Jilli Jacket vs. Lakes Jacket - opinions or other similar patterns
I love the Lakes Jacket by Ozetta but am not a fan of saddle shoulder construction. I have a feeling I would end up unsatisfied with how it looks when I do it/on me. Instead, I found the Jilli Jacket by Anne Ventzel that looks very similar but has a raglan construction. Main differences seem to be: obviously the raglan vs saddle shoulder, but also - the Jilli Jacket has rolled hems and uses twisted rib instead of regular 1x1, the back is longer than the front on the Jilli and fabric is intended to be more lightweight from what I’ve gathered. But all of those attributes are easily modified, right? Am I missing anything? I’d buy the Ozetta pattern in a heartbeat if it wasn’t for the saddle shoulders, so many people have made it and are satisfied. Also I’m massively annoyed at the ridiculous photos Anne Ventzel posted of her jacket. Classic dumb poses where you can’t see anything, you really need to dig through Ravelry projects and the jillijacket hashtag on IG to find helpful pictures. It enrages me when designers to that for a PAID PATTERN, it massively puts me off buying it. Anyway… does anyone who knows more about pattern design than me notice any obvious differences I need to keep in mind to make the Jilli feel more like the Lakes jacket? Has anyone here made the Jilli or know of other good Lakes jacket alternatives that aren’t saddle shoulder? ETA: I’ve also seen the Hannah jacket by PetiteKnit but the neckline doesn’t seem to come up as high and it overall just doesn’t have the same wow factor for me somehow.
