Update on this piece of shit - Exposing himself to 10 year old children. Maryland / Fletcher NSW
Ryan Yates, 25, of Fletcher, applied to be released on bail in Newcastle Local Court on Monday after he was charged with "disturbing" and "predatory" behaviour earlier this month.
The court heard Yates had been released on a Commonwealth recognizance order, like a good behaviour bond, in July after he was sentenced to a maximum of two years jail for recording six women without their consent, using AI to create child abuse material and soliciting pictures from an underage girl.
The Newcastle Herald reported on Monday that Yates was back behind bars after he was arrested on October 16 and accused of stalking three young girls and exposing himself at Maryland.
He was charged with wilful and obscene exposure near a public place or school, convicted child sex offender loiter near public place, three counts of stalking or intimidation, failing to comply with the reporting obligations of the child protection register and negligent driving.
Further details of the allegations against Yates can be revealed after the 25-year-old convicted child sex offender applied for bail on Monday.
Prosecutors said three 10-year-old girls had got off the bus from school about 3.45pm on October 16 when Yates allegedly appeared from behind some trees in a park, approached them and exposed himself.
"One girl was so frightened she was frozen to the spot and couldn't leave while this incident happened in front of her," prosecutors said.
Yates allegedly got into a white car and left while the girls immediately reported what happened to their parents and provided a description of the man and his car.
The court heard the girls' fathers drove around the area until they found a car that matched the description and began "chasing it" before Yates crashed at Wallsend.
Yates admitted being in the area, the court heard, but said he was just "stretching his legs".
"It's a disturbing set of facts and Mr Yates poses an unacceptable risk to any young child in the area," prosecutors said.
"These are not minor offences.
"These were three 10-year-old girls in school uniforms... he clearly has a penchant for this kind of thing.
"There are no bail conditions that could mitigate the risks he poses of continuing to commit offences."
Judge Georgina Darcy agreed and said the case against Yates was strong and the allegations indicated his "behaviour was escalating and predatory".
Yates was refused bail and the matter was adjourned until Wednesday to see if the ODPP would elect to prosecute.
