Analysis [SI] Grading Bryce Young in Carolina Panthers' Horrific Loss to Buccaneers: Young was also sacked 5 times, which isn't fully on him because he was under pressure basically the entire game, being pressured on over 68% of dropbacks.
Bryce Young's time to pressure faced by week, per @SumerSports:
\* Wk 7: 2.42
\* Wk 6: 2.54
\* (Wk 5 bye)
\* Wk 4: 2.58
A quick pressure is defined as under 2.5 seconds. That means Bryce averaged a quick pressure on every drop back in week 7. Prior to week 7 Bryce was second in the league in drop backs under pressure despite having an early bye - hes been pressured 83 times this season with another 16 added this week.
With Panthers RT getting ankle season injury and going out from the game except more pressure on Mr Young

Discussion In franchise history prior to 2026, the Panthers have allowed an opponent to score 40+ points at home just 3 times. Less than halfway into the 2026 season, they've allowed 40+ points at home twice.

Analysis Nate Tice on Carolina's run defense
youtube.comThis was some decent insight into why the Panthers run defense still struggles despite the large investments we've made. For those not interested in "a long-winded way of saying Evero sucks", this is obviously not the video for you, but if anyone wants a more detailed breakdown, I thought it was worth a listen. Nate Tice's main takeaways were:
- Predictability: Evero schemes some exotic run fits (particularly with our LBs), but has become predictable in how he deploys them, making it easy for opposing offenses to exploit. We lack chaos.
- Personnel: The bodies we're deploying at both edge and in the secondary are lacking aggressiveness vs the ground game. Outside of Derrick Brown, the D-Line doesn't create movement up-front, and injuries aside, our healthy DBs take poor angles to the ball carrier.
They end the conversation by pointing out that Evero has been here since 2023, which is "way too long to be running into this mistake", in their words. Obvious stuff, but validating to hear it from someone outside the fanbase, at least to me.

Humor I'd like to apologize to the panthers and panthers fans
I believe I am the reason we lost, the only two panthers games I've ever gone to was against the saints at home last season and the one yesterday. I am realizing I'm the problem and have decided that I am this team's bad luck charm and will no longer attend anymore games in the future . My apologies for this one, it won't happen again

Humor The real reason we lost nobody is talking about
So the Panthers have now lost against the Bears, Browns, and Buccaneers.
What do all of those teams have in common?
That’s right, they all start with the letter B
Panthers have a 100% win rate against teams this year that don’t start with the letter B (Falcons, Lions, Eagles)
Conversely they have a 0% win rate against teams this year the start with the letter B (Bears, Browns, Bucs)
You may think I’m just talking out of my ass but go check preseason. Wins against the cardinals, jaguars, and Texans.
Who did we lose to? The Bills
Based on this formula the panthers have 3 more losses on the schedule: the broncos, Bucs #2, and bengals.
At best the team finishes with a 10-6 record. This should hopefully be good enough to win the NFC South.
Once in the playoffs there is one NFC team we have to be worried about meeting which is a rematch with the bears. The only other NFC team with a B is the Bucs and they prolly don’t make playoffs.
AFC it gets more interesting because the only time we can match up with a B team in the playoffs is the Super Bowl.
Unfortunately all 4 AFC B teams are in the playoffs. The ideal matchup would be against the chiefs, Jaguars, or steelers. Playoff seeding can change so add in the Ravens or Patriots who are on the bubble.
So for the future make sure to root for any team playing the bears, bills, browns, bengals, or broncos. (And ofc the Bucs)
Hopefully the coaching staff has taken notice of this and can make personnel adjustments for the guaranteed losses.

Vibes were immaculate leading up to kickoff, but knew after the first drive that this rush defense was going to get exposed real bad like Chicago did. With the muffed punt, well... lol
This 4th-and-goal sums up my feelings of frustration, unable to score even at what is already garbage time. Prayers up for T-Mo, guy can NEVER catch a break

Discussion As angry as yesterday made me, I STILL believe we’re an improving team on the upswing
Just need to rip the band aid off on the defense and avoid injuries while making adjustments. I do believe the talent is there. Just me tho
