DISCLAIMER: I love Olivia Rodrigo. Have done since Driver's License. Drop Dead will definitely be my top song and I think YSPSFAGSIL is album of the year no question. On top of that, I admire her balls for being unapologetic about her stances. Do not take this as me slandering her because I think she deserves a better fanbase.
All that said, I think a chunk of her fanbase, at least online (which I know is not a 1-1 reflection of real life), aren't as much fans of her as they are haters of Sabrina Carpenter and Taylor Swift. You open a video of the Unravelled tour and it's not uncommon for one of the top comments to be "Taylor Swift wishes she could do this!" or variations upon it. It's also not uncommon for Livie accounts to be the loudest when it comes to Sabrina Carpenter backlash (after the wine moms ad dudebros have had their fun). And I am not saying you have to be a fan of every artist in the world or even every pop girlie. But if your fave is on tour and your first thought it about another artist, you do have to ask yourself how much of a fan you are.
I think this part of Olivia's fanbase are trying to position her as the anti-Carpenter/Swift. The one who is In It For The Music, the One True Pop Girl who's just not like the rest. And I am not sure how long this can last. As Megan Thee Stallion said, "they're ot pro-you, they're anti-me".
I believe Olivia will go on to have a long and successful career, she's clearly only going from strength to strength. But I do wonder if this part of her fanbase will crumble away with nothing to sustain them, or worse, turn on her.

Aside from “Dancing Queen” and “Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!”, “The Winner Takes it All” seems to be a huge favorite amongst ABBA’s core audience nowadays. Young folks sing their hearts out to it, make YouTube reactions and even bop their heads to what they would call “a sad banger,” not knowing the deep and painful history behind it.
The other day, I was listening to the audiobook of Carl Magnus Palm’s comprehensive “Bright Lights, Dark Shadows” and stopped at that pivotal point in their history where things were not going right, and it makes for a compelling read, as is all of the book. The boys were lacking inspiration and Björn was actively trying to spend more time in the studio to avoid dealing with Agnetha at home and their internal problems, which were now creeping into their studio dynamic. Not to mention they were also parents of small children, which complicated things even further as they faced a new journey as divorcees. And on top of that, you had the business represented in Stig and the different record companies like Polar, Atlantic and Epic that saw their best-selling interest in jeopardy.
I can relate to the heartbreak of facing a separation, breaking the news to my other half, shedding painful tears and dusting off. Still, I feel that the pressure they would’ve gone through is just simply unimaginable. One thing I can imagine, though, is how cathartic the recording of “The Winner Takes it All” would’ve been for both Agnetha as the vocalist and Björn as the lyric writer. How they’ve made peace with the cards destiny dealt for them. How it all made for one of their greatest achievements as musicians.

So about my story how I got into Amy Winehouse lately, was because I was listening to music randomly on Spotify and This Love by Maroon 5 played and I immediately got Back to Black vibes. Has anyone went through this before???
I absolutely adore Amy and love her music, she is so iconic.
Also, I Wonder if Amy has a fandom name.

Note:I don't listen only to pop so there is more to my overall taste but this is the pop side of it.

Considering how her last album basically just came and went with zero hits and now she’s basically relegated to soundtracking shit like the Cocomelon movie, with SOS overshadowing everything, do you think SZA’s hitmaking days are already basically done? Or does she have anything in her still somewhere?

I’ve been told that the mind believes everything you repeat to it, so to help with my self-esteem, I’m making a playlist with songs like International Smile by Katy Perry and Confident by Demi Lovato. Please no mellow songs like Scars to Your Beautiful by Alessia Cara! That song is great but I wanna dance to my awesomeness.

AJ McLean brought his "Better Man" solo tour to the Wellmont Theater in Montclair, NJ, on Oct. 24, 2026, and proved that he's a powerhouse performer. While he showed off his unique voice during his underrated solo material, a highlight came when he performed a unique version of Backstreet Boys' "I Want It That Way" (mashed-up with what sounded like Earth Wind and Fire's "September") with opener Matt Bloyd.
Check out full video of said cover here, and stay tuned for more from this special show.

I'm truly baffled and need to know if anyone else feels the same way about her, tbh

I want to preface this by saying I've listened to both of them every.single.day for the past couple months, on God. I don't wanna act like I'm superior for disliking something popular because my entire playlist is popular songs. These are just my opinions and I just want to see if other people agree. But I feel like I haven't seen enough people talk about how... crowded (?) the whole song feels. Chappell's voice is sticking out weirdly and towards the end the whole thing is so overstimulating. Their voices do not blend together at all. Does anybody else feel this way?
