Question How are the twinks specifically blonde twinks at OSU

Ohio state is one of my top choices and I’m wondering how open it is for gay guys. I’m bisexual and I know about the girls but like how is the gay scene and I’m talking like as a top going for bottoms. Also for the chocolate class how good does the chocolate taste that you make. Also I’m a hella picky eater how is the food for picky eaters. Thanks yall. Much love from Alaska.

Question Why are there so many people trying to convert me on campus?

I keep seeing these religious people around campus preaching or trying to convert people with whiteboards saying things like "are you going to heaven?" or "is god real?" and they fascinate me but I've always blown right past them. Has anyone actually talked to any of them and what was that like? Same goes for the mormons and jehova's witnesses.

Question Taylor Tower flooded!

What have you heard about the Taylor Tower flood? It sounds like residents are being told they can’t return after break. Photos and videos are pretty dramatic. Where will they put everyone?!

Question How do we prevent OSU from having another commencement speaker like this?

What happened at commencement today made me genuinely embarrassed to be graduating from OSU. I had lots of family there, but I’m the first one to attend OSU. The commencement speaker made me feel like I went to a sham university despite how hard I’ve been working for years. I’m hoping the backlash about his objectively bad speech (regardless of how you feel about bitcoin, it wasn’t a good speech) will make OSU reconsider how they made the decision to let him do that today. Is there anywhere we can submit feedback about graduation/commencement? What’s done is done, but I don’t want future graduates to have to deal with this garbage. I think a random person from our graduating class might have actually given a better speech. We deserve better than a literal advertisement for bracelets.

I was going back and forth on whether or not to go to commencement, and I ended up deciding to go because I assumed I was more likely to regret not going than going. Well, I kind of regret going. It was nice to celebrate with everyone, but that’s it. I feel especially bad for everyone who graduated high school in 2020, so this is likely to be the ONLY commencement they ever get. That sucks.

All that being said, I’ve never felt more connected to the Class of 2024 than when we all booed that guy.

Question 18 Credit hours 1st semester?

Post image
27 Upvotes

These are the classes I’m gonna take this autumn semester. Is 18 credit hours that bad I feel like it makes sense to max out your credit hours bc it costs the same.

Also what are the odds I get off the waitlist for these classes I’m a single digit number so I guessing it almost guaranteed?

These pics are from my grandmother's in Columbus. I don't think this could be anything other than OSU's stadium based on its size but I'd like confirmation. I can't find pics online. Thanks!

Question More racism than the past??

I am a senior, Asian student. Started school about 3-4 years ago, and had no experience of racism back then and even until last semester. However, since this school year starts, I have already experienced that three times and it's only the first week of the semester. Why is this? New generation not getting educated? Just wondering

Question Anyone else see the scene in Pomerene today?

I was in my psych class today and this cop came in and tried to remove this guy from class- my prof kicked the cop out because he didn’t have a warrant but 5-6 cops detained him after class. I’m very nosy and curious lmfao so did anyone else see or know what happened??

EDIT: truly did not expect so many people to see this omg. from what i’ve pieces together, there was an anti-abortion/ pro life protest on the oval today (gross as fuck.) the dude in my class kicked a sign and damaged it, and someone from the protest followed him to class while on the phone w the police. they detained him after class but seemed to let him go. shoutout to the homies who helped me piece this together 🤭🤭🤭

Question How are some students affording such expensive apartments?

I’m trying to understand the finances here. How much/what percentage of your income do you usually spend on rent? Mid-rise luxury apartments are popping up every semester. Undoubtedly this is driven by the developers, but this also indicates a growing demand for a certain type of lifestyle and luxury among the students.

Is everyone secretly rich now?

Question how are recent grads finding jobs ....im struggling!??

Context: I graduated this spring and have been looking for jobs. I have a dual degree (BA x2) in sociology and psychology but it seems like the only jobs i can get are absolutely terrible. Like i know not to expect the most amazing first job experience post grad but everything seems so unrelated to my degree its so discouraging. Like i want to eventually go to grad school but currently don't have the funds. at the same time i want a job that is related to either of my majors.

Q: does anyone have any advice on what organizations or job types to apply to? is it possible to even apply to internships as a recent alumni?

I've literally been applying to case jobs and fancy named roles that are basically childcare workers. and every internship job i've seen talks about how they want someone taking classes.

Question If you could start college all over again, would you still pick OSU?

Saw this question on NYU subreddit and wants to know what you all think.

My answer: I personally would. I have a strong affinity for my major(s)/department(s) and very fortunate to have amazing and helpful professors. I also happened to be a part of multiple clubs that granted me a balanced social life.

Not the main reason but I think OSU’s football culture adds an exciting dimension to my college experience. In my opinion, even though I wasn’t much of a football fan, it fosters a sense of community and school spirit.

I think overall, my time at OSU was enjoyable.

Question 🧊 spring career fair

does anyone else find it disrespectful that ice was the spring career fair ? i’m not even thinking just about politics but the principle of the situation. this is one of the biggest universities in the country where students work so hard spending time and money to get their education, no one is coming here to settle for being an ice agent. whether people agree with what they’re doing or not i feel like all students need to be so serious about how insulting it is too our hard work that the university would even allow that to be presented as an option. literally NO ONE is coming here to settle for being an ice agent.

Question Since when did the Grubhub robots make off-campus deliveries?

Post image

I saw this guy on North Neil Avenue around 6:30 pm Sunday. Definitely almost got hit by a car while crossing the street.

Does dining services offer robot delivery to off-campus addresses? I can’t remember ever seeing a delivery robot cross Lane Avenue or otherwise go off campus before today.

Question Sexual harrasement

So has anyone else dealt with sexual harassment as a student worker and title 9 office literally doing nothing? Traditions at Kennedy has a serious problem with a full time employee(35m) showing his dick pics to young female student workers in the dish room. He's been reported several times now to title 9 and they seem to just advise the student to quit or move shifts. Is this happening else where on campus? Anyone have any suggestions on what should be done next? because hes done this to 6 students in less than 2 years.

Question Why doesn't Wexner speak at the graduation ceremonies?

What a missed opportunity by OSU. I mean the guy is a successful multi-billionaire alumnus whose name is plastered over every building. What gives?

This is a man who knows all about networking and finance, and has rubbed elbows with the most esteemed socialites, intellectuals, and politicians of our time. He would be a bastion of knowledge for students and staff alike. I demand an explanation from the university. Let's get this man behind the podium for the class of 26'!

Question Did any staff get this gift in the mail?

Post image

I vaguely remember doing something to receive this, I just don't remember what. I even tried looking back in my emails. Did anyone else get this gift and remember why it was offered? It is an umbrella with the new hospital pictured on one side and the wexner medical center logo on the other.
