MLBB Team Liquid Philippines qualify for EWC 2026
Team Liquid Philippines are going to Paris. 🇫🇷💙
TLPH defeated ONIC Philippines 3–1 in the MPL Philippines Season 17 Upper Bracket Final, securing not only a spot in Sunday’s Grand Final but also one of the Philippines’ two tickets to the MLBB Mid Season Cup 2026 at the Esports World Cup in Paris.
For Western esports fans who may not follow MLBB closely: this is a massive deal. The Philippines is one of the strongest and most unforgiving Mobile Legends regions in the world, and qualifying through MPL PH means surviving a league where world champions, international finalists, and domestic powerhouses routinely eliminate each other before they even reach the global stage.
The series started with Team Liquid looking like the better team by a clear margin. Game 1 was complete control from TLPH, the kind of opener where ONIC never really looked comfortable. Game 2 was closer, especially in the team fights, but Liquid still looked a cut above. Even when ONIC found small windows, TLPH were cleaner in the key moments and moved to a commanding 2–0 lead.
ONIC refused to go quietly. In Game 3, Liquid were holding the advantage, but Savero’s Moskov changed the entire tone of the series. ONIC’s gold laner found the mid-game turnaround, scaled into the late game, and clutched the map to keep ONIC alive. Suddenly, it was 2–1, and the series had life.
Then came Game 4 — and for a while, it looked like disaster for Team Liquid.
ONIC dominated the early game. TLPH were behind, the momentum had flipped, and KarlTzy started 0–5–1 on his signature Lancelot. For most players, that kind of start ends the game. For KarlTzy, it somehow became the beginning of the comeback.
He found a Maniac — basically MLBB’s version of a Quadra Kill — and dragged Liquid back into a game that looked nearly gone. He followed it up with a ridiculous escape from a Super Frince Luo Yi gank attempt, keeping TLPH alive long enough to reach the final decisive fight.
And then Sanford ended it.
As ONIC looked for a clutch gank onto KarlTzy, Sanford’s Phoveus landed a five-man Dark Wave, locking down ONIC and setting up the wipe that sealed the series. From a collapsing early game to a highlight-reel finish, Team Liquid completed the comeback and punched their ticket to Paris.
What makes this run even more impressive is the road Liquid had to take just to get here. This was not supposed to be a simple continuation of the old dynasty. The team entered the season after major offseason turbulence: the departure of their previous coaching staff, the controversial exit of their former gold laner, and the failed attempt to secure their expected Indonesian import. On paper, there were real reasons to wonder if the roster would finally slow down.
Instead, they buckled down, dominated the regular season, finished as the top seed, and became the first Philippine team to qualify for EWC 2026 through MPL PH Season 17.
They still have one more job to finish: the MPL Philippines Season 17 Grand Final on Sunday, May 31 at 5:00 PM PHT — that’s 11:00 AM in Paris/Berlin, 10:00 AM in London, 5:00 AM ET, and 2:00 AM PT.
But whatever happens on Sunday, one thing is already official:
Team Liquid Philippines are going to Paris.

MLBB Team Liquid Philippines are your MPL Philippines Season 17 Champions
Team Liquid Philippines are your MPL Philippines Season 17 champions, defeating Team Falcons Philippines 4–2 in the Grand Finals and completing one of the most dominant domestic runs in modern MLBB history.
For Western esports fans who may not follow Mobile Legends closely: MPL Philippines is one of the strongest and most unforgiving domestic leagues in mobile esports. This is the region that has produced world champions, international finalists, and legendary dynasties. Winning MPL PH once is already massive. Winning it three straight times is historic.
And for this organization’s lineage, this championship means even more.
This is the franchise’s fifth MPL Philippines championship under the AURA PH / ECHO / Team Liquid ECHO / Team Liquid Philippines lineage. If you include the earlier SunSparks run before the AURA PH acquisition, this historical franchise line now stands at seven MPL Philippines championships.
That domestic legacy also sits alongside major international trophies, including the M4 World Championship and MSC 2025 at the Esports World Cup, making this one of the most accomplished organizational lineages in MLBB history.
But this title was not born from a perfect offseason.
Team Liquid Philippines entered the season carrying the weight of the M7 heartbreak, where their Golden Road attempt came to an end after a powerful 2025 campaign. The team had been chasing history, and falling short left a mark.
Then came the offseason turbulence: the departure of their coaching staff, issues surrounding the gold lane, the controversial exit of former gold laner OHEB, and the failed attempt to secure their expected Indonesian import, AeronShiki.
For a roster that had been built around dominance, the offseason suddenly created uncertainty.
Then came Teddy.
What started as a forced adjustment became one of the biggest breakout stories of the season. Instead of collapsing under the pressure, Team Liquid adapted, rebuilt their identity, and found a new balance.
The result was a dominant 13–1 regular season, the top seed, and a playoff run that reminded everyone why this core remains the standard of Philippine MLBB.
The Grand Finals opened exactly the way many expected from the best team in the Philippines.
In Games 1 and 2, Team Liquid showed why they had been the class of the league all season: superior team fighting, cleaner map control, sharper decision-making, and a level of discipline that Falcons simply could not match early in the series.
Liquid jumped out to a 2–0 lead in the best-of-seven, looking every bit like the defending champions and top seed.
But Falcons did not fold.
In Games 3 and 4, Team Falcons finally found their answer. Their gold laner, Super Marcos, became the decisive factor, with his carry pick giving Falcons the damage, confidence, and late-game threat they needed to fight back.
After looking overwhelmed in the first two games, Falcons adjusted, stabilized, and took two straight maps of their own to tie the series at 2–2.
Then Game 5 happened.
Team Liquid buckled down and reimposed themselves with a statement win that lasted only around 11 minutes. It was the kind of game that reminded everyone why this team had been considered the best in the Philippines all season.
Fast, ruthless, clinical — Liquid took control early and never gave Falcons room to breathe.
By Game 6, Liquid were back on their most favorable battleground: Flying Cloud, where they would eventually finish the season undefeated at 18–0.
With the championship on the line, Team Liquid once again showed their identity: patient when needed, explosive when given an opening, and brutally efficient once they had control.
They closed out Falcons, secured the series 4–2, and officially claimed their third consecutive MPL Philippines championship.
This also means Team Liquid Philippines will enter the MLBB Mid Season Cup 2026 at the Esports World Cup in Paris not only as the Philippine first seed, but as the defending MSC/EWC champions.
After winning MSC 2025, they now return to the international stage with the same championship pressure — and arguably as the best MLBB team in the world on current form.
It will also be their fourth consecutive Mid Season Cup appearance, further underlining how consistent this core has been across multiple seasons, metas, and roster changes.
Next up for Team Liquid MLBB is Team Liquid Indonesia, who are preparing for MPL Indonesia playoffs as the second seed in the upper bracket.
They begin their own run on June 11, with a chance to join TLPH in Paris.
As for Team Liquid Philippines, the grind does not stop.
A week later, the players will wear national team colors for the Asian Games qualifiers, set to be held in Singapore from June 18 to 21.
Post-Finals Notes
Sanford was named Grand Finals MVP after another massive performance on the biggest domestic stage.
KarlTzy was named Regular Season MVP, further adding to one of the most decorated résumés in Mobile Legends history.
Team Liquid Philippines also dominated the league honors, with Sanford, Sanji, KarlTzy, and Jaypee all named to All-Star Team 1 — the MPL equivalent of a First Team All-Pro selection.
From M7 heartbreak, to offseason chaos, to the exit of OHEB, to the failed AeronShiki import move, to the breakout discovery of Teddy, to a 13–1 regular season, to another MPL PH championship — Team Liquid Philippines turned uncertainty into dominance.
Three straight MPL PH titles.
Five MPL championships in the AURA/ECHO/Team Liquid franchise era.
Seven MPL championships in the broader SunSparks-to-Team Liquid historical lineage.
M4 world champions.
Defending MSC/EWC champions.
Another Philippine first seed.
Another international campaign ahead.
Paris is waiting.
Let’s Go Liquid. 💙

MLBB Team Liquid Philippines Statement on MPLPH S17 roster changes
A message from TL Philippines Mobile Legends
Context:
Team Liquid Philippines says Gold Laner Oheb’s exit forced a late roster scramble, so they tried to bring in Team Liquid Indonesia’s Gold lanerAeronnShikii, but that move fell through because of admin/timing issues. That opened the door for Teddyqt, who was already building momentum as a Team Liquid Academy gold laner and then really broke through during the SIBOL / Asian Games national qualifiers, where Team Liquid PH won the Philippine selection. So the statement is basically TL explaining the messy transition from Oheb, to AeronnShikii, to Teddyqt, while also admitting they communicated it badly.
