Discussion I can't think of a single way to make use of this 16Gb M.2.
I harvested it out of an old HP all in one pc.

Another day and Another Emulator test upload. Why do I keep posting these? Because I want to for one and Because I personally think Emulation is the greatest form of Gaming there is. The fact that we can run New-ish PS5 games on PC at higher Framerates than the Original console this fast is Super Impressive.
The Best thing going on in the PC Gaming space right now are Decomps, Recomps and Emulation. There is nothing else to talk about IMO. The RAMpocalypse has killed most interest in new tech bceause Its Unaffordble for the vast majority of ppl.
Its Kinda Ironic really.
AI Killed the DIY Market and made new hardware Unobtanium for the majority of ppl. But on the Flipside, AI is helping to bring Unofficial PC Ports of games at Breakneck Speeds.
I guess you have to take the good with the bad.
(((FYI: Yes, This is using DLSS Frame Generation- I know the majority of you hate Frame Generation but I honestly dont give a Shit. In single player games I actually like using Frame Generation when the Base FPS is at least 80 to 90 FPS. But this is only a Test))))

So, after Sony decided to kill of discs in 2028, I thought it’d be a good idea to switch to PC (if I’m forced to buy digital anyway, then I’ll buy digitally for way cheaper).
Apparently I got a very good deal on my GPU in comparison to the economy at least - I got a 5080 and a 9800X3D, which probably is overkill especially for the first gaming pc, but I wanted something that’ll wipe the floor with a ps5 pro. And what can I say… this shit was SO worth it.
It took a while to set up (including some frustration for a complete pc noob like me), but now I can play on my couch with controller on a 77” OLED TV with Surround Sound. To play games like Cyberpunk with Path Tracing in 4K AND constant smooth framerate is an alien feeling to me.
I was a PlayStation gamer since day 1, I started on PS2 - I always thought I don’t need the good features of PC gaming like not having to worry about backwards compatibility or modding, but now that I actually have a good PC, I’m replaying some games that I enjoyed on PS5, and my god, it looks and feels like a completely new experience.
TLDR:
I was a console player since day one, switched to PC thanks to Sonys fuck-up, and I wouldn’t EVER consider going back to console. Now I can experience true peak gaming.
Fuck you Sony. I hope more people switch to PC - IF they have the possibility to spend some bucks on a PC, they should do it. I was missing out big time.

For the sake of your wallet. If you feel the itch to impulse buy, if you got a bit of FOMO, just wishlist it and pretend you bought. Every few weeks or so, review your list and see if you still feel the same about those games. This also gives some time for patches.

My Zotac had been making a hideous noise because of a dodgy fan, and I flirted with the idea of upgrading my system (which will also turn 7). Then I looked at the prices and quietly bought a replacement fan and thermal paste. Live long, you beauty.

Got it for 899.99CAD at Canada computers, were only 3 left at that price at my location when I got i.
Upgraded from a rx 7700 xt which was a good card but got held back by its 12gb vram at 1440p which is why I upgraded and boy oh boy is this card a beast, the 9070 ran all my games flawlessly and even held its ground when I used some ray tracing.
Got the 3 year warranty from Canada computers which costed me about 150CAD more so I don't have to deal with asus if it fails given asus's terrible RMA reputation.

At 4.8GHZ it is 3% faster than Arrow Lake in single thread performance, assuming it clocks JUST the same as Arrow Lake it will be more than 20% faster!

System still posting and can run demanding 4K path tracing loads at normal temperature without crashes but I’ve stopped using it at risk of more damage. Is it dangerous to test with a new cable? Is it possible to remove the melted plastic out of that female port or will I just do more damage. Any advice is welcome. Im prepared to have to pay to change the whole female port on the gpu but I’m hoping there is cheaper options i just don’t want to fry my expensive gpu.
To add, On hw monitor under load for an hour gpu 16hvpwr voltage drops to lowest 11.353 and pcie slot 11.5 I’ve read these numbers are concerningly low. Gpu rail voltages of 11.22

This SSD worked hard as the boot drive for my NAS since I bought it about a year ago.
It suddenly died a few weeks ago. I replaced it with a HDD with the same size.
What are fun ways I can repurpose/DIY this SSD? Any suggestions are welcome! I just can't throw it away lol.
