I am currently really annoyed and struggeling with the Lancastor Castle cheese, where the lancaster player just picks 8 villagers places the lancaster castle right into your face and blocks you from your natural gold, and since their british-villagers all have bows you cant prevent it from happening.
Do you have any general tipps how you play vs Lancaster? Because i have encountered the build quite often in the last days, but i havent won a single game against it yet :/

My Frenchmen and Frenchwomen I have committed the cardinal sin. I have started building barracks every game.
I couldn't get out of gold playing French going knight-archer. I couldn't micro hard enough to kill enemy spear-horseman when they could just A-move into me.
Then one day an obscene thought hit me: what if I build a barracks and build spears to protect my archers, I could group them together. I pushed Q + B, built a barracks, mixed spears into my archers. The ensuing slaughter was glorious. I made it to platinum 2. I even beat a Malian player for the first time in ages.
I haven't been able to quit this barracks habbit. The wins have been too good. Everytime I have 8-10 knights I feel this thought: stop hitting W for a moment, build some spears and the wins kept happening.
https://moreknights.com/ I hope you have rehab. I'll need to visit you soon.

Fairly certain im gonna catch negative feedback for this idea.
But I think it would be cool if you could queue for team draft pick. In 4v4 each team can ban 2 then take turns picking with no duplicate civs. In 3v3 the same except each team could ban 3 and in 2v2 each team could ban 4.
We are about to have 25 CIVS total, none of these combinations of selections and bans would use even half the roster.
It seems odd to me that tournament play has always used a CIV pool selection process that exists nowhere outside of tournament environments.
It would be cool to have a game mode that encouraged experimentation and rewarded a diversity of competency across different civs.

These units are absolute garbage after the initial nerf we had during outback octagon. Now? Theyre so bad. They do hardly any damage, and the khan is easily killable too. Its supposed to be a hero unit but i always just manage to get out the debuff arrow before he dies. He has to be in combat for the buff so that cant be done different. GH mightve needed some nerfs in other aspects, but this was the wrong choice.
For our friend from Scottland what language does Scots speak is it Galish of Scottish
And for our danish and Norse friends does Viking speak Norse or Danish ?

Hey! I'm a 41-year-old player from Sweden (CET), mainly playing 3v3/4v4 team games at around 1100-1300 Elo. I'm looking for a few people to queue with during the daytime (roughly 9-17 CET) who like to play seriously and try their best, but stay relaxed and constructive when we lose.
I play text-chat only (no voice), so I'm looking for people who are fine with that. I care more about macro, decisions and positioning than APM. Add me in game:[NOX] DakkonBlackblade or drop a comment here!
I haven't played either civ for very long, and would love some inputs.

Very unexpected. Looks like we’re about to get a bump in player count come the expansion and a well-timed sale. 45k viewers at the moment.

Why do I have to remember all the steps to a Cow boom or a 2tc build? I mean it's just 4-5 boring minutes. I'm just smashing buttons.
Actually, I think we should just skip these 5 minutes. The game starts, a pop up appears asking what I want to do in dark age and BOOM, the game jump to 5 minutes later.
It's mindless smashing buttons brother. This way I can get to Conqueror 1 (currently gold 2) because I'll focus on more important things like checking my phone.
No dark age rush. Thanks God.

Longhouses when you look at their entirety seem like a great deal: a production building, a house, and a economic expansion. However due to its costs it actually makes trying to overleverage into anyone of thouse aspects inefficient.
If you make a ton of units and need longhouses to support population you are getting taxed pretty heavily. If you want to try and greed hard and just add a bunch of eco you are also being pretty inefficient. The longhouse forces the Vikings to balence between aggro and greed to be optimal
The longhouses design also give interesting counterplay on hybrid and water maps by forcing you to build them near the docks for the bonus this often means placing a really important building in a very exposed area.
Of cource the numbers likely will need fine tuning but I seems like the civ is balenced around having strong bonuses but being disincentivized from leaning too hard in any one direction.

Hey guys!
Just before the Content Creator Preview ends, I managed to publish one last video, and this time, I actually put quite a bit of time and effort into it!
It's an analysis & tier-list of the Viking Sagas, giving you a brief overview of what to aim for in the game.
Check it out on YouTube ("Seven Sagas Simplified"): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LVLhDmYXN4I
Enjoy! :)

I was wondering as a new player who is very interested in the Scots civilization if they would be considered a decent starting civilization to learn and main when first getting into the game?

Im wondering what the general perspective is queuing up for 2v2 with random matchmaking- is it worth while?
