Only Fools and Horses fans could be treated to more unseen footage of John Challis and Sue Holderness, with a documentary filmed just weeks before John’s death being offered to broadcasters.
The pair, who gave us so many laughs as Boycie and Marlene, sat down together to talk about their time on the show for A Marriage Made in Peckham.
Filmmaker Lazar Vukovic, who also made Boycie in Belgrade, says he has more than four hours of footage of John and Sue discussing the comedy. He believes it could be made into a two-hour special or a two-part series.
Speaking to The Sun, Lazar said: “This was the last time John stepped in front of a camera, and he spent it doing what he did best — making people laugh alongside Sue.”
He added that they had wanted to wait for the right moment and were now looking for a broadcaster to give the documentary a home.
John’s first appearance as Boycie came in the second episode of Only Fools and Horses, with Sue joining the cast as Marlene four years later. Their characters went on to become such favourites that they were given their own spin-off, The Green Green Grass.
There’s no broadcast confirmed yet, but after enjoying The Lost Archive, the chance to see John and Sue talking about their years together is something many fans would love.
