What X-Men Casting would have you genuinely upset? Something about The Rock Bishop feels realistically upsetting to me 😭.

Question The more X comics I read the less I like Beast. Will this trend continue?

Post image

Have consumed a ton of X-men adaptations and the a big chunk of the Claremont run in the past and it made Beast probably my 2nd favourite X-man. But now I'm trying to read basically as much X-men comics I can (so far mostly early 2010s era because someone recommended Wolverine and the X-men) and the more I read the less I like Beast. Without spoilers am I going to have to get used to this disappointment as I attempt to read a lot from every era? On the bright side I so far still like time displaced young beast and I like cyclops and storm a lot more.

Question Why do people not like mutants?

Post image

Not all mutants are like the brotherhood of evil mutants some of them are good. Here there is a mutant little girl the Xmen are protecting her. What could a little girl possibly do? At a young age mutants aren't really probably that powerful she can't help having the X gene.

Question Timeline confusion

Post image

So I was just rewatching Deadpool 2 and saw this frame in which all the younger mutants are present in the mansion, but since in chronological order Deadpool 2 takes place after Logan shouldn't everyone be old?and shouldn't Charles Xavier be dead or something?(sorry for the bad image quality, screenshots were restricted for some reason)

I don't really understand the timelines perfectly so would appreciate if anyone could explain this.

Question Is Storm the most special mutant in the Marvel universe?

Post image
1.7k Upvotes

Out of all the mutants in the X-Men verse she seems to be the most perfect and unique mutant. She’s an Omega level mutant who can manipulate the weather more versatilely than Thor, is stated to be a better temperature manipulator than Iceman, is a better energy manipulator than Vulcan, and also has electromagnetic abilities like Magneto.

On top of that she hails from a lineage of mystical divine sorcerers. She is a descendant of Agamotto who was Earth’s first Sorcerer Supreme, and she’s also a descendant of Oshtur. It was also stated that she has magical potential rivaling Doctor Strange and Scarlet Witch which she has yet to tap into. Her white hair and blue eyes are actually a result of her mystical and divine heritage and not her mutation.

She even has her own special Godhood transformation that’s powerful enough to stand up to abstract entities like Infinity. She was also chosen to be an Avatar by Eternity, an abstract entity who’s the embodiment of the whole Marvel universe. She’s also worthy enough to wield Mjolnir(Stormbreaker) and like Thor, she’s also a weather deity. She’s also canonically one of the most beautiful women in all of Marvel. Death and Dracula were both infatuated with her, would all of this make Storm the most unique mutant? She’s been a regent of an entire planet, the queen of the richest country in Marvel, and the leader of the X-Men. I can’t think of any other mutant who’s this special and beloved in universe.

Question If you guys were mutants living in the marvel universe what three powers would you guys want?

Post image

Like the title says.

If you guys were mutants living in the marvel universe what powers would you guys want?

You can pick any 3 powers that already exist. Assume that you are an average level guy, not omega level of anything else crazy. So like if you got ice powers you wouldnt be walking around freezing cities and stuff like that.

Assume no reality warping. you can pick omega level abilities but they won't be omega level. If the only example of the power is at an omega level then, just image that ability but heavily downgraded.

you get three picks and it can be from ANY mutant.

Question The way I understand mutant powers makes Wolverine's natural bone claws (before the adamantium) very confusing to me. Can an X-MEN fan explain please?

Post image
1.1k Upvotes

From my understanding of mutants, you get ONE mutation and maybe your appearence or body shifts as a direct consequence of that mutation. Until of course, something happens due to outside factors that unlocks a second mutation like in the case of what happened with Emma Frost where she was a telepath first and then unlocked the diamond skin later when her life was in grave danger (the privileged bitch).

So that makes Logans claws confusing. My understanding is that his healing factor is his mutant ability. But why would that give him claws? Why does he have the claws? He's had the claws, as long as I can tell, for his entire life, from the moment his mutation awoke.

My friend insists that his claws were just there because of a genetic anomaly he had ON TOP OF being a mutant. Like Squirrel Girl says in Rivals: "I have a genetic anomaly but I'm NOT mutant."

So is Wolverine just a an unimaginable cosmic coincidence that I guy JUST so happened to be a mutant giving his an incredible healing factor while ALSO having a genetic anomaly that gave him perfectly thematic bone claws? That seems like a bunch of bullpucky to me. What's really going on?

A: Logan is rare mutant with two coinciding mutations
B: Logan Had the healing factor but then went through something tremendously traumatic that gave him bone claws almost immediately as well?
C: Logan is both a mutant AND a freak genetic anomaly
D: Some other nonsense is afoot
