Hello all, as the title suggests I am looking into starting hand engraving. I dont know a lot and i know its a steep learning curve but what im looking for is cheap durable materials to get to get the feel of the practice before investing fully. The results or style im leaning towards is like the picture above ^.
Any suggestions and or advice into where i can get my hands on the tools for this style of engraving is greatly appreciated!! Thank you all in advance <3
Edit: this is not my work, just an example of what i want to do. Sorry for the confusion >_<

So I thought I was being pretty clever and bought myself a tattoo stencil printer to transfer my designs onto the carving block.
Figured I'd get all the right tools, make the whole process easier, and finally get into carving properly.
I was honestly feeling pretty proud of my little setup... until I actually started carving lol.
Why are my carved lines so shallow? 😭
Am I using the wrong carving tool, not applying enough pressure, or just completely missing something obvious?
Any advice would be appreciated before I convince myself I need to buy even more tools 😂

Hello everyone! I am a high school student on a throwaway account hoping I could get some people who are interested in engraving to fill out this quick (2-4 minute) google form. This is for an important marketing project and one of the steps is doing a survey on your target market for your imaginary company (this is not a real product).
Please provide honest answers to the form, and any questions can be sent to my throwaway email at [johmthrowaway764@gmail.com](mailto:johmthrowaway764@gmail.com). Thank you!

Hey everyone,
Just curious how many people here are still using Xenetech engravers and the original Xenetech software.
I've been using Xenetech for a while, and the software still does its job, I've always felt that parts of the interface and workflow could use some improvement.
So I started a personal project that makes this old program a little bit better.
I've redesigned much of the interface with a dark theme, added quick-access tools, improved parts of the printing workflow, worked on keyboard shortcuts, and built a separate launcher and installer. The mod works alongside an existing Xenetech installation without permanently modifying the original executable.
I've recently finished the first working version, tested on Windows 11 with Xenetech 6.59.132.3.
This started as something I wanted for my own workflow, but I'm curious whether other Xenetech users would find it useful.
Is anyone here still using Xenetech regularly? What version are you running, and what are your biggest frustrations with it?
If there's interest, I might invite a few existing users to test the mod and give me some feedback.
I'd especially like to hear from people who still use these machines for everyday engraving work.

I’ve had this thing for less than a year and have really enjoyed using it but it just died on me though it was charged. It’s like the motor just quit working. I’ve seen another post about this. Does anyone know if this is a known issue with this Resparked tool?

I struggle a bit with pricing my work especially when a project starts to get very time consuming. the demon slayer(anime) mirror took easily over 30h and I always think people will get scared when price gets high. feel free to share your experience with that please!
