We have been getting a lot of folks stuck at home producing music, sometimes on iPads, iPhones or other mobile platforms. But sometimes not, or at least it appears that way - they just use Logic or whatever computer based DAW they have and are spamming multiple music related subreddits.
In order to keep this forum focused on mobile music production I would ask any Redditor who wants a participant of this subreddit to listen to their creation to put [Listen] in the post title. So if you are asking folks to visit your SoundCloud, YouTube channel or some other place to show off your music, tag it with [Listen].
But don't stop there. Come into the comments and tell us all what apps you used to produce the music so we can all learn.
If you do not do this, the mods may remove your post as spam. This is because some submissions that really are spam the submitter either ignores the request for adding details to the comments or doesn't know how to answer it!
Also, feel free to report posts that seem to violate the spirit of our little sub. Spam and other reports are acted on very quickly and help keep things focused and clean.
edit: finally, the automoderator isn't perfect, though it is pretty darn good now. If you have followed the rules and used [listen] and it still pulled it, please message the mods and we'll approve it.

We're fairly lenient here on self promotion. But the vibecoded sites and apps are getting out of hand. Countless low effort products are getting posted looking to exploit the user base for some sales. This is to announce that such posts are not welcome here.
This is now mentioned in the sidebar and rules, and such posts can be reported.

Love making music on iPad. However, I noticed that only a few apps got updated for iPhone Duo. Of course, one of those is Koala Sampler. Waiting for Drambo. Did you guys find or use any other optimized apps yet?
EDIT: Found out that if you launch apps as auv3 extensions in garage band, they mostly appear optimized (ie Drambo), which is very surprising

Another ambient ukulele session, this time with the M-vave FM-1 next to it. The uke (mic’d with a Behringer SL75C) and the synth go into a Zoom AMS-44, and it all goes into Loopy Pro on my iPhone.
This was my first time using unsynced loops, so I put reverbs after the loops as well to keep the whole thing evolving. The effects: Irio Pro, Loopy’s stock EQ, OtherDesertCities, Eventide Blackhole, Rymdigare, EOS2, and LevLR as a limiter at the end. EOS2 and Irio Pro were the new additions to my FX list and I’m really impressed with Irio... the reverbs and delays sound fantastic and it’s super flexible, but there is a whole realm in there which I haven’t explored yet... I like the different take and visual approach... truly an IKEA DIY effect playground :)

It's new format time! Here is a 30 minute 'First Contact' video of me using the much hyped RUN4 app on iPad, which definitely seems lovingly inspired by the Torso S4 hardware.
The very talented developer of RUN4, Eugen Schott, describes his app as being, 'Somewhere between tape, sampler and granular instrument. Four tracks to catch a sound, wear it down, and find what lives underneath.' So what can a new user do with it in their first 30 minutes? Is the workflow easily understandable? What kinds of sounds can you make?
Aside from one major user error that left me grasping at straws for a little while, using RUN4 was a really fun time and hopefully this video will give you a small glimpse into what's possible with this app. I may well devote more videos to it, as there's so much you can do!
Alas, there are no chapter headings as it's a warts and all initial dive into RUN4. Please let me know if you like this format in the comments below, and if so I'll do more of them!
(Eagle-eyed viewers may note with puzzlement why my iPad screen is saying it's 'Tue 9 Jan' on this video. Genuine bafflement from me too with this, as the video was recorded on Friday 23 October! Could it be something weird to do with recording the iPad screen in OBS Studio? If anyone has a theory regarding Dategate, please do leave it in the comments!)

I've recently starting using Groove Rider 2 and have been enjoying it. However, I've found a fairly replicable bug where notes seem to randomly not trigger (this is using external AUV3 synths as sound sources). I can get this to occur somewhat consistently after editing notes using the select feature. Has anyone else run into this and is there a fix? I have triple checked that note probability is not being used. I'm using an ipad pro m5, with the multicore audio option enabled, if that makes a difference.

Does anyone use an iPad in a physical pedal chain among other analog and digital pedals? Of course some of you do!
I’ve got a second iPad I never use and would be perfect just to sit in my studio on a charger for FX duties between pedals as an auxiliary pedal to do any number of things. I’ve tried three different setups with three different routing options and I’m just looking for the simplest one because monitoring gets very difficult.
I’m wondering if an A/B switch and going pure iPad or pure pedal is the easiest and most reliable solution. I’m thinking so and have an A/B pedal I never use so I might give that a shot as try #4.
I’m curious to hear how you guys are routing things! Videos even better or links to smart ways to do this - I’ve got a lot of class compliant audio options and my mixer (model 16) being one, along with iRig duo, and numerous Elektron boxes.

Im trying to figure out if it’s possible to force the internal sample rate to 48khz, without an external audio interface. I’m using an iPad 6 mini and right now it’s 44.1.

Playing with a concept of picking any song from YouTube and instant remixing OR playing along it with automatic note detection. Having fun stem swapping. But before investing more time and tokens in it - wonder if any iPad interest around it.

Hello folks. Introducing PNEUMATIC, an AUV3 valve pressure machine. Freebie on the app store now.
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/pneumatic/id6816378252
Put together from an old prototype of my other app WAIL, this app gives a basic simulation of valve pressure building, releasing, whistling etc. Bit of a sound design tool / toy really but has midi so can be played as an instrument too if you want some fizzy, hissy, wheezy synthage.
Little sound demo here - https://youtube.com/shorts/c_3KZFoMjrU?si=NSZoGlMPbDb3WpYR
The gauge, wheels and lever all from photographs taken of vintage fire engines thanks to Rochdale Fire Museum. The lever is pretty satisfying to play with, it gives some fightback when you pull it, haptics give it a physical thunk when it latches.
Bit of fun, I'm trying to rekindle a little bit of what made Apple devices fun when they first came out. Not a great variety of sounds to get from it but useful for some of you in some situation I'm sure. Enjoy.
