Weapon X has been deployed. And its arrival on Solaris-3 is rapidly approaching.
To make its arrival possible several incredibly powerful forces had to be mobilized: the Azure Dragon Sentinel, Shorekeeper, the Second Instance, Fallacy (the Tethys System), and, of course, that mysterious goddess. So many powerful beings involved in a single operation There's no way that's just a coincidence.
Here's my theory: I believe Weapon X represents some kind of ultimate solution against the Lament, designed as a contingency plan in case Rover fails to complete their mission.
An entity possessing knowledge far beyond that of the current Rover, one that knows the consequences of previous attempts to save Solaris-3. Unlike Rover, Weapon X would have no emotional attachments. Feelings, bonds, trust in humanity, or even individual sacrifices would mean absolutely nothing to it.
Its only priority would be to save Solaris-3, no matter the cost, by executing a solution that had already been determined. Remember what happened with Shorekeeper and the Tethys System. Originally, Shorekeeper was supposed to be sacrificed to ensure the system could continue functioning. But Rover refused to accept that fate and chose to save her.
A deeply human decision, but one that could be considered a mistake by an entity whose sole purpose is to guarantee the mission's success. And according to my theory Weapon X's very first action will be to absorb Shorekeeper.
To Weapon X, Shorekeeper would simply be a component that should never have been spared. Her survival would be nothing more than the result of Rover's emotional attachment, a decision that was never part of the original plan. Weapon X would therefore attempt to restore everything to the way it was originally intended.
This could also explain why its silhouette seems to share certain features with Shorekeeper. And don't forget that Shorekeeper herself mentioned the possibility of being easily replaced if she were to disappear. Coincidence? I don't think so. Maybe everything was planned from the very beginning. 🤣
Obviously, Rover wouldn't just stand by and do nothing.
But this time, Rover might be facing something completely different from any previous enemy. Weapon X would consider Rover themselves a defective product.
After all, if Rover was originally tasked with saving Solaris-3, but their emotions and personal decisions ended up compromising certain plans, a purely pragmatic intelligence might conclude that Rover is no longer fit to fulfill that mission.
Weapon X would then take control and begin executing its own plan to save humanity. Except that this solution could result in billions of deaths, or even the destruction of entire civilizations. 😅
Sacrifices that Rover would absolutely refuse to accept, especially since the success of this plan wouldn't necessarily be guaranteed. And that's where the real ideological conflict between the current Rover and Weapon X would begin.
Both would be trying to save Solaris-3, but their visions would be completely opposed. Rover would refuse to sacrifice humanity in order to save the world, while Weapon X would consider those sacrifices a necessary price to pay.
Their confrontation would become inevitable. Rover would attempt to save Shorekeeper while simultaneously stopping Weapon X.
But in my theory Rover will lose that battle. Simply because Weapon X would surpass Rover in almost every aspect: power, knowledge, abilities, and understanding of the situation. It might even represent a far more advanced version of what Rover was originally supposed to become. For the first time, Rover would be completely powerless. They would experience true despair, unable to protect the people they care about and unable to prevent the approaching catastrophe.
This defeat would mark the end of a chapter: the story of Rover, the savior who, this time, failed. But here's the thing: I don't necessarily consider Weapon X a true antagonist. It would simply be a machine or entity carrying out the mission it was designed for, using an extremely radical solution.
Deep down, both Weapon X and Rover would be pursuing exactly the same goal. The difference is that everything might have already been orchestrated by a deity, with a precise plan and a predetermined outcome.
But Rover represents the unknown. An unpredictable variable with infinite possibilities. Rover learns, evolves, and constantly surpasses the limits imposed upon them. Unlike Weapon X, which might remain trapped within its calculations and predetermined solutions. And that's exactly what could change everything.
But let's get back to Rover's defeat. This is precisely where I believe the Fractsidus will enter the picture, especially the Grand Architect. With Shorekeeper💀 no longer there to guide Rover, they might be forced to seek answers from the very people they've always fought against.
The Fractsidus possess their own knowledge of the Lament and have long pursued objectives that go far beyond Rover's current understanding. The Grand Architect, in particular, might possess crucial information about Weapon X's origins, its functioning, and perhaps even the true intentions of those who sent it.
An alliance could then become possible, despite their completely opposing goals. Of course, the Fractsidus wouldn't do this for free.
They would demand something in return. And knowing their ambitions, I seriously doubt it would be anything insignificant. 😅 This situation could also allow Rover to uncover a large part of their past, understand why previous attempts failed, and, most importantly, surpass their current limitations.
A true awakening, both in terms of power and knowledge. In fact the title TRANSCENDO would make perfect sense. Rover would have to transcend their own existence.
Because unlike Weapon X, which would operate according to an already established plan, Rover would be that unpredictable variable with infinite possibilities, capable of constantly evolving. Rover would eventually surpass Weapon X, not only through sheer power, but also through the ability to take paths that no calculation could ever anticipate.
And after witnessing this evolution Weapon X would finally decide to place its trust in the current Rover. It would be a massive victory. But unfortunately, that victory would be short-lived😆
Because during all this time, the Fractsidus would have continued pursuing their own objectives. And they would eventually seize Weapon X to conduct their own experiments. Something that might have been part of their plan from the very beginning.
Rover would have successfully prevented one catastrophe, only to unintentionally allow the Fractsidus to obtain a power that could become even more dangerous in their hands. And that's how I imagine the story unfolding. 🤣
Of course, this is just my current theory, based on the TRANSCENDO trailer and certain elements of the lore.
But seriously, that trailer got me way too hyped. And don't forget, there's still so much we don't know about this universe.
The White Tower, Yangyang the deities, Abraxas, the Arbiters and all the other unknown powers could play a much bigger role in the events to come.
We're only at the beginning of a very long journey.
