Loopholes Encouraged A million dollars a year, but every year on your birthday you have to hide for 3 days.

• Upvotes

You get a million dollars but every year on your birthday you must stay hidden for 3 days. If anyone that knows who you are sees you or can correctly guess where you are then you lose out on the million dollars for the year but you can try again next year.

You can choose to hide in any way you want but anyone looking for you can use any resources they have to find you including hiring a private investigator, reporting you as missing to the police, or anything else they can think of.

Do you take the deal? How would you stay hidden?

PS: let's say that for this purpose if the person guesses somewhere within 100 meters of your location it will be counted as correct. I'm open to loopholes but want to stop any "I was actually standing 2 feet north of where they guessed" type comments.

You’re given a button, every time you push it, you get a million dollars, but everyone in your town or city has wages delayed by a week. How many times do you push?

• Upvotes

So for example, if you were to push the button 5 times, you’d receive 5 million dollars. In this scenario, everyone in your whole town or city wouldn’t be paid for 5 weeks, but at the end of that 5 weeks they would receive all the back pay for whatever they had missed.

They won’t know why their wages are being delayed, unless you for some reason tell them. This won’t affect whatever is currently in their account/possession, and won’t directly affect business from selling a product or receiving money for that or a service tendered.

If you live in a town of less than 20,000 people, the nearest town or city to you of at least that size will instead have their wages delayed instead of your own town or city.

You only have 10 minutes with the box, after which time it will disappear. Holding it down will only result in 1 single press. This will also affect people on any governmental assistance, so food stamps or disability for instance.

Fixed my previous post.

So how many times are you pressing that button?

Rubbing an antique bottle you just found, a genie appears, holding an "on strike" sign and in an exasperated voice, says "so, what the hell now? - The last guy wanted a million bucks, so I transported him to a small magical world where there's 1,000,000 stags during rutting season."

I only made him stay for 8hrs & sent an email to his employer to say "I'm not going to be in, today"

After I zapped him back home & asked him, what he'd like now. Wisely he wished I'd just go back to my bottle.

So... What the hell can I do for you?"

$350/hr to work at a low level at a fast food restaurant. How long do you stay?

1.3k Upvotes

A billionaire is running an experiment.

He is going to pay you $350/hr to work at a fast food restaurant in Florida. Your take-home, after tax pay will be about $480,000/yr.

You can be fired but not easily as long as you show up and do a decent job.

How many years do you stay at the job?

(This was inspired by a post I saw earlier)

Genie offers you $1 million or ability to keep making $350,000

Genie appears in front of you and offers you one of two wishes. You can only choose one. Which one are you choosing?

  1. $1 million no strings attached, one time payment

or

  1. $350,000 every time you have a new net bodily weight gain of 7 kilograms (roughly 15.4 pounds). For example, if you chose this wish and currently weighed 170 pounds (77kg), you could gain weight until you reached a little over 185 pounds (84kg). Once your weigh in reaches a new net weight gain of 7 kilograms, you will be paid out $350,000. After being paid out, you can repeat this process at any time to be paid again either by gaining a further 7 kilograms or losing weight first then gaining a new net 7 kg. Any official weigh ins must be after not having eaten or drank anything for the last 6 hours or longer, so realistically it would be in the morning upon waking.

You get $50 Million, but a random person you know will receive a weekly, unedited transcript of your internal thoughts. Do you accept?

Here are the rules:

• The selection is truly random: Every Sunday night, the universe randomly selects one person from your phone contacts, social media friends list, or someone you have spoken to in person within the last year. It could be your romantic partner, your boss, your mom, your childhood bully, or the barista at your local coffee shop.

• The transcript is absolute: They receive a neatly formatted, typed document (either printed on their desk or as a PDF on their phone) containing a word-for-word transcript of every single internal thought, judgment, dark fantasy, insecurity, and private opinion you had during the week.

• You never know who it is: You are never told who received the transcript for that week. You only find out if they choose to confront you, cut contact with you, or report you to the authorities / leak it to the public.

• The cycle repeats: Every week, a new random person is selected. It can be the same person multiple times, or a completely new one.

• No loopholes: You cannot delete your contacts or erase your social media before accepting to cheat the system. If you try to live like a hermit, the pool defaults to anyone who has ever known your name.

You cannot give the money back.

You are given the ability to teleport, but must choose one of two conditions. A: You can go anywhere in the world, but there's a 12 hour cooldown between uses. B: There's no cooldown, but you can only go places you can see from your current position. Which option do you choose and why?

For option B, seeing places through things like binoculars works, but places you see through things like camera feeds do not work.

You get $10 million, but every year you must disappear for 24 hours

Once a year, at a completely random time, you vanish from wherever you are.

You immediately wake up in a random location somewhere on Earth.

You have no phone, no money, and only the clothes you’re wearing.

Your goal is simple: survive the next 24 hours.

After exactly 24 hours, you’re teleported home, completely unharmed by any injuries you sustained.

But here’s the catch.
If you die during those 24 hours, you die permanently.

You can never predict when or where you’ll disappear, and you must accept this deal for the rest of your life.

Are you taking the $10 million?

Think about how your life is now, what would this change look like for you? How would you go about the different relationships in your life, and also how you present yourself to the public.

If you’re an anti royalist would this change? Or would you try and change the role to suit your ideals?

I’m interested to hear both people’s short and long term plans here!

Both are horrific options that are slow, agonizing and on unable to stop

If you don't choose, your family will be turned into horrific looking nightmares, unable to speak to anyone or look anyone in the face. This isn't a lack of makeup, this is the void level ugly

Considering I've had sciatica, I can tell you that it is extremely painful.

You go look in your bank account and ....

You go look in your bank account and ....

There is 10 million extra dollars in your account !

Just as your about to call the bank, a guy calls you from a international number and threatens you, your family and anyone you ever loved with death ☠️. He doesn't give a rats ass about your feelings and tells you to transfer the money back to him immediately.

Here is where it gets crazy, the guy gives you his name and brags he is wanted by the FBI and is on the most wanted criminal list for killing Federal officers.

So you Google this guys name and you find out he stole every cent of the money that is in your bank account and then some from another counties government in gold bullion.

From the information you get from the transaction that you can see, the money came from a off shore bank account and it wasn't in his name.

Neither the country where he stole it from or where he deposited it has extradition treaties with the country you live in. So in essence the money is yours if you can hold on to it.

You got four options only

A) You keep the money and hope he never shows up at your front door. But here is the thing you know if he gets picked up by the police he is going to a supermax prison in colorado forever.

B) Call the FBI and turn over the money right away. Hopefully they can protect you.

C) Lure the shitheel, to your home kill him under the Castile Doctrine and pocket the money. When he dies all traces of why he came to your house are forever gone and the money is yours to keep forever.

D) you run with your loved ones and hide out till he is in prison or dead.

What do you do of the four options ?

[No Loopholes] Would you rather take 10k/month and retire, or 100k/month but have to work 5-6 days a week, 8-10 hour days for the next 10 years?

Would you rather take 10k/month and retire, or 100k/month but have to work 5-6 days a week, 8-10 hours a day for the next ten years? And the amount is after taxes.

I know this is a hypothetical question, but my friends who work in finance makes a high salary per month but the amount of dinners, weddings, milestones with our friend group (now that we’re in our 30s) they’ve missed is sad. But they live in nice homes. Pays for their parents, etc. while a lot of us work and have good paying jobs (6-8k per month) but have a nice 9-5.

Loopholes Encouraged $1000 a day, but you must melt your own water

You’re given a one time offer. If you accept, then you’re picked up tomorrow and brought to a nice complex where you will stay ALONE for as long as you wish.

The complex is very nice. It has a gym, trampoline park, gaming room, internet, a nice bedroom, plenty of clothes, a kitchen, and a bathroom. All of these come with whatever you’d expect them to come with, without very strict limitations on the value of the items inside. You are given full control of the thermostat, lights, and whatever else you care for.

The only thing missing in this complex is water. The kitchen provides most things, but denies you any watery stuff or undried fruits.

If you want water to drink, cook your food, or rinse yourself off with, you have to get it from the melting room.

The melting room is a large, stone room that is kept at -5 Celcius, just a bit below freezing, and has bags full of ice inside. To get water, you must use your own body heat to melt the ice inside the bags, which have a mesh-lined lid that lets you pour water out without letting you release any ice. There are no other water sources provided.

You may not bring the bags of ice out of the room, and the only things you may bring in are vessels to hold the water with such as pots, bowls, or cups. Leaving the door to the melting room open does not cause the inside to warm up.

You are allowed visitors, but they may not bring in water nor enter the melting room.

You are paid $1,000 (or equivalent) immediately upon entering and again for every full 24 hours you remain inside without leaving or breaking the rules.

How long are you staying, and what’s your strategy?

$50 million, but you must work fast food until retirement.

A stranger makes you an offer. Tomorrow, $50 million will be in your bank account, tax-free, to spend however you like.

The condition: starting Monday, you must work full-time, 40 hours per week, at a fast food restaurant until age 65. Same uniform, same wage, same jobs as everyone else: flipping burgers, cleaning washrooms, working the drive-thru.

Quit or get fired, and you must pay back every dollar of the 50 million, including anything earned from investments or interest, and relinquish everything you've already purchased with it. You cannot use your newly-acquired wealth to evade your responsibilities (paying employees to take your shifts, buying the restaurant, etc.)

You can take vacation days and sick days like any normal employee. You can live in a mansion, drive a Lamborghini to work, and spend your downtime travelling the world. But every Monday morning, you will be back behind the counter.

Do you accept?

Humor Encouraged Every time you consume dairy, you get a little bit healthier, but some guy gets explosive diarrhea and sends a 2-minute video once a week begging you to stop and saying that you're ruining his life.

From now on, every time you consume, you get a little bit healthier depending on how much you consume in a day. For example, drinking a glass of milk would be like if you did a minor workout at the gym, while chugging down a few dozen tubs of ice cream would make you younger and heal/fix chronic conditions like a leg that didn't heal right or diabetes, given enough time.

But it comes at a cost: this guy now has digestive problems every time you consume dairy. Depending on how much you consume, it could be, "Thank you, I was a bit constipated" to "OH GOD!!! WHY WON'T IT STOP!!!".

Once a week, you have to watch a 2-minute video of him begging you to stop eating dairy. He'll tell you things like how he shit his pants at his daughter's school play or how the janitor at his job quit because of the messes he's made. It won't affect his health or finances, but it will socially.

Also, the guy is not a good person; he doesn't belong in prison, but he's a total scumbag, and you could look at this as you being karma's hand if it helps you sleep at night. You'll never meet this guy in person, and he has no way of finding you.

What are you going to do now that you have this Gift/Curse?

eternal room

You wake up in a plain white room. Theres one door, one bed, a table, and a clock on the wall that says 6:00 AM. On the table is a note that says “Leave before midnight and you’re free.”

You wake up in a white room with no windows. Theres a bed, a table, a door, and a clock on the wall. The clock says 6:00. On the table is a note: “Leave before midnight and you’re free.”

You open the door and theres a long hallway. The floor tiles have numbers on them. The first one says 10,000, the next says 9,999, and so on. You walk all day and the numbers keep going down, but you never see the end.

The second the clock hits 12, you pass out. You wake up back in the bed at 6:00. Everything resets. Your body resets. Anything you broke is fixed. The only thing that stays the same is your memory.

You try everything. You break the walls, but behind them is just another copy of the same room, with the same clock showing the same time. You try to stay awake, but you always pass out right when the hands hit 12.

How do you get out?

$600,000 a year but your new job is now public sock snapper

Saw this on TikTok and thought it was an interesting one

You are offered a $600,000 year job offer.

If you choose to accept you are given a top of the line camera.

Your new job if you choose to accept is to take 50 clear photos per week of strangers socks.

You will go out in public and snap a picture of any sock you see on someone’s foot.

You can ask people to help you complete it but you cannot offer money or any other type of gift.

Each photo must be of a different sock. If you can get a photo of a pair of socks in a single frame, that’s worth 5 photos.

If you fail to get 50 photos by the end of the work week, you are instantly fired and any money you received must be given back/repaid

Would you accept the job offer?

Edit: Ignore that last paragraph, realised it didn’t make sense

You find yourself trapped in a Groundhog Day-style time loop, but a sketchy time wizard promises to free you... eventually. What do you do?

One morning, you wake up at 6:00 AM and go about your day as usual. But when the day ends, you wake up at 6:00 AM again, on the exact same day. Congratulations! You're stuck in a classic Groundhog Day scenario.

After a few loops, a mysterious time wizard appears before you. He apologizes profusely, explains that the time loop was an accident, and promises that he's working on fixing it. He estimates that he can probably get you out in another day or two... or maybe several. Unfortunately, he seems pretty sketchy, so you're not entirely confident in his abilities. For all you know, you could be stuck for another three loops or another thousand.

Before you can ask any more questions, he disappears, leaving you to figure out what to do with your potentially unlimited free time.

Here are the rules:

  1. The day repeats from 6:00 AM to 6:00 AM. Everything generally unfolds exactly as it did before, unless you directly or indirectly interfere with events. For example, the same news stories break, the same stocks rise and fall, and the same people go about their routines.
  2. You retain all your memories and learned knowledge between loops. You can study languages, learn new skills, memorize information, and generally improve yourself intellectually. However, you cannot retain anything physical between loops, including written notes, money, or possessions.
  3. Your body resets, but muscle memory persists. Any physical changes to your body—including injuries, fatigue, weight gain or loss, muscle growth, cardiovascular conditioning, and calluses—reset every morning. However, your brain retains everything it learns, including muscle memory, reflexes, coordination, and practiced techniques. You could spend a thousand loops learning to play the piano or mastering martial arts, but you couldn't build a bodybuilder's physique or improve your physical endurance. In other words, you can improve your skills, but not your physical attributes.
  4. Any loop could be your last. This is the big one. When the wizard finally fixes the problem, the day simply stops repeating. You don't receive any warning, and you don't get one final do-over. Whatever you did on your last loop becomes permanent, and tomorrow finally arrives. If you robbed a bank, assaulted somebody, or spent your entire life savings that day, congratulations: you now have to live with the consequences.
  5. You have no way to contact the wizard. He appeared once, delivered his explanation, and vanished. You have no idea when he'll return, or whether he'll return at all. You just have his promise that he's working on it.
  6. No easy lottery jackpots. For the sake of avoiding the most obvious answer, the repeating day has no lottery drawings. Other ways of making money through foreknowledge are fair game, provided you can figure out how to take advantage of them.

You could be free tomorrow. You could be stuck for years. You have effectively unlimited opportunities to learn, experiment, and experience things, but absolutely no guarantee that you'll get another chance to undo today's decisions.

So, what's your strategy? How would you spend your days, and how would you balance exploiting the loop with the possibility that any given day might become permanent?

You get given $5, if you can spend it within 60 seconds you get $100k

If you accept, you are instantly given a crisp $5 bill. You are also transported to a random place in your city (nearest city if you don’t live in one).

It could be in the middle of the road, a random home or right inside a store.

You must spend that $5 in 60 seconds, if successful, $100k is instantly deposited into your account.

Don’t worry about queues, they instantly disappear and every cashier/self checkout accepts cash.

If you don’t, you lose the $5 and must pay $500

Would you accept?
