General Question Do you worry that the reputation of the USA is trashed internationally?
I mean, it's pretty hard to argue that it's not

Meaning theyre really gonna start going after him and his corruption. You see Jared Kushner being outed as a mossad and saudi Arabia handler already….

I wonder what the common denominator is because it sure as heck isn’t States’ Rights.

It's clear that large companies are just going to continue to break the law and pay the fines. It's time that CEOs are held criminally responsible for any laws broken by their company. Do you agree?

I was thinking about it. I never had kids or got married, and sometimes i feel like maybe i missed out on a wonderful experience.
At the same time i have seen people frequently say being married young was like throwing away their youth.
What is your view?

I’m only interested in your opinion on this topic if you’re Mexican, so everybody else pipe down.

Question:
I'm already committed to events where I will see these people 2 times a year for the next two years. Is it possible to smooth over my mistake and make those trips pleasant? And is there a better way I could've handled the original situation?
What happened:
My ex was military and I used to work in an office of all men. After the divorce, my relationship with their wives deteriorated (and never recovered after I remarried). So I wasn't surprised when I wasn't invited to the wedding of one friend's daughter
We had a group Zoom to talk about an upcoming reunion we're all attending, and he closed with "see you all at the wedding this weekend." I guess he didn't know I wasn't invited and I asked for clarification. His wife, rather than answer the question, dropped off the call
One of the other guys like "it's in a public location so anybody can come" and I said that's not how weddings work. Finally one of the ladies piped up "I had to RSVP for the reception snd I wasn't allowed to add an additional person so I don't think you can just show up"
One of the other ladies recommended I come to the wedding anyway just to show my support. I live in a very sparsely populated province and most of the group is driving 3–5 hours to attend this wedding (it's not an unreasonable request). I told them "I'm not driving 5 hours each way to come to a wedding when I'm not invited to the reception"
During two of last year's trips, the ladies went off and did something without me. This year I skipped some trips because I felt excluded, and I briefly mentioned those two in an attempt to show that this is becoming a problem we need to address if we're gonna keep traveling together as a group (which were already committed to 2 events per year for the next two years). I think this group likes my husband, not me 😂
I also said I was not fishing for an invite and I wasn't offended that they didn't invite me (I figured there was limited space). I just didn't want to "not show up" if they were actually expecting me (which is what is implied by saying "see you all at the wedding next weekend")
But now the ladies are offended, and I'm worried that's gonna be more negative energy for me to deal with when we do get together later
Is there any way (other than backing out of the already planned events for the next two years) for me to smooth things over?
If you had been in the situation where you did not think you were invited but the bride's father said "see you at the wedding next weekend" would you have asked for clarification? How would you have handled it?

I mailed my ballot for the November 3rd election on October 10th at my local post office. The post office is in an affluent area of my city and have never had issues there. In past elections my ballot has been received by the local election office in 2 days. The election is one week away and this is the message I receive when I tracked my ballot this morning on October 27th.
WAITING TO BE PROCESSED BY USPS
What in the hell is going on?
For those who say I should have voted in person…I have a medical issue that prevents me from voting in person like I used to be able to do.

I was thinking about how making unannounced phone calls or visiting friends without texting first used to be totally normal, but now it's practically considered an aggressive act. Technology changed our boundaries fast.
What's one old social norm you actually wish we kept?

Genuinely, I struggle so much with it. Anytime someone wants me to do something, even if i dont want to, I do it. I have spent a ton of money on my friends and stuff when they ask for stuff, and because im the only one working/who has money, i feel really really bad. I really need to save though, because im trying to move out of my parents place as soon as i turn 18.
I have no idea how im supposed to say no, or even have a conversation about raining in the spending when we go out. It is partially my fault I guess, because i have let it go on for so long, but I have no idea HOW im supposed to do it. Its not as "simple" as it sounds.
Genuinely any advice or tips or support is appreciated, thank you in advance

For me, it's the constant insertion of forced comedic relief during what should be emotional or high-stakes dramatic moments. Characters can't sit with a serious feeling for ten seconds without cracking a meta-joke to undercut the tension. It completely ruins the immersion.
What trope do you wish writers would abandon immediately?

I notice that there is support for women who do this. But I'm a guy that does it too, but there isn't many people who comment on people like me.

I always read it as this sorta out of body experience, where you lose control and it feels really good.
I'm trying, but whenever I get that feeling of "waves if pleasure", or whatever, it feels nice and then goes away. it doesn't feel like I've finished at all.
Is this normal? Are orgasms just not as good as people say they are?
edit: (masturbation, not sex.)
