I’m a practicing attorney in another jurisdiction and qualify to take the California’s attorney’s exam (just essays and performance test). I’m comfortable with my current practice. I really like my firm. But the politics of my state scare me, and part of me just wants a back up plan. But this is a really expensive back up plan, with a really low pass rate. I’ve passed the UBE and can practice in any UBE jurisdiction, but I have family in CA so that’s my big pull. I also saw a rumor that CA may not offer the attorney’s exam after July 2028? Honestly just trying to figure this out. Any insights are greatly appreciated

I think at this point I’m going through about five different emotions a day. One minute I’m hopeful, the next I’m replaying the exam in my head and then I remind myself there’s literally nothing I can do about it now 😂

Also, is it weird that I find it comforting knowing we’re all going through this together, messed-up emotions and all?❤️🤣

I’m also grateful that we won’t have this level of anxiety once we see the results. This waiting period sucks more than anything else XD

That’s the post. They played us with a lot of those essays, but they absolutely played us with THAT essay and I should’ve spent 15 minutes on it and moved on to beef up my Evidence essay and PT.

I know the results are coming soon, but how badly could I have been docked for only discussing federal law on the evidence essay?

I fear I won’t make a jump high enough in score to pass. Last time I scored a 1285, which was a decrease from a 1340. I was sure I had either passed or increased my score only to find out I went backwards. Anyone think a jump from 1285 to pass is likely?
