Three months ago, we shared an appeal for Muning, a brave rescue cat who urgently needed eye enucleation surgery.

Right before her planned procedure, initial pre-op assessments revealed that Muning tested positive for Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP).

Because her body was severely weak, her eye surgery had to be put on immediate hold. We pivoted all our focus and funds into stabilizing her body, covering her continuous tests, emergency care, and confinement to fight off FIP. Thanks to everyone who rooted for her during that terrifying moment, Muning pushed through and stayed strong!

🏥 Clinic Reassessment & Next Steps (Current Update)

We brought Muning back to the veterinary clinic for her comprehensive reassessment.

The vet evaluated her current condition and recommended that we return in two weeks for her Complete Blood Count (CBC) and Blood Chemistry testing.

Once her bloodwork results come back clear and healthy in two weeks, we will immediately proceed with her long-awaited eye enucleation surgery. We brought Forbie to the vet today for her scheduled post-FIP graduation checkup!

Before leaving home, Forbie had no nose discharge at all. However, during travel and upon arriving at the clinic, we noticed some minor nasal discharge. Since Forbie was already completely cleared of an Upper Respiratory Infection (URI) during her previous checkup, the vet explained that this discharge is most likely just irritation rather than an infection.

To ensure her lab results are 100% accurate and keep her comfortable, the vet advised giving her medication for the irritation first. Her Complete Blood Count (CBC) and Blood Chemistry testing will be paused for 2 weeks until the discharge completely clears up.

🔒 FINANCIAL / CAMPAIGN STATUS: All donations raised for Forbie's portion of the CBC and Blood Chem panel are being kept in reserve. They will be strictly applied to her tests in two weeks once her short treatment is complete!

Our FIP warriors are currently in the middle of their treatment, but they’ve developed quite an attitude about their meals. 😹 The only wet foods they'll reliably eat and the ones we use to help them take their daily GS pills without a fight are getting harder to keep in stock. 🥲

This is a huge priority for us because Forbie, one of our rescues, cannot be stressed under any circumstances as her asthma is easily triggered. Making mealtime smooth and struggle-free keeps her safe and breathing comfortably.

Our landlord has let us know that we likely only have about a month left before we have to move our rescue cats from their current space. While transition days are never easy, day by day, I realize this decision is going to be one of the absolute best things we’ve ever done for them.

Sooner rather than later, these cats are going to have a much better space with proper, secure isolation rooms for our sick babies, and so much more space to run, play, and heal like they deserve.

They say that as you grow older, your birthday wishes change. For me, that shift happened the exact moment Pawsitive Guardians came to life. Ever since I started this mission, I honestly stopped wishing for anything for myself anymore. Every year, my heart's desires, my prayers, and my hopes are reserved entirely for the team and the rescues who depend on us.

As my birthday approaches on the 12th of October, I’ve been reflecting on how far we've come, but also on the heavy mountains we still need to move. Running a rescue isn't just about feeding and sheltering; it’s a constant, sleepless battle to keep them safe, healthy, and protected—and right now, we are facing two critical hurdles that we desperately need to overcome.

First, we need to secure our cats' new home. To successfully move them out of their current place and into a safer, more stable environment where they can finally breathe easy, we need to prepare the PHP 16,000 downpayment.

Second, we are still carrying a massive vet balance of roughly PHP 73,000. These are the medical bills from fighting for lives, treating the sick, and giving every rescue a fighting chance. Wiping this balance clean is the only way we can keep our doors open for the next animal who desperately needs medical intervention.

Some days are so heavy that it feels overwhelming. Because the weight is so big right now, I am deeply hoping and praying that someone with a wider network, a big platform, or a heart for rescue animals might see this and help us fundraise, share, or amplify our story.
