Feel like i overspending. Buying this for $870 back then (used) i upgrading from 4060. I got 700fps on counter strike but it feels like a waste. Should just buy 9060 xt when is still very cheap. Also it seems like 5080 doesn’t hold the value very well, better sell it before the price drop.

Last year I bought a prebuilt with these specs for a out the door price of 1,819$

With prices increasing I’ve been keeping an eye out for a 5090, and or a 5080.. recently spotted a PNY 5080 near me for less than $1,600.. Im thinking that if I purchase that 5080, and wait for 5070ti prices to most likely inflate.. I can essentially “trade” GPUs. Selling the 5070ti for close to/exactly the same price I would buy the 5080 for.. it might take a couple months but prices do not seem to be coming down.

If the 5070ti doesn’t go up, I can just resell the 5080 for exactly what I paid (hopium)

Im happy with my 5070ti but is this a justified way of thinking?

I can't even start a Dota 2 Hero Demo without dropping to 25 FPS. The main menu caps out at 40 FPS. The GPU is basically a very expensive decoration while the CPU does all the heavy lifting. 🥲

The good news: a Ryzen 7 5800X3D is arriving on Thursday, and 32GB of RAM on Friday.

I'm getting these micro stutters randomly on all games so its not game specific, it can be fixed by a system restart but i would like to try and eliminate it completely.

its strange because they can happen on boot without opening anything at all then on a restart it gets fixed again with the same rules not touching anything from boot so its seems completely at random. i will post some images of nvidia settings and start up programs in the comments

I just bought my first pc in august and im having problems with my gpu.

I bought the pc as a prebuilt from awd-it and its been working great. However I have recently started having a problem where games crash instantly. I have tried many fixes but not have seemed to work. It says they error is a LiveKernalEvent 141 and I think it started after installing a driver update.

List of already attempted:

• DDU and reinstall drivers
• Changing settings on my NVidia control panel
• Reset BIOS by removing battery for 10 minutes
• Reset my whole pc back to factory
• Used some commands in command prompt from some YouTube video I saw
• Contacted Awd-it and tried the fixes they recommended (I still have warranty and can send it to them if needed but I'm a uni student and need my pc for work + Don't really want to be spending £30+ on packaging to send it back if I can avoid it)
• Maybe some other stuff that I've forgot (feels like I've tried a lot of things)

My specs are:

• CPU - AMD Ryzen 7 5800X / 8 Core / 16 Thread / 4.7Ghz TURBO
• GPU - Gigabyte GeForce RTX 5070
• SSD - Kingston FURY Renegade 1TB

But yes that's pretty much it, constant crashing as soon as I boot up a game. Any help is appreciated or letting me know if this is faulty hardware would also be great

I loved just upgrading my PC from time to time, I have a good machine, last upgrade was luckily RAM 2 years ago.

But damn, prices are insane right now. I looked at some builds and I looked at parts, I think 70% of the price goes into memory nowadays.

What do you think? How long do you think until prices come back down?
I don't need it, but I just enjoy upgrading.

I am open to getting used parts, and i want to know your guys' opinions.

if i was downloading or playing something on my external hdd and power went out, will the ms time duration between losing power and getting power from ups battery damage my hdd

i’m really into the finals right now, pretty much only game i play and whenever i load it up my pc freezes after at most 3 minutes. i’ve had it change my setting up a few times. i was under the impression my cpu was overheating so i tried other games on max settings and they ran fine and never crashed regardless of how long i was on them. i tried arc raiders, another unreal engine 5 game, same exact problem.

sometimes my pc just restarts itself and sometimes it goes to a black or blue screen with these messages:
KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED
and the attached image has displayed twice out of all the crashes

it was suggested to be to install the previous of my graphics drivers, disable xmp, and uninstall some windows rgb sys file. none of these things affected the crashes.

The price keeps hiking up so fast, it's not even monthly leaps but a few weeks at this point.
