Heh, so i lost my job early this morning.... im a cnc manufacture with about a year and a half experience, I love working with machines, learning them and fixing them. I even tinker with 3d printers at home..

But im also disabled, so things get a little hard, especially standing up, since I have ryanodes in the lower legs, I fall over after standing or walking around for 2 hours lol

Hey gang! I'm trying to get work in the cities and haven't found anywhere yet. I'm a 20 year old with a high school degree and 9 months work experience at Subway, so my pickings are kinda slim. Is there any fast food or equivalent entry level places desperate for hires?

It's hard to tell the difference between "we have a hiring sign out but actually are incredibly overstaffed and won't be actively hiring until someone quits" and "we actually need new people." So I wanted to ask here if anyone knows specific locations that are actively looking as opposed to "always accepting applications."

It feels like in 2026, your only options are a part-time job that pays absolute pennies, or being completely unemployed. I was unemployed for six months before finally landing my current part time job. Because of that six month gap, I feel like finding a full time job is impossible right now. I’ve interviewed for three different full time roles, and every single one of them ended with a "no, we went with someone who has more experience." It’s beyond frustrating because I have open availability and all the time in the world for a full time job. I know I have enough experience to handle a full time retail or entry level job. Instead, I’m stuck in a loop: my current job keeps scheduling me Monday through Friday, from 9:30 AM to 5:15 PM every single day. You would think working those hours would result in a decent paycheck, but you’d be wrong. The pay is so low that if you don't save half of your paycheck just to make it to the next one, you literally have zero money left over. Making matters worse, I am about to start college and move into a dorm room soon. I literally cannot afford the things I need for school or my dorm because this job pays next to nothing. Meanwhile, my parents don't understand the reality of it at all. They don't understand why I'm looking for something else, constantly saying, "Well, at least your job is giving you the hours!" They don't get that working full time hours for unlivable wages isn't a win it's just exhaustion without any financial progress.
I am mentally exhausted from working every single day for basically nothing.
My questions for you all:

1. What do I even need to do at this point to land a decent full-time job in the Minneapolis/Bloomington, MN area (or nearby suburbs)?
2. How do I get past the "we went with someone with more experience" wall when I'm just trying to break into full-time work?
3. Any advice, local employer recommendations, or even just some solidarity would be hugely appreciated

with somebody else and I have an interview with a pet store for a supervisor position but the problem is that I have zero supervisor experience but they are going to be doing a second interview with me on October 23, I already did a first interview with them as a phone call interview I feel like might have a higher chance of getting the Old navy job and a very small or zero chance of getting the pet store job because I have zero of the experience that they want.

Hi everyone! I had to leave the Twin Cities last year and move back home with my parents due to health issues (thankfully now all sorted out). I have been trying to move back to the Twin Cities but I need to have a job lined up so I can find housing. I have a B.S. in Technical Writing and experience in Administrative and Social Work positions.

I have been out of college for two years and I have applied to 300 jobs in the Twin Cities area since last year. I have applied to jobs with Fairview, Medtronic, Ramsey/Hennepin County, various hotels, multiple non-profits, and more. I am sure I overlooked a few companies/organizations in my hunt so far. If any of you know of other places that might need someone with my skill set please let me know!
