunny gets some veggies every day, but I had been scared of romaine lettuce since my vet had said bunnies shouldn’t eat that one often, but in this sub I see that a lot of people feed their bunnies romaine lettuce every day, so I’m confused

I’m trying it out today on my bunnies, just a leaf each to see how they react, but does anybody know what the lettuce types they can eat everyday with a mix of other veggies?

Health Bunny wheezing

Post image
• Upvotes

Hi all,
My bunny started wheezing about 3 months ago. I took her to the vet twice, got X-rays that did not indicate any infection, but was advised to do a round of antibiotics anyway. The wheezing persisted after antibiotics. I also implemented environmental changes, including introducing a blend of orchard hay to keep the dust down, but I do live in an area with constant construction (affected by the LA wildfires). However I keep the windows closed and don’t notice any construction dust in my bunny’s room.
Should I keep going to the vet even if the appointments are inconclusive? It’s very expensive and over an hour away from me so I’d like to avoid that if possible. Can rabbits live happily and healthily with slight respiratory issues such as wheezing?
I understand respiratory issues are often emergencies, but because this one is persistent and seemingly untreatable, it doesn’t seem to qualify as such.
I’d appreciate any advice.

Does anyone know what’s going on here? She keeps circling my feet and then doing this. She also bit on me a few times. She’s about 6.5 months so I think she is going through her puberty? She has a spaying appt in 2 weeks.
