Talofa lava!
My partner and I are visiting Samoa for the first time next June and July for about 11 days for our honeymoon. We're flying in from the Basque Country, spending 3–4 days in New Zealand first to shake off the jet lag. It's a trip I always had in mind and a county I really wanted to visit, and personally I'm very excited about it.
We're visiting both Upolu and Savaii and genuinely looking forward to experiencing the real, everyday life of the islands and trying to connect with families, rather than just passing through as typical tourists (we normally escape from hotels). I'm even trying to pick up some basic Samoan, I'm using an app called Asalei 😅
We’d love any recommendations for more local spots, apart from the most famous ones that everybody recommends (we have already planned going to To Sua or Lalomanu). We really want to be respectful guests and appreciate your culture properly. Any tips are also welcome!
Fa'afetai tele lava! 😊
