Player Discussion Those who picked Wemby over Jokic with the 1st pick / in auction, why did you make your choice?

Relative novice to fantasy NBA here - I recognise Wemby and Jokic are the clear 1/2 in fantasy and there’s probably no wrong choice - but to me it seems like Jokic has the ability to carry a fantasy team harder than Wemby can. I’m just curious why some of the more seasoned managers here chose Wemby over Jokic? What did you prefer with going Wemby?

Player Discussion Thoughts on Quentin Grimes?

I picked him up late into the draft and am not expecting much but wondering what everyone’s else’s thoughts are? Last year he was off and on the waivers all throughout the season and this year I finally scooped him up.

Discussion Yahoo Record Book: Best and Worst Turnovers?

I’ve noticed that Yahoo Fantasy has a record book feature this year, but something is confusing me and I can’t find any answers. There are records for turnovers, but it’s split as “best” and “worst” and I can’t figure out what “best” could mean. If anyone knows what this is, can you please help me out?

Breaking News Orlando Magic guard Jalen Suggs has been diagnosed with a mild bone bruise in his right knee and will be re-evaluated in two weeks, sources tell ESPN. Suggs avoided any other major structural damage.

Player Discussion Josh Hart vs Ajay Mitchell

Trying to gouge Ajay’s value now after Jdub’s injury in 13-cat. Especially in comparison to late round guards like Josh Hart that are especially important in leagues with many categories. For example having rebounds separated into offensive and defensive.

Player Discussion Day’Ron Sharpe

How are we feeling about this guy? It’s been a lackluster week 1 for the big fella in Brooklyn. Some of that could be chalked up to foul trouble. But eye-test wise are we still seeing the breakout season everybody was hyped for? Are the Nets to blame for playing Dubious Handle PG ball? And more importantly, are we holding in shallow formats like 10/12 teamers? Personally, I’ll probably hold for a week or more since Josh Lloyds doing it.

Player Discussion Stephen Curry

Whoever has Steph. Try your best to get rid of him now. The warriors are the worst team in the league and Steve Kerr already has plans to sit him to preserve his knees. He is a ticking time bomb, I would ship him for any star that could be relatively healthy down the road. Use whatever games that he does well in to ship him off.

Player Discussion Is CJ McCollum the odd man out?

Rest of the ATL Hawks line up are great fantasy options but there is just one ball to share around. Is he a drop or he could still be the main facilitator of the team?

Discussion Am i supposed to be add dropping constantly

Hey all I'm playing fantasy basketball for the first time, and after 1 week, I have a question.

Playing Cat 9 head to head, and I did 4 add/drops on the margins to win my first match. Is there supposed to be this much churn and burn?

Player Discussion Anthony Black

Black made his season debut Sunday after missing the first two games with an ankle sprain, and he looked more than ready, scoring 18 points on 6-of-11 shooting with 5 3s, 5 assists, 3 boards and 2 steals in 26 minutes. With Banchero out for an extended period and Suggs hurt, Black will play a lot of minutes and provide a much-needed versatile guard who can create, defend and help generate offense. The Magic elected not to extend him earlier in the offseason. It'll be interesting to see how his play might force their hand. He's a must-add in all formats as he'll see a big boost in usage going forward. CONGRATS IF YOU SNAGGED HIM.

Discussion Best free matchup tracker/predictor?

In past seasons I’ve used Basketballmonster (paid), and FantasyWizard app to check weekly matchup predictions to show which categories will be close, easy wins losses etc. I can’t seem to find anything that works for this season. Is there any free (or at least cheap) resources that can help with this?

Discussion Week 2 waiver wire adds: 33 pickups rostered in under 65% of Yahoo leagues, grouped by league size

Week 2 adds are live. Every pick is rostered in under 65% of Yahoo leagues as of today (October 26), all for 9-cat leagues, grouped into six tiers by league size — from 10-teamers down to the 14–16-team deep names.

Full list with stats for all 33: https://www.nbadepthcharts.com/waiver-wire-week-2

A few that stood out: - Anthony Black (ORL · 48% · 10-team tier) — Great first game back, and now Suggs may be out a couple weeks. Recall Black started last season on fire and could be more consistent this year. - Ajay Mitchell (OKC · 55% · 10–12-team tier) — Should be back to his role from last season with JDub now out again. - Paul Reed (DET · 50% · 12-team tier) — Should be serviceable for a couple weeks with Duren out. - Jaxson Hayes (UTA · 27% · 12–14-team tier) — Great source for blocks for at least a few more weeks until Nurkic returns. - Dennis Schröder (CHA · 26% · 14-team tier) — Some counting stats for your team until White returns. - Kris Dunn (LAC · 22% · 14-team tier) — Great source for steals, and better all-around than Keon Ellis. - Keon Ellis (BKN · 15% · 14–16-team tier) — Great source for steals if Dunn isn't available. May lose more and more minutes to Mikel Brown. - Ja'Kobe Walter (TOR · 7% · 14–16-team tier) — 2.3 SPG and 2.7 3PM are unsustainable, but hard to ignore.

Player Discussion Kris Dunn

He's off to a heater. Do you guys think this is sustainable even with Brandon Ingram and Bradley Beal back? I feel like he has found his role to be a valuable fantasy asset going forward. He is also averaging 3.3 STLS right now. Is he the best fantasy pickup right now?

Discussion How do you approach H2H matchups this early?

Sorry if this should go in daily OAG thread, but thought the overall discussion might be bigger.

This early in the season with the tiny sample sizes, how are you approaching setting your lineup this week?

Eg. I won 5-1-1 last week but would’ve lost to this week’s opponent 2-5. Would you put your “best” lineup out there in terms of ADP? Performance thus far? Are you looking at which cats are close and focusing on them while punting the ones that wouldn’t have been close?

Just trying to get an overall feel for whether I should be sticking with guys like Harden and Buzelis in my lineups despite their awful first weeks.

Discussion Who’s your your highest pick that you just know will turn it around.

I’ve got Harden in second round 16 team 9cat H2H.

I know he off to a very slow start.

But is he on Chris Paul dramatic drop off territory or is this just a quick slump and will he bounce back? Father Time is undefeated as we all know.

I’m not overreacting here and I think he’ll hopefully probably be fine, but could this be the year where he takes that dramatic dip?

And Does it have to be the only time I draft him. 🤦🏽‍♂️

Who’s yours early pick that you know is just gonna turn it around.

Hes been amazing to start the season especially alongside giannis his playmaking numbers have seen an uptick and hes getting to his shots seemingly easier. Do we think he could be a top 100 player this season?
