Theater #4 at Cineplex isn't properly set up for 4:3 films

This is the weirdest and most nit picky complaint, but it has happened twice now.

First was Primetime and noticed that something was off. The sides of the screen as they approach the top begin to come in. It wasn't the worst thing in the world, but it meant some of the scenes felt a little more soft than they should.

Then last night I saw You Can See Everything and it was REALLY noticeable to me. It almost looks like the top bar that holds up the screen has slumped down over the years so now the screen isn't entirely straight and both sides of the film were keystoning inwards towards the top of the screen and it was incredibly distracting.

I assume this is not an issue for them with Widescreen films because you can go a little over the bounds when projecting those, but for 4:3 it was supremely distracting. Am I the only one noticing this or are there film obsessives out there who have noticed this as well? I just wish they would hire a decently paid projectionist again, it was one of the biggest losses when the theater was bought by cineplex and switched everything to fire and forget digital projection.

Sound Familiar

Was watching Good Mythical Morning and the story at 6:50 sounded WAY too familiar. Double checked and, yup, they were talking about the guy from here who boiled bones.

I went to high school with him LOL

Here’s a link to the video they uploaded today; mentioned it at 6:50

Roundabout under Pitts Memorial stormwater

This is a question for anyone who worked on that project. There is only one water collection grate on each side of the road that are under the overpass.

Is this going to be enough considering the pooling trouble we used to have there in the past years?

Everything is downhill into those two grades from two roundabouts and I have no idea how they’ll cope with the volume and when it gets iced over.

Torani sauce (or similar)

Just curious, does anyone know where to buy Torani puremade sauce (not the glass bottle syrups) in St. John’s? Or even a similar recommendation? Thanks!

Rental market

Just got a house in CBS close to manuels rivers. Its a two apartment so the basement is currently vacant. I am thinking to rent it if I can find someone. The house was build in 2015 and recently I got it renovated all over. Up and down both apartments with brand new appliances, paint and such. Do you guys think it’s easy to rent out close to Manuels River. It’s two bedroom and the build in area is probably around 2200 sq feet.

Thinking to keep rent at $1000 plus pou. I can throw in wifi if tenants like. Looking for ideas if rental market is hot or not. Unless I will just use the basement for recreational purposes!

Thanks

Generator transfer switch/panel installation

What is the cost to install a generator transfer switch/panel. I read through a web search that I need a licensed electrician to wire this up.

Can I do all of the installation and just have an electrician do the final connections?

I was in the Royal Navy and my job was head of the electrical department among other duties on the ships I was on so know what is required.

Garage that will do underspray with provided cans

Does anyone know of a garage in metro that will do an undercoating with provided cans and just charge the labour? I'm looking to get my car coated with a lanolin-based spray and the only garage that does that is BDP out in Torbay (they're not taking appointments until Christmas time and the location is far from ideal for me).

I was hoping my regular garage would do it with provided cans but they have a contract to do a rubberized spray and won't do any others. West end of town or Mount Pearl would be ideal. My plan B is to get some kind of ramps and do it myself but I would rather just get a garage to do it for me if I can find one since I would make a mess and doubt I would cover as well as a pro would.
