Pitshenik's 1937 Yiddish Odyssey renders "polútropon" as "farvoglt"
Wrote a short piece on this, starting from a Forward article. Moshe Leyb Pitshenik finished a Yiddish Odyssey in 1937 (it won the Yiddish PEN Club prize), and for the famous first-line epithet, the "man of many turns," he went with farvoglt. Lost, far from home. A few lines later Odysseus survives a khurbn.
He was murdered outside Kazimierz in 1941. The piece puts him next to Moshe Ha-Elion, an Auschwitz survivor who translated the Odyssey into Ladino at 90.

Has anyone here seen the Pitshenik translation itself? Curious whether it was ever reprinted or digitized.
