In light of the recent Bioware closure… I want to celebrate Dragon Age Inquisition.

This time, I want to highlight how the regular NPCs in Inquisition have quite varied and flavorful characterization, Threnn is a Loghain Supporter, Seggrit is racist towards elf and a money grubbing prick (you can let him die in a house fire), and Harritt hates mages that when the mages given refuge in Redcliffe, he quits town and goes to Haven.

It’s like not everyone in this world is Mother Giselle, which makes it more real that most people have their own bias and opinion, some are asshole, some are good and it’s not just black and white.

Captured on Xbox Series X

While I do think the “horned” Qunari design is pretty cool. The origins version, Sten exactly, is my favourite design. I also love Sten’s friendship with the warden if you max out his approval. I hate him and love him at the same time. I wish there was a dlc where you can accompany Sten back to his homeland together with maybe Zevran and the dog.

Let’s hit it, again 😎🤙 tell me about your favorite Dragon Age moments

In light of the recent Bioware closure… I want to celebrate Dragon Age Inquisition.

Next, is how beautiful the game looks, mind you this game came out in 2014, almost 12 years has passed between now and then.

I also love how the first two region, Haven and Hinterlands are steeped with lore from previous games. On my first playthrough I just thought Haven as a chantry up in the mountains, Redcliffe just a village in hinterlands. After going back and played Origins, I now know Haven has a pretty dark history. And how pivotal Redcliffe is to the whole fight against the blight.

Captured on Xbox Series X (on PC it would look even better)

I’m looking for an Inquisition Let’s Play where the player either romances Sera or at least likes her enough to not leave her in the tavern the whole game. I know she’s annoying but she really grew on me.

Preferably something with commentary. Any recommendations?

Doesn't want to work no matter what I try...

From the Official Dragon Age Cookbook “Tastes of Thedas”: Hearty, humble, and straightforward to make-the three key aspects of any good Fereldan stew. This is a dish so ubiquitous that it's become almost synonymous with Fereldan cuisine in general. I'm certain you've heard many a clever quip about our stews, perhaps even from a Fereldan! But let me be the first to assure you that, no, contrary to what King Alistair may have said, we don't cook our ingredients until they're all "a uniform gray color." Throwing them into the largest pot we can find, on the other hand ... that much is true. If you're going to make a stew, you might as well make a lot of it! Although Mum's stews will always rule my heart, I'd be lying if I said this recipe-its namesake's view on Fereldan stews aside-didn't come close to stealing the crown. (Sorry, Mum!)

Rest in Peace BioWare 😔😔 I suppose I’ll be carving through the rest of this cookbook in memorial

If you’ve seen my other post about the Seheron Fish Pockets, I’ve taken to making these recipes and suggesting how realistic they are to make/any additives. This one was amazing, rich and mellow and savory, and if you are familiar with cooking, not hard to make at all. I do have some comments: ONE onion is fine (idk what kind of baby onions the author is using but 2 onions is too much), some crushed garlic tossed with the onions and canned corn can be added, do NOT salt the potatoes if you use a strong cheese or over salt the stew, serve in a bowl (it’s a stew, not pie), and if ground lamb is too rich for your peasant heart (i.e. hard to find/too expensive), ground beef is just fine.

With the shuttering of BioWare I’ve been feeling pretty nostalgic for Dragon Age and wanted to revisit Origins, it’s one of my all time favourite games, and the RPG that got 16yo me into RPGs.

Only issue is I’m away from my home for an extended period and only have my Mac with me. Turns out DA:O isn’t natively on Apple Silicon (makes sense it’s 17yo at this point), and I really didn’t want to have to run it via Windows on a VM.

So, I’ve created a native macOS launcher for it (with a lot of help from Codex). Since it’s actually working I thought I’d share it with you all in case it lets anyone else scratch that nostalgia itch.

The launcher is free, it’s code is open source, and (for anyone that cares) it works by running the windows steam client and the game through Wine (you will need a steam license for DA:O or DA:O Ultimate Edition).

You can download it here: https://github.com/Dr-Smth/OriginsLauncher
More detail on how to set it up/how it works are also there.

I’ve tested it on my own MacBook (16” M5 Pro), it should work on all Apple Silicon running macOS26/27 (it’s display aware and will adjust the fullscreen resolution to whatever model you’re using). If you encounter any issues let me know… and if anyone wants to test it in more depth that’d be massively appreciated.

If you do try it, I’d love to hear how you find it.

Finally a massive thanks to Aberrant Ink for the artwork, and the people behind Wine, Sikarugir, and DAFix (without them this wouldn’t have been possible).

I'm torn between the Dalish Origin as that's one of my favorites plus all the Elven connections just fit well and the Mage Origin.

I do like the idea of a Mage saving the world, as well as being related to Hawke.

Which do you guys feel had the better interaction through origins and it's expansions, plus throughout the later games?

I know my odds of an answer are slim to none with the age of the Multi-Romance mod for Inquisition and trying to work DAIMods on Frosty, but I might as well check. I'm playing with the Solas Cullen combo with Jealousy, so I completed all new faded to her and am with Solas, I play chess with Cullen, and he asks if I would rather play with Solas, I pick the romance options and go to speak to him again after the cutscene. I pick the enter a romance dialogue. Cullen says I'm already in a relationship; I check my mods and try again. Same result. I switch from Jealousy to Combo; same problem. I put full MRM, Now Cullen thinks I'm with Josephine.

I have never flirted with Josephine. I reload an old save before Solas' balcony kiss, six hours earlier, and I'm still going steady with Josie, who, when spoken to, has zero romantic interest because we've never flirted. Somehow I seem to have asexually ninjamanced Josephine, and only Cullen knows or cares. If someone could help, I'd appreciate it.

i got this a week ago and it’s my first tattoo ever and the first of a couple dragon age tattoos i plan on getting! this series will forever have my heart

2 days before the news hit I started a new playthru that will now be my always one which is fine its my favorite version female lavellan rogue. Im pretty proud how she came out and yeah on restarts back to haven Ill take her to the black emporium but dang I finally got character exactly how i like it and I doubt I'll restart at the beginning again simply because I'll lose my schematics 😭 anyway Raven Lavellan everyone

I've been listening to a lot of asmr spa videos to help me sleep lately, so I decided to make one of my own. Fenris deserves some pampering and I haven't drawn him in a while so he was perfect for this. It's silly, but I actually had fun making this. Hopefully the sound doesn't get messed up when I upload this :)

I've been reminiscing on my time with the dragon age games and how much I have loved them since the Bioware news. So I made this doodle of Hawke if she took the route of being a crazed blood mage. Meryll would be proud.

Keep in mind this was 2009, over 17 years ago, almost 2 decades ago...we had Origins.

The second trailer was even more epic

Hi everyone,

I’m 33, and I recently finished ME for the first time. It left me absolutely devastated. In the best way possible. Now, DA has been recommended to me. I’ve been told it offers similar—or perhaps even better—RPG elements.

However, the first game is no longer playable on the PS5... How should a newcomer start the series? And is it worth it for me?

I loved Mass Effect , but RPGs like Cyberpunk didn’t really resonate with me at all...

Greetings from Germany!

"People are always dying. It's what they do." Followed by Solas coldly turning his back on Varric and continuing the ritual.

Just an insanely hard moment. Solas' voice actor is truly phenomenal.

small edit: Veilguard is a pale comparison to any other Dragon Age game. This moment just seemed like the few times Veilguard even remotely felt true to the series imo.

I've been thinking about it lately a few of mine would be Vivienne and Wynne, Evataash and the Iron Bull, and Harding & Sigrun.
