It required more QTE's, more than lifting Kronos's hands or stopping Atlas' finger, showing how much effort Kratos had to put through. (Original video not mine)

Discussion I don't know why, but swimming like this in God of War III is so satisfying
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I love how Kratos swims so fast when you hold the button. I usually stay near the surface instead of diving underwater because it's more satisfying to watch him move through the water like this.
Does anyone else enjoy this, or is it just me?

Discussion A rant about Deimos:
Deimos has not been the most prominent in the series. But he left enough of an impression on me to be my favorite character.
I am playing "God Of War: Sons Of Sparta" currently, and I am glad that he has a major role there. But it also makes his fate all the more tragic.
It is he who urges so to look for Vasilis in that game. And despite being raised in such a cruel and violent place like the Agoge of Sparta, he is still such a kind, and well-faithed boy. Brontes thinks he is weak, and limits his brother; Kratos. But I find that it is that limitation - that restraint, that helped Kratos be a better person while a Spartan. His care for his brother made him hold back his brutality, his anger, and made pushed him to do more good. Kratos was fully devoted to Sparta, but Deimos completed that by making them not support it through strength alone, but kindness as well.
So when Deimos was lost; Kratos lost himself in his duty to Sparta through brutal strength alone. He vowed to never fail like that again. But also abandoned all consideration for others. Perhaps it was because of that grief, his ambition only grew. Only conquest mattered. Only "the glory of Sparta" And so when he was about be struck down by the Barbarian King; no cost for victory was too high. Not even selling his soul to the God Of War. Perhaps if Deimos was there to temper his brother, he would have never become so.
And what was Deimos awarded for his goodness? To be taken by Ares and Athena, and brought to the Domain Of Death. To be imprisoned and tortured in a forgotten corner of Greek Mythology by an ancient god. The twist of the knife is that all the while he hoped that his brother would come and save him. But Kratos did not know he lived. And so pain and imprisonment twisted his mind with frustration and anger. He thought his brother had abandoned him, forsaken him, forgotten him. So he stopped waiting for his brother to save him. He waited for a chance to get back at him.
But as he lashed out at Kratos, asking to continue fighting: Kratos did not. And as Thanatos came to take Deimos and finish him off. Kratos picked himself up with all the strength he had. And went to save his brother. The last family he had left. Which despite all that Deimos had endured, reignited his love. Kratos swore he would not lose Deimos again.
And then Deimos died.
Which was the final straw for Kratos and his hatred for being a pawn of the gods.
Perhaps, perhaps: Deimos was The Marked Warrior after all... For it was his fate that pushed forth the destruction of Olympus.
He deserved so much better...

- Physical copy: Santa Monica confirmed it will be sold on disc.
- Editions: Standard (digital or physical), Deluxe, and a Collector Box whose pre-orders opened on 13 October.

If anything above is wrong or out of date, say so and I’ll fix it.

Bug/Glitch Interesting bug I found in God of War III's fan made PC port
idk what I did to make the Blades of exile look like that, they were just fine before the battle with Hades, but after the battle and leveling up my blades to LVL3, they now look like this lol, probably its due to my low-end pc, pretty sure it will be fixed if I restart the game
I kinda like it, reminds me of the Blades of Athena from the first game lol
just wanted to share this

Discussion A clever visual trick that told us from the very beginning that Pandora's Box was empty, despite Athena's assurances
Namely, the fact that the Box in God of War 3 was faded and dark from the moment it was found in the Chamber of Flames. When Kratos found the Box in the first God of War, it had a fiery orange glow that hinted at the powerful force hidden within it, but when Kratos tried to open it again years later, it had darkened and faded because it no longer contained anything its purpose had passed, and it served as a sad reminder of what Kratos was chasing. revenge is empty and will ultimately give him nothing, just like the Box he tried to open a second time.

Question Are the NG+ enchantments worth it? Spoilers bellow. (Ragnarok) Spoiler
I'm currently in my NG+ run using a Runic attack build with Giptumadr's breastplate, Surtr's Arm and Gridle, 3x Muspelheim enchantments, 3x Vanaheim enchantments, Seal of Runic Storm (literal game changer), Guiding light engraving and the Attuned Runic gem. I just beat my last Berserker, and I was wondering if using the Nine Berserker Enchantments is worth it for my Gna and Kraki tries? Thanks in advance.

Discussion Got the entire shit on my PC natively let's go boys.
For context I got a mini PC running bazzite with the amd Ryzen 9 6900hx Google is saying I should get slightly better performance then a real ps3 with the right settings for ascension but I'm still gonna use lossless scaling to get me better performance. But all the other games already run at a solid 60fps without needing to use lossless scaling.

Question Who do you think would win in a fight between alexander or kratos ?
a match between two sons of zeus
Before you say kratos and I want you to know
Feats alexander achieved in mythology
-defeated literal god like kings
- was led by philosphers like al khidr and plato and Aristotle and socrates
- fought against gog and magog
- fought against massive armies and dragons and mythical monsters
- is literal ancestor of many royal familes
- Amazon's begging to be with him
- alexander has various mythical weapons with him
- has conquered multiple realms and has been to hell and defeated endless monsters and built legendary cities and monuments
- alexander is immortal by drinking from fountain of immortality
Battle between two sons of zeus will be legendary
And for anyone who is confused 🤔
I am talking about mythical alexander not historic alexander
Tales and folklore about alexander once you read them you know just how big of diamond mine is waiting to be explored

Discussion How accurate is Cronos in terms of scale in GOW3 vs GOW1?
Ok firstly I don't think there is a definitive answer to this, just a fun thought experiment. I am pretty sure the developers would fluctuate the size of Cronos' body to fit the situation at hand.
That said: in GOW3 you fight Cronos, who wears Pandora's temple on his back, which was the setting for a dominant chunk of the first game. The guy is absolutely freaking huge in both games.
That said is he proportionately the same size in both games? My gut tells me that, even being as large as he is, his size in GOW3 is smaller than he would need to be to fit the proportions shown in GOW1. If he was any bigger in GOW3 his body would cease to resemble fighting on a giant monster and become vast terrain, similar to how in Xenoblade Chronicles you are fighting on a monster so big you can't even recognize it as being a monster.
I don't have any tools for making objective measurements but this is interesting to me.

Modding Working on a God of War II PC project with tons of modern features (Trophies, HD Models, MP4 Cutscenes, Modern/Classic
Hey everyone! I’m Gustavo Predador, a Brazilian content creator. I’ve been making God of War content and mods on YouTube for about 10 years now, and today I want to share a project I've been working on: a God of War II custom version for PC packed with a ton of improvements that people didn't even think were possible on the original engine!
I wanted to bridge the gap between nostalgia and modern standards, giving players the best of both worlds. Here are some of the main features I've implemented so far:
🏆 PS3-Inspired Trophy System: Brought a full achievement/trophy system to the PS2 version, heavily inspired by the PS3 Remastered collection.
🎬 MP4 Cutscenes & Upscale Support: Replaced the legacy video playback with MP4 support, allowing cutscenes to be upscaled and look crystal clear on modern high-res displays.
🧠 Memory Optimization & HD Models: Increased the native memory limits to support high-detail models and HD assets, while heavily optimizing memory usage so it runs smoothly on PC without eating up too many resources.
🖥️ God of War III-Inspired Menu System: A completely revamped menu interface for anyone who loves the sleek look and feel of God of War III.
⚔️ Classic vs. Modern Toggle: Added an option where you can toggle between enhanced modern/classic graphic styles or stick to a 100% original purist experience.
🎁 Custom Extras & Mods: I'm also including my own custom models and God of War III mods as optional extras for PC players to check out and have fun with.
🛠️ Quality of Life Features: Custom HUD options, screen-hiding features, and general technical refinements.
It's been an incredible journey bringing this classic to life with these modern amenities. Let me know what you guys think, or if there's any other feature you'd love to see in a project like this!

Question What if alexander fought kratos ?
There is lot of legends about alexander fighting monsters or dragons but what if santa monica studio makes game where after greek gods fell and greek world ruined
Alexander rises as a king seeing the destroyed world and once mighty people are reduced to beggars and alexander starts his reign as the last remaining son of zeus vows to hunt down kratos , man who destroyed greek world and it's prosperity
First alexander destroys persian empire and brings down destruction to persian gods , greek gods , turkic gods ,
Fighting his way through dragons and mythical monsters creating his own cities and creating his own mechanical beings
There is vast amount of folklore and legends and stories written about alexander called alexander romances
What if santa monica studio makes a videogame about alexander fighting his way through persian gods and Egyptian gods and mixing every legend and folklore about alexander into single universe of gow
Finally hunting down kratos
Because if there is one man in history of Greece who can battle can match intesity and warrior prowress of kratos
Is alexander the great

Discussion This series never had a bad franchise
Except for that 2 D Metroid vania every single game in this series
(Ps2, psp, ps3, 2018, Ragnarok, ascension) all of these games were bombastic action games with deep hack and slash gameplay and combat design, fun levels, puzzles, writing, characters.
The series never missed once , and this is why I am particularly excited for Laufey with air combos , bounce mechanics. Can’t wait for Gow Egypt, got my game pre ordered

Discussion Why are these enemies harder than the actual bosses?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I'm playing God of War III, and I think I've found the most annoying enemy in the game so far.
These guys come in pairs, carry swords, and hit ridiculously hard. I can barely dodge their attacks, and they kill me so easily. I've fought bosses that felt easier than these guys.
Am I missing something, or are these enemies genuinely this difficult?
