Anyone else feel like the organization and selling of relics in Moonlighter 2 is basically just a fun OCD simulator experience? (“Fun” as in it scratches the itch, so to speak.)
(Disclaimer: You don’t have to play this way, so if you read this post and think, “Oh man, that sounds way too tedious, I don’t know if this game is for me,” remember, I’m admitting to having OCD and, apparently, enjoying it lol.)
During runs, you have to place everything very strategically, consider which relics will net you the most profit, which you can get rid of, which to prioritize for improvements, etc.
After runs and before selling is where the OCD really kicks in. Due to how the perks work for selling, I have to organize everything in my backpack and chest in exact order of profit potential. And it isn’t as easy as just looking at rarity and quality values. You have to consider any active perks from furniture, the various skill trees, the bloblets, and day of week (e.g. if a region’s relics are popular that day). And when your chest and backpack are largely full but you don’t want to get rid of anything, getting everything in exact order definitely becomes an exercise in OCD (I mean, at least for me). Grab some relics, put them on a pedestal, see what you might get from them, go back to your chest, rearrange everything in order…then grab some more and repeat process until everything is exactly as you want it.
But then…the payoff (literally and figuratively) is wonderful! I didn’t look in this subreddit until endgame as I didn’t want to spoil anything by seeing how much profit others made in a single day, and I’m glad I didn’t lol. Helped me enjoy my OCD simulator experience even more!
Anyways, happy relic hunting everyone!
